Many thanks for this video it really shows how difficult it is to search there.
I visited Masca for the first time almost 40 years ago. Then just like now, I don't understand how people can choose to settle there. How did they support themselves and what did they live on, one might askThe village is more than 1000 years old and was founded by the indigenous guanche population. The tour guide described it as the forgotten village which makes sense. it was very difficult to get to and from there and many people living even close by did not know the village. Tourism and better roads changed that. Masca looks very much like the valleys do on the neighboring island of La Gomera.
In La Gomera there are no roads along the coast. Instead, you have to go up a bit and then go down into the various valleys. They use terraces to be able to grow, just like they seem to do in some places in Masca. I'm afraid we never may find Jay considering even dogs find it hard to move around in this terrain. Goats seem to manage better. I pray for Jay and his family.

  • @tubesillyfish

I am from Masca. I would like to thank for this video, showing Jay's last steps. It is tragic, it should never have happened. I know well the territory, I am a hiker, the boy was completely disorientated, I am still regretting his destiny. Masca Valley ends at the point view with the coffee shop. You have entered, following Jay, the next ravine, el barranco de Juan López, abandoned many years ago. I will never forget him. Thank you for your walk.

I can understand why he would cut down to the dirt track and get lost as it’s a dead end so he definitely gone via bush . The phone ping has to be out by a few feet .. Noway he went into that bush unless as Chris said it’s been tossed . Keep up good work Paul 😊

Even if he was still buzzing from gear you would still know that walk is ridiculous , people are talking like he was actually attempting to walk back but it's more likely trying to cut across to find a main Rd to flag a taxi without being seen by whoever he was avoiding

It looks like a very vast area.
If Jay was walking that route there seems to be plenty of sections at the side of the road where he could rest and flag down a car for help.
If he was thirsty and hungry he would have waited at the cafe, if he was ever really on that road.

It makes so much sense that Jay was heading down towards the sea hoping for a beach or some cars, people, normality. He's left the road, started to do a short cut. Phone pinged, continued walking got to the end where this guy stopped recording, was to tired to walk back up so continued to cut across heading down towards the sea. I think he's in the terrain n they've not found him or fallen in the sea.

  • @-TheSingularity-

Have you thought about getting to the point of the phone ping, then trying to work your way back to the main road, as this is what Lucy told him to do, looking for any possible shortcuts back to the main road, having walked that far, a shortcut back to the road sounds like a plausible option.

IF HE EVER LEFT THE BNB IN THE FIRST PLACE THAT IS without delving into the dark theories flying about .
One thing is for sure that boy never left masca on foot definatliy not after seeing this video ,hopefully now UK and interpol will look into it after seeing this what with the family saying they need their help to ,,a very informative video thank you for keeping him in the limelight and raising awareness of the dangers abroad not just with predators but the difference in legal systems /authorities handling of such may justice be found for him and all others missing 🪬🧿

I think the witness is fake,, paid money to lie or being the Airbnb owner is connected to Lucy and is lying about seeing Jay, but even if he was there and went walking and was scared of the lads, surely he could of found a road eventually and flagged a car down it's not Alaska

I'm a searcher, and with an area that big generally a high def drone is used and it records the entire location. The drone/camera has Long/Lat capabilities. The data is downloaded and teams sit and examine the footage via the computer. Programs are used with that data that can pick out a particular color and mark the frame/area/gps so teams can go to that exact area to check it out. It is commendable what you are doing, but viewing all this shaky camera footage isn't doing the missing person any favors, and it quite honestly sensless & maddening.

For me, the first point he’s seen the sea from that road point / route he’s headed in that direction towards the sea over that terrain.
His friend Brad has stated in the conversation they had that Jay stated “He (Jay) said I’m not walking round all that road & he was off road sliding down some stones”. So that tells us he’s gone into that terrain.
And watching this footage I very much doubt Jay as stayed on that road the length of time you have. Especially after a 3 day bender, dehydrated, coming down off drugs, no phone. In this state Jay would’ve been feeling desperate.
& that’s why I’m sensing the first point he’s seen the sea & he’s headed that way.
Sounds grim but I feel you have been closer to Jay than you realise.

Haven't seen this video before and even though it would appear that Jays body may have been found, I wanted to see the route he'd walked. Well done to you for spending so many hours, days searching thru' this terrain, what a nightmare of a place to have to work your way through. How this body has been found at all (even if it isn't his) is mind blowing given how all this area appears to be, it does appear to have been in an area that seems to be off one of those huge ridges. I hope to god this will be a warning to anyone, whatever age you are, to not venture anywhere alone when in a country you're not from - for a million reasons! Also, don't leave your accomodation before fully charging your phone!!! Well done Paul, I hope you go take some time to relax now, as do all the searchers.

Great video Paul!👏🏼 It really puts into perspective fully what the environment out there & even someone fit like you(with mountain climbing experience)feel how difficult it is, so Jay the morning after a rave, and just wearing shorts & t shirts, would of found it extremely hard.
Sorry Pedro can’t let you stay on, as that had been at least one weight off your mind, but hope you manage to secure somewhere such as the B & B.
You have really been a real trooper out there Paul💪🏼, so please don’t think we all don’t see the hard work you are putting in, its just the trolls with nothing better to do than criticise, when they likely have done absolutely nothing to help. They are actually detrimental , as it helps to have people boosting your moral, and thanking you, as you have spent weeks on this, purely to help a fellow Brit be found.
One thing I wanted to say though is please keep your wits about you, more so now, as if this was something nefarious & you one of the only few still searching it could be that you are a target, because if he has been taken, they won’t want him found. Considering the police crew left you on your own that day too, I would make sure you are wary of even the nicest ‘seeming’ people as they could be either media or people with intent on stopping you. Said a prayer for you for safety🙏🏼 Keep up the great work but please take rest too💙👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Great work Paul. If Jay took the route you walked he was heading to the coast for sure - just looking for a route 'off the hill'. From the end of that path to the coast is a couple of cliks - nasty terrain but temps in the low 20's that day so doable even with no fluids. If possible start at the coast and work back from there. Good luck and keep safe.

I truly believe he was already dead by the time the search teams were out there. He could have fallen had a heart attack anything could of happend out there. He needs to be found desperately to bring peace to his family and stop all the crazy theories and absolute horrendous things that are being said about this young lad and his family. I liked being able to follow the whole path with you. After that 25 min mark I got a couple of psychic hits. I feel he tried to walk down towards the ocean, believing he can find his way back following along the coast, however, there is no connection to the beach back to los Christianos, it’s all rocks. He may have collapsed from dehydration and heat exhaustion.
