- During the reign of King Henry VIII, there were roughly 70,000 people who were executed in England and many were condemned due to the King's religious changes. Richard Whiting was the Abbot of Glastonbury Abbey and he was a powerful man inside of England's religion but Henry VIII attacked the monasteries and dissolved the monasteries. He targeted Glastonbury Abbey and arrested Richard Whiting who was then executed in his late 70s. But he was subjected to a harrowing execution, where he was hanged, drawn and quartered and his head was then placed on a pike high above his former Abbey. It was a harrowing and humiliating execution for an elderly peaceful man who did little wrong.

Henry was a monster.
The very worst part is, when he first became king he was very loving and supportive and fun it was a great king! After his accident, he completely flipped his switch and thousands were murdered as a result.
Meanwhile in Catholic countries people who didn't follow the Catholic faith were tortured and burned alive as heretics. There was a lot of cruelty and horrific treatment of people in those days. In every country.
GREAD is a bad and those two had it.
They butchered that poor old man. Henry is burning in hell right now for this.
Henry was a tyrant but it must also be borne in mind that the monks were no angels. Monasteries were notoriously corrupt and abuse by monks was rife as they considered themselves above the law and answerable only to Rome.
Henry will burn in hell of what he did.
Brutal time's in many countries sadly. Heretics were burned to death by the Catholic Church.
