Thanks Zane and Mathew for letting us take a look through your salvage yard before father time takes it all away. Several vehicles sparked my interest but when you showed the mid sixties Chevy wagon just sitting in the field, it brought me back. My dad bought a used 66 Chevy Belaire Station wagon way back when we all were kids. All 8 of us fit in there just fine. We'd go to the drive-in and watch a family movie in out pajama's. (the kids). Take a ride to the White Mountains or to a local swimming hole. Have a weenie roast as Dad called "cooking hot dogs on a grille". Brought back some good family memories. I do wonder if that is a complete Wagon and if it is for sale. I'd love to resurrect that one and pick up my remaining brother and sisters for a ride to "Forest Lake" just one more time. lol..Thanks, for the memories. N.Mathew Carter
Hey!! 😃 I'm glad this brought back some good memories! *Made my day to read your comment!* Sounds like you all had a nice time when you were little. I know they were selling most of the older cars. Hello Zane; What a great video. It was a trip down memory lane. I had a Jeep station wagon like the one you showed. It would be really amazing if all those vehicles could tell their story. Thank You.

Cool video! The small red car at 14:45 and 18:00 is a German car called a Lloyd. These were built from around 1952 through 1961-62. They had 2 cylinder air cooled engines and 4 on the tree manual transmissions. They were also front wheel drive and had suicide doors. They are great little cars. This one is about a 57 or 58 at the latest. It's also the basic 19hp motor vs the 25hp fancier TS model. If I were closer I'd save it for my fleet, then I'd be up to 6!
Oh, 6! 😃 It's awesome you have a few of those cars Alan. I appreciate the view and information as well. I've never seen one before I toured this yard. Neat looking, that's for sure. I seen you subscribed too, it means a lot! Talk to you later 🙂👍
Thanks for the kind words Ed. I greatly appreciate that! My computer didn't like the video because of the duration. I'm just glad it turned out. Take care 😁
Hey Zane. That was an amazing video. I enjoyed every second of it. What an amazing collection of vintage steel. I could spend hours there, walking around. Imagining how these machine were when new. The people who owned them. Operated them. Imagine. all that equipment was once new, potentially sat on a dealers lot or show room. Even the steam engine.
Good Video Zane I Had a 80 El Camino years ago I called it a truck and A Friend also called it a truck when I bought a Roadrunner hood home to his house from a salvage yard
A big thank you to Matthew!!!!! I loved the late 50s Ford dump truck at the beginning. I used to have a 59 F700 fire truck with that body style and unfortunately sold it. Had the original 292 V8. The DT466E is exactly where it needs to be in the junk yard. The mechanical ones were fantastic the electronic ones are junk. I wonder if the like new Cadillac near the end is for sale? I would buy that and drive it home.
Oh yeah, the electronic DT466 was in the right place. LOL 😁 I'm glad to see a comment from you Kyle! Hope things are going well. That Cadillac was *immaculate* to say the least! 😮
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE thanks Zane. Doing well just extremely busy; reason for the late reply. Yeah we have 3 IH fuel trucks with them and they are garbage dumps on wheels. We will never buy another IH again. The Ford L8000, Peterbilt, and Freightliner we have all 3 have the 8.3 Cummins and they are Excellent 👌. The 8.3 Cummins is my favorite diesel engine. Yeah I would love to have that Cadillac. Be floating down the road on a cloud 🤣😅😂
Great walk through ! And a big thanks to Matthew for letting you do that ! That cab over international auger truck was a looker ! Zane we need more COE trucks !!! 😳🤔👍
I used to have a '74 Ford Ranchero, they are cars but back then cars and trucks would share a lot of drivetrain components. Mine had a 400m V8, a C6 automatic, and 3.50:1 rear gear in the 9-inch axle. But it had the suspension of a car so it didn't have much for a payload. They were really meant to have the comfort of a car with only a bit of cargo capability. Very much in the same vein as a Honda Ridgeline or the new Ford Maverick today, but way cooler.
Hey! That's cool you used to own one! 😁 I actually like the looks of the Maverick, even though they are ugly. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving a kind comment. It really means a lot Harvey! 🙂 Take care!
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE Good here. Just got my motorcycle running after 7 years. I videoed the disassembly, but decided not to post any of it due to complete incompetence on my part! I guess the real motorcycle mechanics would have gotten a good chuckle out of it, but it pretty worthless otherwise.
Great tour of a dyeing type of bone yard. It was nice of them to allow you access. That little red wagon that you thought was an Opal Is a Crosley. The engine in it was also used in outboard motors.
Oh, hey! That's pretty cool they were used for outboards too. 😀 Thanks for mentioning what it was Steve. I'm thankful you tuned in and left a kind comment. That really means a lot. Take care and have a great Sunday evening
Glad to see new content. I figured you were probably like me right now and too busy with the "have to" projects to get to the "want to" ones. Thanks for taking the time to put out another great (as always) video! Thanks to Matthew too for allowing you to do it. So much cool trucks and cars.. wish I where closer I'd love to buy a few things from your video and take a look around to see what you may have missed..
Really enjoyed the video Zane! A lot of those vehicles are in very good shape for their age. I’m sure with a little elbow grease some of those engines could even run again. Of course not every vehicle at the lot is salvageable, but loads of parts that people could use for their own restorations. Big thanks to Matthew for allowing this footage to be shown on his salvage lot. Great to hear from ya Zane have a good one bro😀👍!

