    I am same age as mr quincy Jones ...I once long time ago at 9years was shoe shine boy in the streets of North Africa...I had violence and dangerous people around me....miraculously I was saved and ended up in the best country in the world, America! Mr Quincy is a very special and gifted man...He survived his dangerous youth environment because he had a special angel that guided him to greatness....He knows music. The whole world is lucky and happy that mr Quincy went back to that room to take another look at that piano.....rest is history, the rest is a rich production of treasure after treasure of music for the world to enjoy...mr. Quincy Jones is a pure genius and his enfluence is everywhere there are creative musicians....You did it all ...thanks mr Quincy jones

    He's a legend indeed 👏. I had the great fortune to see him live in concert a few years ago, and I can tell you: He may be old, but I was starstruck as fuck 🤩. It was a jazz festival with Jacob Collier, Dee Dee Bridgewater and George Benson. As soon as Q came on stage, the audience gave him a standing ovation, and I looked up at the stage and thought, "I can't believe it, that's Quincy Jones, man!". The big band played a few tunes from his catalog, and I had a major flashback. When he and the aforementioned acts took their final bows, I walked even closer to the stage and it was like seeing Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, George Lucas and Quentin Tarantino all on one stage. Each of them has at least two Grammys, so it was like the royalty of the music world. What a night.

    Quincy Jones...the man with the Midas touch. Anything he put his hands on - whether it was music, TV, movies, magazines, or whatever - turned to gold! He has been one of the greatest contributors to the American cultural identity this country ever produced. There's no one I have ever admired more than the man called "Q"!

    When I think about all the ways in which technology has entered our lives I have to admit that being able to record a living history has to be one of the greatest advancements. This interview is priceless as it captures a storyteller at his best. Some people are just special and maybe that is because they are aware that it is ok not being perfect as long as in your process of caring you continue to strive to do your best. Nice interview, Gian, you're a gentle listener.

    Why they don't talk about rod temperton when thriller is mention. He was a great songwriter!

    • @ltravail
      @ltravail 4 года назад +9

      Great to encounter another individual who knows about, admires, and holds in as much reverence as I do the "invisible man" named Rod Temperton. The man (may he rest in peace) was a one-man hit-making machine, having written so many of Michael Jackson's greatest hits, as well as hits for almost everybody who was anybody in those days - including George Benson, Michael McDonald, the Brothers Johnson, Donna Summers, and on and on and on! Pure genius! Yet, he always remained obscure and kept under the radar - except to the handful of people who like to delve deeper into what (and who) is behind some of the most iconic cultural creations of the modern world. What's even more incredible is that we're talking about an Englishman who had such a rare mastery of both funk AND melody that he took R&B to heights never before imagined or ever since exceeded. I can never think of Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson together without thinking of Rod Temperton. No question the level of success Jones & Jackson reached in their collaborations could not have happened without Rod Temperton!

    Great interview. Full of life lessons. More inspirational than the controversial Vulture interview. Unfortunately, many "youngsters" are unaware of Mr. Jones' long, legendary career, and actual believe that his fame arrived in 1978 via Michael Jackson. I love M.J., but his post-Quincy albums did not have the same quality or success.
    The audio quality of a Q.Jones product is better than most - even in this era, where the richness of recorded music is stripped away for easier "streaming". Real music was crippled by corporate greed 20 years ago. (Clear Channel and others with their Playlists that overruled local Disc Jockeys.)
    Thanks, Q for gifting us with your genius. I am fortunate to have grown up during a time when musicianship mattered, and true talent was required.

      Enfantde TheMostHighGOD nah I don't agree, Quincy clearly stated after that incident that he didn't have the money to go see a shrink at the time but by the time he did later on in his life the shrink gave him his money back because he had dealt with the tragedy in his on way. No interviewer would dare to dig further into that when Quincy clearly shut it down...
