    Liquid water may flow on Mars on a summer day on Mars where the temperature may get up to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celcius) near the equator. However, at night, the temperature can plummet to about minus 100 degrees F (minus 73 C).

    Not sure why people aren't talking about the gravity issues on Mars making it unreasonable for a permanent habitat for humans even once it's terraformed. The bone density loss alone is hard to get around. Even moon colonies are also near out of the question.

      The gravity is about 40% of earth. A little more than double the moons.
      realistically people who plan to never leave mars will likely be ok. As the real issues more to deal with higher gravity than they use to causing them issues.
      you could counter this by carrying weight.
      200 pound man would weigh about 80 pounds on mars. They be fine with about 80% of earth gravity. so They have to carry around 80 more pounds.

    It takes 7 months to travel to mars and 7 to come back, we currently dont have a spaceship that can carry enough fuel for the mission.

    • @sikhatheist651
      @sikhatheist651 9 лет назад

      +maxwell smart Why are you counting the travel time as if the engines are going to be burning throughout the journey? Once it's pointed in the right direction, there is no need for any fuel (minor corrections not withstanding). Then, you only need fuel to put it in orbit, land and take off. The gravity on mars is also much lower than on earth. We can absolutely go there and come back with our current technology.

    comppro: consider the inherent properties of h2o. in order for its state to be other than vapor (a denser state ), regardless of temperature, the ambient pressure must be well above 608 Pa. big science has offered no 'way around' this simple fact. the claim that the martian 'soil' is 2% h2o (hydrated) also does not fly. big science has some serious issues, these days.

    I don't get why you would leave it to private companies to go to Mars. As i see it there's no profit in it and there always needs to be some profit made from it will private companies go there. Well at least in the short term there won't be any profit. If there's ever going to be a profit made from Mars i think it'll come from mining rare metals and send them back to Earth and i just don't see that happening in the coming 50 years as you need to send rockets from Mars to Earth, big mining operations and a big colony.

    • @frisianmouve
      @frisianmouve 9 лет назад

    • @gmork1090
      @gmork1090 9 лет назад

      +frisianmouve And yet that's what we'll have when the idiots who are into the Mars One program get there. With no psych evaluations for the people who go there (because most of the people who get to go are super rich and you can't tell them they can't go because they're psychopaths) the reality show that is helping fund them right now will be raking in the profits as Earth can watch them go insane and kill each other somehow or another. When has morally questionable ethics ever stopped television from cashing in? Never.

    • @DrIBeast

      how much do you think rich people would pay for chance to go to mars. Own Land on mars. Mars is likely the largest deposits of iron in the solar system. it's entire surface is covered in iron oxide(Rust). You can remove the oxygen by chemical reaction leaving Raw pure iron on large scales.

    In Deuteronomy 28, Almighty God YAHWEH, told Moses that He would Bless the Nations by making it RAIN (WATER), but, Israel would have to worship the True Living God only, and keep His Commands, and not worship any other false gods (small letter 'g'). All Scientists in CERN Geneva say that the most abundant Element in the World is Hydrogen (God Particle). Hydrogen 2 Oxygen = WATER... WATER= LIFE. Saint Peter said 2000 years ago in 2 Peter 3 Verse 5: They purposely ignore the fact that long ago God gave a command, and the heavens and the earth were created. The earth was formed out of WATER (Hydrogen/God Particle) and by WATER (HOLY SPIRIT).
    The Holy Bible John 19 Verse 34: One of the soldiers, however, plunged his spear into JESUS's side, and at once BLOOD and WATER (HOLY SPIRIT/GOD PARTICLE) poured out.
    1 John 5. The Witness about JESUS Christ.
    JESUS Christ is the one who came with the WATER (HOLY SPIRIT) of His Baptism and the BLOOD of His death. He came not only with the WATER, but both the WATER and the BLOOD. And the Spirit himself testifies that this is true, because the Spirit is TRUTH. There are three witnesses; the SPIRIT, the WATER, and the BLOOD; and all three give the same testimony.
    God Bless!
    There is many places in The Holy Bible where we can compare Almighty God YAHWEH to Our Lord JESUS Christ. The Jews must just read Psalm 53, Psalm 110 and Jeremiah 31 Verses 31 to 35, and they will see the similarity.

      @gmork1090 9 лет назад

      +Rick James There are between two hundred billion up to a max of one trillion stars in this galaxy alone. The largest galaxy we know of has an estimated ONE HUNDRED TRILLION stars. Earth is 165 QUADRILLION miles away from this galaxy's center. While maybe not crawling with life like in the Star Wars and Star Trek universes, life is in no way unique to this planet. It's impossible. A planet just needs to not be a gas giant (maybe?) and be in the goldilocks zone of its star for it to harbor life as WE know it. For some weird reason they could all be dead today (super intergalactic Halo ring activations maybe? :D), but in the near 14 billion years this Universe has been around, there has probably been lots and lots and lots of life forms out there. The hardly likely thing is us running into any of them. The radio signals we have been sending out for the past hundred years have barely gone 200 light years in each direction, when the galaxy is 120,000 across. Until we can fold space or something as drastic no one will ever know we were here and vice versa.

    4:15 she says ''we can dig into middle mars and colonize and create our own little martian hobbits''....what?? and maybe a cave troll will take you out to dinner and explain the origins of the universe. Gandalf the red.....Richard Hoagland told us about water on mars 20 years ago

    +Jay Millz the gravity on mar is stronger then on the moon so people wouldn't bounce around. also simple excise helps fight bone and muscle lost. iss astronauts do it everyday so that they can fight against any loses.
    my phone can do more then all the Apollo mission rockets/landers combined, we should have helped build a moon station instead of the well built iss. (international space station)
