I'm MCing a bookshop event with AT and Lauren Beukes next week, my first SF hosting for some years. Hope to post some footage of it on my channel next week. The new one is OK, I thought, but I don't see him topping 'Dogs of War' yet.

Oooh will pop over and take a look. A lot of people are recommending dogs of war ...I've yet to read it!

Really enjoyed your review Robyn, I walked into my Waterstones today and it was staring straight at me. Alas, I have my Tchaikovsky backlog to get through first. Starting Children of Time soon, which should set me off in a good way! :)

This sound great. I’ll definitely get to it. The last one I’ve finished is the Doors of Eden, and Cage of Souls is in hand and up next.

This was my first Tchaikovsky book, I finished it yesterday. I really liked the way it was written, the themes and the characters. And the ending was actually really cool.

I have read the book, I am kind of confused regarding those structures. What are they? A Cenotaph? Whatever those structures are what purpose do they serve? Why is that Planet's biology keen on building it?

Hello, nice overview, I'm hoping to get this for my birthday on Sunday! I often like his writing but do find him a bit hit and miss. The final book of the Final Architecture was pretty bad, i thought, but then there's Children of Time and Dogs of War, both excellent. 🤷‍♂️ still, he's an automatic buy for me. I've got Bear Head on my tbr for April. 👍🚀👽📚🎬
