    This is super informative, but I just wanted to give some hope to those of us who can't spend that much! I'm a broke college student doing a 70.4 triathlon this weekend and I've spent a total of $600. There are definitely ways to make cuts when needed and where appropriate for you so don't lose hope if you dream to do long distance triathlon on a budget!

      Oh wow $600?! That's really impressive! How were able to make so many budget cuts especially with registration alone being pretty pricy?

      Yeah! Well, first off, I found a grassroots event. So, registration was a fraction of what it is at Ironman events ($200). I am borrowing someone's bike for the race itself and I trained on the bike I use for all my transportation for school (Giant Contend AR). So, if I had to purchase a bike the price would be wayyy higher.

    The total expenditure tallies up to $6,890, with a last-minute addition of $300 for a trisuit.

    Thank you, Emelyn for the transparency of costs. I believe, you need to include costs associated with coffee shops during the training as well. BTW, I am on 6 star marathon majors journey and I am experiencing similar cost per a marathon with air and accommodation as well. Good luck with your training. I am hoping to see you at the BMO half.

      Yes I mentioned in my video that I didn't include it in my expenses since there was too much for me to count 😅 Oooh yeah especialy world major marathons - they can get very expensive!! And thank you! I will for sure be there at BMO 😊

    I also used a trek! (Domane here) not the sickest fastest ride but did well enough and didn't make my husband have a heart attack. I had a tri suit from Amazon of all places that was fine even for a 70.3 but spent the money for a good wetsuit during a black Friday sale. You're right. Every little bit helps

      haha yes i agree about the Domane! ooh nice find for the trisuit and no chafing either?

      @michelleklein3713 2 месяца назад

      I didn’t have any chafing issues. I did test run it a few times with bike workouts /brick runs to see but I also used an inordinate amount of triglide spray to make sure I could get in and out the wetsuit so that probably helped with the neck and leg openings lol😂

      I was glad to find a two piece I know the all in one is “it” so it seems but for a quick bathroom stop I would rather shorts and a top. And I can size each piece better to my frame (xs top sm bottom)
