Glad you guys enjoyed. Definitely listen to his other albums: Five Leaves Left and Bryter Layter. I wish more people knew about him, but I'm glad that Volkswagen commercial exposed him to the masses otherwise I probably would've never heard his beautiful music.
The dude on the left's face at 7:16 was literally me the first time I heard the album. I was blown away. I was like "How does nobody know this man?" This album still never gets old. A monumental piece of individual work to me.
Little late to the party, but I've been a big Nick Drake fan for many years. I love watching people find him. I hope you all do more of his stuff soon if you haven't already! Thanks for posting.
I've been a big Nick Drake fan for over 25 years and the song The things behind the sun is my favorite. It's such a surreal song and the melody and the music is incredible.
Here's a connected recommendation guys. Nick had a musician friend called John Martyn who recognised Nick's depression. The song is called Solid Air (Same name as the album) and is amazing. Even better the double Bass player is Danny Thompson the same player Nick used on Five Leaves Left. I urge you to listen to solid air as it gives a real insight into Nick's mental state at that time.
This is the most gentle, most depressingly comforting album I've ever heard.

Things behind the sun is a handy tune to learn on guitar

"Non of you stand so tall, pink moon's gonna get you all" is a friendly little joke: nick drake was over 7ft tall
Where did you read he was that tall?
@@R0CKDRIG0 lmao it’s not true, nick was 6’3
@@wyattjohnson3714 but he had inverted 7" inch subway shoes to hide the fact because he was scared of giantiaphobia at it WAS the early 70s.
Garbage! 😭🤣💩
Jerry says people in the 70's were stupid, but then claims to love the music from the 70's? 😂🤣🤪
Not keen on these bitsa songs. You've got to listen to the whole thing.
Yo pin this comment for no reason
