Hello fellow Minnesotan! I’m sure you’re very NICE! Smile! Glad you like the cast-on. Me, too. It’s just more comfortable for me. My next episode is coming up soon. Hey. We’re having melting temperatures today, no small deal here in MN.
As another Marine Mills Folk School instructor said to me: "Liz is a National Knitting Treasure!" You truly are! I'm so glad you are on this platform to share your knitting skills and positivity :)
Nanc, I can only say thanks. Thanks for all your hard work to help make the Marine Mills Folk School the success it is. What a wonder! I am so privileged to get to host this very group at this very folk school.
You ROCK, Liz. Loved your first video with the lesson and a story - a perfect style for you. So grateful that I can continue to learn from you. Your enthusiasm and energy is inspiring.
Well thanks, John, nice to have you on board. Thanks for acknowledging the planning that goes into each episode, too. Do you have any suggestions for low-stress, but fun projects at this time? Stay well and have a good day! - Liz
Congratulations on your youtube channel, Liz! You are SPECTACULAR!! What a joy to watch, you’re so interesting, informative, and I love your sense of humor, too!
You’re welcome! Jennifer Berg does do a beautiful job in her designs, doesn’t she! Glad you enjoyed learning about her. Please join me for my next podcast coming up very soon. Happy Day! Liz
Hi Liz. It's very nice to meet you. I found you quite by accident. I opened up my RUclips (the main page) and there you were. I clicked on your thumbnail and I was instantly hooked! I love your content and your creations are beautiful. I loved your story of the ice fisherman. Thankfully, it was a happy ending. I am 58 years old and live in northern Maine with my husband of 41 years. I both knit and crochet and also enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I wish you all the best in this new endeavor here on RUclips. Oh, and the giveaway yarns are exquisite. Your cast-on tutorial is the way my maternal grandmother taught me when I was about 10 years old. I loved her heart-health tip at the end. Have a great week.
Cindy, what fun to read your comment! I loved hearing about how your grandmother taught you to cast on. Is she the one who also taught you to knit and crochet? You live in a part of the world that has harsh winters, so you could no doubt relate to the fisherman story. Every year in MInnesota, some fishermen are lost on the ice, and it was such a relief to us when this fisherman was safe at home! For the most part, those of us who love to knit, crochet, and read don’t mind winter so much. It gives us the perfect excuse to curl up under a warm blankie and create something beautiful. Congratulations on 41 years of marriage! Are you like me? I am so thankful another human being knows me this well and still loves me! I’m happy you found me by accident. - Maybe it wasn’t an accident! Have a beautiful day! Liz
Liz, you are amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, incredible energy and spirit with us. I have learned so much from you already and look forward to closing some of the many gaps In my knitting skills! Congrats on your RUclips debut!
What a pleasure to see your podcast. Loved it. The yarn was beautiful too! Because you were talking about the fisherman it made me think of the yarn colorway as "The Whale and the Sea" also reminded me of reading Moby Dick and how much I enjoyed it. Looking forward to many more of your episodes.
What a clever name for that colorway! I loved that story too - and the fact that it was inspired by an actual whale! Thanks for your encouragement. Have a lovely day! Liz
Well hello, Wynn. Thanks for watching! I’m sure I could learn lots of quilting from talented YOU, and I bet it would be fun, too! Stay safe and well tucked in at home! - Liz
Loved watching you and listening to your stories. Having your video playing while drinking my coffee this morning felt like I had a friend over here with me!
Thank you, Gabrielle. The name came to me in an instant years ago when I first started using Ravelry. It stuck. Thanks for your interest and for joining me as I learn how to do this! Have a beautiful day. Liz Towers
Congratulations! It's great! I've never done a long tail cast-on, but think I could while watching this again! You are a great teacher! I look forward to trying it!
Thank you, Aimee. You’re an encourager! (And an encourager is always nice to have around!) Give it a try. The long tail CO is a good, basic technique to have in your tool box of skills. I appreciate your interest.
Such a compliment coming from you! I would say the same about your books. Well-done, accessible, completely engaging stories that once begun, I cannot put down. What about that Virgil Wander!?
Hi! So happy to meet you. Your logo is the best, the drum and sticks playing up with the ball of yarn is great for telling about you. Are you the designing artist there too? How long have you played a drum ? Thanks for all the knitting information. It was fun and very helpful. Hope to see you again very soon. Stacy in New Jersey
Hi, Stacy. Thanks for noticing my logo. To make it, I took a photo of actual knitting on drumsticks positioned over an actual drum. That photo was turned over to Reed Enger, an excellent graphic artist, and he created the logo. He did a terrific job, didn’t he! My dad taught me to play drums when I was 9 and I just never stopped. Are you a musician? We’re presently working on our next episode, Stacy, and hope to hear more from you again, too. Happy Day! Liz
I am so glad I found you. A knitter who is from Minnesota! Me too. South of Rochester. I like the cast on less wear and tear on the hand!
