I struggle to even call this a "Sever Build" tbh - it's more just a "Locran's Talisman + Crown of Lucion + Starless Skies Build"; which seems so far overtuned of a "Set" that it seems to make just about anything work - and might end up in just about everything.
To add to that, I actually really don't like that especially Locran and it's mechanic is a thing now. I felt like stacking Maximum Resource was a pretty cool and unique way to scale Bone Builds - now it's just how everything is scaled. Blood is unique with scaling off of max health - but those builds are all terrible. Shadow scaling with heavy Int investment as well as trying to stack as many Shadow Damage instances as possible for Blighted uptime was pretty cool - but with the Wither Cap and especially the Blighted uber nerf (why not delete the Aspect and roll it into the Capstone? - hell, everything but Ossified needs a rework/major buff), those concepts are completely dead too. I already felt like, despite loving the Necro theme and going for it in every game I can, that Necromancer was already quite far behind in terms of interesting and good design when compared to the other classes, but now it's just downright lame.
only good thing that comes out of this is that maybe core skills might actually be good again. then again with Shard of Verathiel being a thing, maybe not even.
Lucion didn't work on builds that proc damage effects like Ice Spikes, Dust Devils, Andariels (?), Tyraels etc. so I guess these will have to find something else that's broken 😅
Sever we here babyyy. Had a lot of fun messing w Sever in the PTR after watching your stream. Looking forward to the next season after being frustrated w losing some of the fun from other builds this season.
The builds performs well because of ridiculously overpowered generic uniques, despite the key passive not doing anything for it. I don't see how this is anything but bad.
@@flowqi212 ohh they're ridiculously overpowered, my first feedback to them was to nerf these into the ground. But that's not this build's fault, nor will I not recommend the items if they're left in the way they are.
@@MacroBioBoi sure, nothing wrong with using what Blizzard gives us ;). Maybe the more interesting question is, how much essence per second could we realistically stack to make a heavily nerfed Lucion work ^^
Blood Mist, Bone Storm, Decrepify, Corpse Tendrils.... every single Necro build. Makes me sad. We need more variety for our top tier builds. Will for sure be trying Sever in season 5 though
Excited to try this build. Am I missing something on the availability of mythic uniques though? Basing a build around the mythic ring seems a little hard to reach? What’s the option if we’re not lucky enough to get that very very rare drop?
I wouldn't call it "very easy" but many people will be able to craft one in the late endgame... if there is another season reward spark and if they manage to kill Lilith. There should be alternatives to Starless though, right?
@@flowqi212 of course there are. You just copy the legendary ring and put a resource aspect on it. But you should expect to have this item available to you by 1 week of gameplay. I consider that easy to find.
@@MacroBioBoi you think having the first Uber Unique in week one is realistic for many players? I doubt that. Most players won't even touch tormented bosses in week one and even if you finally get 4 sparks you'll have to decide if you immediately spend them to get Starless.
Could you maybe touch on the death of the Shadow Blood Wave Necro… the only viable Necro build for top PvP. This build was the only thing that could kill the best barbs and druids.. but now, with wither nerfed, Necros will not be able to compete at the top levels
2 things I don't really understand here. First, how does this build survive with even less than 30k HP? Second, how is this still resource neutral, with Lucion AND the -7 essence/s aspect? ^^
@@MacroBioBoi ok, so you gotta be fast enough to kill them before they get unstoppable? ^^. Essence per second is 22 if I got the value right, Sever has 20 per cast I think, 10 with Starless ... and with Lucion its still sustainable? 😅 ... Man this helmet is just completely broken 😆
I feel like the probability is astronomically high that these new uniques - locran, lucion - are going to get the nerf bat. They are homogenizing the game in a massive way. I don't font think at the moment I'd be relying on these for my build.
I would call this build "A typical PTR Locran's Talisman + Crown of Lucion + Starless Skies build" where we try different skills that can gain the most. Imagine that Barb will add to this mix Grandpapa with another 100%x critical dmg and Shard of Verathiel with another 300%x for Bash or Flay - LMAO. This game is just broken and it looks like Devs have no idea what they are doing. Other than that you did a nice job here!
Exactly, these 3 items will be an autoinclude for most builds. Sever, Surge, both Spears...everything except Bone Spirit because you want the guarantee overpower. At this point, I'm better off playing a Barbarian if we are going to use the same uniques 🤷♂️
Is that point in Shadowblight really worth it over just... putting that point into gaining the extra 3 essence and getting that marginal extra scaling on the amulet?
@@MacroBioBoi I guess maybe it was the difference between PC and console then? I remember you stating that sever performed differently or maybe I am just imagining things?
Does the the aspect of occult dominion ( which increases the skeleton minion numbers by 2) boosts The aspect of great feast that gives 45% dmg(x) per sacrificed minion ?
The fact that so many content creators with Blizzards ear to their mouth never mention item slot disparity and its effect on balance is pathetic. The best 2 glasses have more slots than the bottom 3. More slots disproportionately favor those classes with the new master working and tempering. Until they add a 1.5x offensive slot, like a belt, for duid/necro/sorc the game is dead.
All this theory crafting from someone who knows how necro works more than blizzard only to struggle in a 105... I just think blizzard needs to stop hating on necros, now with spirit born coming we will get pushed even further down the list to get any attention.
@@MacroBioBoiI am hoping. I've made about 30+ necros over 4 seasons + PTR. Old school bone spear was nice, infinity and even your last blight build. But I stopped mid season 4 and went to the dark side. Bash barb was like playing a whole different game lol now I have a WW that clears 101s in 90sec.

I think what Sever needs is a Barb buff for sure.
6 weapons! 4 seems low when I see all these damage multipliers for Necro 🤔

To be fair, every build in S5 will be a Lucian/Locran build
These items will get nerfed hard. Esp. the helm

Should leave the shadowblight key passive out of the guide in protest. A point into max essence would prob give you similar output

Today is the day! Excited for the stream. Appreciate all you do my man.
Been so absorbed by Elden Ring lately that the thought of even coming back for a week in season 5 was just... ugh. Until you said Sever. Goddamnit!
I hope so because it's my favorite Necro skill. It just looks so damn cool.
Season 2 I made a Sever Necromancer. Turned it into infinimist. Would be sweet to just rock that build.
The builds performs well because of ridiculously overpowered generic uniques, despite the key passive not doing anything for it. I don't see how this is anything but bad.
This build functions because of items in the game. That's every build in the game.
Literally every streamers feedback (even Robs!) was, that these items are not healthy for the game. I guess we'll see if Blizzard listened.

The class has no survival otherwise, a lot like how sorc builds have 20 shields in every build 😂
We need a reap build because it sounds very funny
They killed my #1 favorite build but they brought curse aura back. Man, I hate D4 devs soooooo much right now.
Badass intro 😊
just when i thought i was going rogue for s5 u pull me back in! 😅
I was gonna hold out on rolling necro until blood builds were good but I think you've convinced me
can you make a minion build using ring of sac soul+xfals with blood moon britches corpse explosion with blight misha pool ultimate lazy build
Season of Lucion + starless skys
i think using bone graft is a good idea but it's up time seems low because of the lack of cdr.

if there is anything like the resplendent spark reward in season 4, mythics will be farmable
1 mythic is very easy to get since you can craft them.
