What I would have given to have been told by my big sisters that they loved me and were proud of me! Instead I was punched, slapped, insulted, humiliated, harassed, sleep deprived, etc, etc. for 6 weeks. It took a toll. This was over 35 years ago and I am sooooooo glad things are changing. We still have a ways to go!

My niece, Gloria Ortiz worked TIRELESSLY for them. As I said b4, she wanted to give back what they had given her : the gift of a purposeful life in the service of others. I'm blown away by the energy. It's amazing. I've never seen anything like this I wish I could experience it in person. These ladies are fabulous and set an amazing example for other young women.
I loved watching these young ladies become a part of a sisterhood. Something I've always wanted but life took a different direction after my mom passed away years ago.
It's very inspiring and I'm sure that the feeling of the ceremony is very different. To include the events that led to that point. Being present in that moment. That's like graduation in the service.
Looking at this really brought me to tears my daughter heading to college something I never got to experience I always wanted to pledge delta but my life chose a different route Congratulations ladies

I must say I've been watching so many of these presentations of the D9 system fraternity and sorority, well done , really, but there is a spiritual process that's taking place here.
It was so detailed . I’ve watched others cross (men and women) and the others were not nearly as detailed and organized as THESE beautiful black women.
