What I would give to be able to go back in time and buy all the old LPS in stores 😩 my first lps set ever was an Easter set from 2006 I believe. It had a Great Dane number 244 and a shorthaired cat along with a few other pets and accessories. I remember playing with it as a kid and then I guess one day it just disappeared. Then when I got older I realized that it was a really rare set so I searched my garage for it and I found it in a box with all the original pets and accessories. Kids these days will never understand the nostalgia and how amazing it was to have these type of toys as kids.

The LPSmerch website wasn’t helping me, because it only showed her and all of these pets in other sets I didn’t have. Turns out they all came in an obscure LPS board game, of which the LPSmerch site seems to have no record of.
If you want to archive the artwork, heavily suggest finding someone with/buying a photo scanner. :0 I use one to scan my traditional artwork so I'm sure it would work for box art as well

i actually have the pet pairs with the dog and the snail, it was the first lps set i ever got! so nostalgic to see it new in box like that... i still have all the pieces including the hat, which is in decent condition considering how much it was played with. so i dont think the hat being hard to come by really has much to do with the fabric i think maybe a lot of kids just lost theirs. which is understandable because i was awful about losing accessories as a kid

Hi, The first gen all had magnets I believe, (2006-ish. They had pink magnets and blue-grey magnets.) and then somewhere around the 2nd gen (a couple yrs later) I think they switched to no magnets, but rather, holes instead. So to answer your question, No, real LPS do not HAVE to have magnets to be real. There are fakes with holes on the bottom, But I don't think they make Fake LPS with magnets. at least, not that I know of. So if you see a magnet pet, It's usually authentic. Also, If you're buying from CC, then on their page, CC says that all of the LPS they're selling are 100% authentic, Unless stated otherwise. Hope this helps you! 😄
