The worst part is that exercise also triggers it. Sugar is fine to live without. It's stressful to know it could happen at any time.
Yeah I work in a bottle shop and we've got this lovely concoction on our shelves known as "Dovka", we've got it at about $16-17AUD, so dirt cheap People quite frequently ask about it and why it is named Dovka, I just give them the most deadpan stare and tell them straight up, because it's certainly not Vodka, I'd say shit's good for jelly shots and that's about all but even then, I'd probably prefer an actual vodka as opposed to watered down methylated spirits

What I've learned is that it comes down to how good the distiller is at making cuts and how greedy they are for volume/profit. Doesn't matter how many times you distill it if you're not throwing out the bad stuff.
More distillations equals more separation of the compounds that evaporate at a different temperature. Cheap stuff will keep now heads and tails in I suppose

Pro tip: Get a small Brita (or equivalent) pitcher. After treating the filter for use, put bottom-shelf vodka (or any clear alcohol) through it once; it will retain the alcohol content but you're effectively distilling it one more time, so it tastes like top shelf. Great way to save money if you have a habit. Just saying.

You have plenty of time and will do plenty wrong probably. Just stick to the badic rules. Only drink in increasing alcohol content. Therefore don't drink wine and then beer. But beer then wine is ok. Dark alcohols and sweet ones will give you worse hangover. And so on.
Popov, New Amsterdam, or Svedka on the cheap end, Chopin (especially the rye one) or St George's Vodka on the mid. Nikka vodka does well in a Vodka Martini. But honestly for a neutral spirit with a cleaner taste, Shochu works nicely on the rocks. Kuro Kirishima is a personal favorite.
For cheap vodka, my go-to has been Odesse Vodka. Doesn't taste bad, it's actually vodka, and it's consistently the cheapest on the shelf for a handle (about $10.50).

I’ve been an insulin-dependent diabetic for over 50 years and when I drink, I have to take care not to get distilled liquor with sugar added. I know it’s fashionable with diabetes “experts” to say that sugar isn’t a problem… I beg to differ. Ethanol already puts a burden on the liver, but sugar (sucrose or fructose, at least) just adds to it - that’s for everyone, not just diabetics like me. (And fructose is the worst, and agave syrup or “nectar” can be 80% fructose: don’t use it, it’s not good for anyone, let agaves be made into tequila instead!)
I have only had 1 vodka hangover in 5 years even a week of drinking a 5th every night because I don’t drink the crap that doesn’t actually say vodka. The 1 exception is Hanger 1 that crap sells for top shelf prices but tastes like lighter fluid and gave me a pounding hangover to next day.

Natural flavor actually isn't sugar. It's what they put in seltzer. It's found in nature technically but extracted on a way that you'd never encounter that much naturally, so In that sense it's not really what one thinks of when they think natural. But I don't think it's related to sugar
A friend used to come over to drink up. We replaced the Seagrams VO with cheaper 4 roses in the same bottle. The dude drank it and never knew the difference. He never brought a bottle with him.
I drink a handle of Titos a week, Zero hangover. It's worth the upcharge i guess. I've only gotten a hangover once after drinking smirnoff and captain morgan on new years. That Skol goes for around $12 compared to Tito's $32. I'm saving the bottles for homebrewing too. It's a win win, I'm saving about $10-$15 per bottle.

I’ve been an insulin-dependent diabetic for over 50 years and when I drink, I have to take care not to get distilled liquor with sugar added. I know it’s fashionable with diabetes “experts” to say that sugar isn’t a problem… I beg to differ.
Ethanol already puts a burden on the liver, but sugar (sucrose or fructose, at least) just adds to it - that’s for everyone, not just diabetics like me. (And fructose is the worst, and agave syrup or “nectar” can be 80% fructose: don’t use it, it’s not good for anyone, let agaves be made into tequila instead!)

What is the cheapest and best vodka for hangover free mornings?
I have only had 1 vodka hangover in 5 years even a week of drinking a 5th every night because I don’t drink the crap that doesn’t actually say vodka. The 1 exception is Hanger 1 that crap sells for top shelf prices but tastes like lighter fluid and gave me a pounding hangover to next day.
My roommate sophomore year of college went through on average; 2 fifths of the cheapest vodka he could get his hands on PER WEEK. Keep in mind we were in flight school. He was pissed that he had to fly on Saturdays. because it cut into his partying time. he went out of his way make sure he had Friday-Sunday off to the point of having classes that overlapped by like 15 minutes. Wild kid
Natural flavor actually isn't sugar. It's what they put in seltzer. It's found in nature technically but extracted on a way that you'd never encounter that much naturally, so In that sense it's not really what one thinks of when they think natural. But I don't think it's related to sugar

A friend used to come over to drink up. We replaced the Seagrams VO with cheaper 4 roses in the same bottle. The dude drank it and never knew the difference. He never brought a bottle with him.

I drink a handle of Titos a week, Zero hangover. It's worth the upcharge i guess. I've only gotten a hangover once after drinking smirnoff and captain morgan on new years. That Skol goes for around $12 compared to Tito's $32.
I'm saving the bottles for homebrewing too. It's a win win, I'm saving about $10-$15 per bottle.
Svedka Vodka is my favorite. Cheap, but smooth, real vodka, and a decent ABV.
