The very first transit of Venus across the sun was observed by someone in an over cast location as the clouds were breaking up. (or building to an over cast sky) The sun behind a cloud that was just right in it's thickness to let some light through. Sounds of "hey what is that" popped up and people took it from there to find out. It is wonderful when the mind is able to seek answers. I am setting up a telescope and camera to try and capture this, hope the sky cooperates.
it's all in your personal outlook like how in the mind of a child a camping adventure in the backyard is experienced in his own Personal universe, throughh is eyes and his mind's eye, is MUCH MORE RICH and FULL than a 38 year old man, going on a world trek into hitherto unkown regions and making vast, never before made, important discoveries which advance the race it comes back to an individuals own personal Perspective and ability to breath life, adventure and wonder into any situation
I'm sorry, but there's no contest. Space beats Tahiti every time. And with Cook being of an inquisitive mind; I think he would have given anything to go to space. :]
I'm watching the live coverage, I've got to say its great but I'd like to see more of the planet and the transit of venus and not stupid segues and shit. I like how you assume people watching it know nothing and want to be loaded with information. Just show the damn transit!
Gee, can't you go anywhere on RUclips without encountering foul and crude language. If you, are anyone else, wants to comment, use civilized and polite terminology.
We had an amazing view of the transit in Australia. It was an amazing sight! Great video, well put together!
Thank NASA stuff for this great and unique oportunity to see transit venus from outspace... good job..!

No matter where it is the best, there better be a two showers a day option.
Neat!!!
2:08 OMG so lucky... i would love to have a break room like that!
In 2015 you can pay $150.000 to orbit the earth!
It is June fith but I not gonna look at sun just to see a tiny dot called Venus it's 2012 I'd love to see it though :( DX
Nope. Just the orbits of us and Venus. It' parallax. Sun flips are very slow processes that take thousands of years.
remember to charge the battery and bring extra SD card. :P
