- This is the United Kingdom’s biggest fish and chip challenge. This could also be the worlds biggest fish and chip challenge! Almost 14lbs of food? This is the cod buster food challenge at Mr. chippy x2. London, United Kingdom and all of the UK is known for their British fish and chips. An English style fish and chips is usually beer, battered and served with french fries (CHIPS), mushy peas, beans, curry sauce, and gravy. The fish is normally fried cod, and served at chippy’s (chippies) a takeout style restaurant. We had 40 minutes to eat the giant piece of cod, a monstrous pile of french fries, plus all the traditional sides with buttered bread! We were in the quest of the normally 20 GDP challenge for free and what was supposed to be a T-shirt but they did not have any. Of course, all these things are doubled because we doubled the challenge so 80 minutes and 40gdp. No one had ever attempted this, so this was an undefeated food challenge! Can we set a record for this food challenge that no one can beat? Or will this unbeaten food challenge remain unbeaten? let’s see how British fish and chips compare to those in America and see how the food challenges compare also!

The fish is battered not breaded.
I totally would've poured the gravy over the fries and put ketchup on top. It's a delightful combo!!
The gravy on one side and curry on the other would have made them so much easier to get down.

Most of the UK chip shops have lost the real art of cooking proper fish and chips like the good old days.
Not just the uk. That’s the same here in Australia. Back in the 80’s and 90’s fish and chips was the bomb… now it just don’t taste the same, too oily ( don’t change oil regularly) or over burnt from over frying, and batter sometimes isn’t fresh. Back in the day fish was dipped in batter in front of you before fri3d. Now it’s prepared already, so it’s ready to be fried. Freshness meant everything back then, now it’s about saving money rather than quality

I'd use the bread with the beans, curry and mushy peas. Fries with gravy. Malt vinegar is my favorite on the fish and chips. Funny to hear Scott in the background. Happy birthday belated too
It's crazy how he feels so full but keeps drinking liquids. When I drink water/soda it feels like cement in my stomach.

There is no way to tackle that dish elegantly, yet you created no mess!
Why wouldn't you just do one? Did you you get something for doing two? Also warm water will help loosen the stomach lining and expand your ability to eat more. Cold beverages constrict the stomach. Not trying to be an Ahole. I've only watched a few of your challenges. And NO I could not eat that much!😊 Tater sauce!

For me it’s a combo of salt pepper, salad cream or tartar on the fish, got to have that vinegar and lemon, ketchup and mayo for the chips and only recently discovered curry sauce with the batter goes amazingly, nice for chips too but defo with the batter/fish

Lol, I love Joel and know I have been watching too many of his videos when I start making a drinking game every time he talks about loving ketchup and fish. I swear it's his favorite flavor combo. I also know when I see the food and the time limit whether it's going to be an actual challenge or if he's going to destroy it (he almost always destroys, btw.)