That light blue Mopar four door in front of the blue Biscayne at 27:50 looks an awful lot like the 73 Plymouth Satellite my mother used to have when I was a kid.
Thanks Zane! I think I remember asking for “explore” videos and you delivered! Not nearly the number of places like this in Canada the US has so many it’s incredible. I don't know if you've ever checked out the place out on Hwy C, a couple miles outside of Bourbon. I don't know how my Dad got a hold of the property owner but we were allowed to walk around there a couple years ago. Lots of Corvairs and Opal GTs.
You talking about the place on the right by the power line cut? 🙂👍 If so, I talked to the fella a while back and got to take a look at the vehicles 👀 Nothing too rare but very cool none the less. Thanks for watching 🔧🔩
Hey Zane, good to see ya! To answer your question early in the video, haven't watched it all yet. The ElCamino is a car by my Norwegian standards. I have to admit that I haven't driven one, but from what I understand it is not more 'heavy duty' than it's sisters or brothers body shapes. I still consider it a pickup, a pickup car, not truck.
I can agree with that Eirik 😄 I've always considered them a car as well. I'd like to have one for just a cruiser. Hopefully things are going well for you my friend. Take care and be safe
I should have, I just sadly didn't have much time. I had to move quickly to cover soo much. I'm glad I still had the opportunity though. I appreciate you stopping by Richard. Hope you enjoyed the video and take care 🙂👍
That would be handy! 😁 I bet that old truck has seen some things. Looked like it had walking beam rear suspension in it. I should have showed it closer but I didn't have much time. Take care and thanks for stopping by 😃
Oh, I hope so too! There were quite a few cars sold already. He said there were two Chevelle's that were bought by a guy in California. Thanks for swinging by 😀
@HODGE_PODGE_DODGE_GARAGE Now I've seen it all. And I'm not really sure how to put this. But it kind of gives me peace. Especially here 🇧🇻 'old iron' is associated with pollution and disgrace. Even my with daily, the only 18 year old Toyota HiAce diesel van, "you should wreck it and go buy electric!" is the general people's attitude. ENOUGH said. Great video! Can't wait to see what you pulled out
That's sad Eirik! Seems like the US is leaning that way as well. 😕 It's nice to see this old iron still in existence. I hope you're doing well my friend 😀
does your camera use micro SD card i have a couple 64gig i will never use if that would help you out and they are the fast ones for camera's let me know and will send them to you
That's very kind of you my friend! 🙂 I'm not sure but my NoPro camera uses the "Sandisk Extreme Plus" cards. they act weird if you don't use the recommended ones. That's kind of you to offer. Send me an email if you get the chance 😁
"Cool look at the little Morris!" 5 seconds later "3 window... *pained whimper" Technically that's not a crane it's a winch arm, crane arms are pneumatically or hydraulically lifted/lowered and traversed, that's just a mechanical arm that gets the winch line up higher and off to the side.. from what I can tell. Both those F6's should have the flathead V8 under the hood.. I believe the 21 stud at that point. BTW when you do videos like this, look under the hood and see what engine they have/if they still have one. I have a thing for Corvairs.. I have NO CLUE why.. I prefer the later 65+ ones though. That plane looks like your typical Cesna. El Camino was never a truck, they were built on car platforms from day one and Chevrolet called them a Utility Car. Ford on the other hand designated the Ranchero as a 1/4 ton Truck and they got upgraded brakes and suspension components compared to the car versions.. Can you tell my first car was a 1969 Ranchero? :P That thing had MASSIVE drum brakes on it that were an easy/cheap upgrade for a Mustang.. they were 4 1/2 inches wide. That Royal would've had a Gen 1 354/392 Hemi. I found out that some of those old Kenworths had Detroit Diesels in them, all the way from a 8V71 up to a 20V71 and a 12V92T.. it'd be interesting to see what's under the hood.... probably just a Cat or Cummins. I kind of want to find an old bus with a 6-71 in it.. it'd get better mileage than our truck and at least I'd have somewhere to live if shit goes sideways. "....A Rambler Wagon... that's a rare car... You know people would remember seeing such a rare car..." I wish I could afford to do what I want to.. Kind of want to start a channel called Rustorations where I take cars that are too rusty for most people to consider spending the time to fix them, and fix them. Make any panels that need made and bring them back, even if only up to primer and sell them from there, just to save these old cars from rotting away.. Unfortunately I don't have anywhere near the funds, tools or acreage to do so. Hey if you want that power wagon, all you need is the cab and vin plate.. you can build everything else from there and piece it together like your Internationals.. Give it a pair of Dana 80's and it'll be far better than they ever were, there's your perfect home for that 12V Cummins you have, put an Allison or a NV5500 behind it and a good transfer case and you'll be set. *pained whimper #2 442!! OMFG I've wanted one of those since I first got a model of one when I was 13!... Though honestly I want a W30... 455 Tri Power, but with gas hovering around $6/gal for regular, the 350 is a better idea.. plus it's basically a Cleveland. (Rocket 350 and 351C were designed by the same guy and share a lot of features like deep skirting, recessed timing set, poly angle valves/canted valves, poor oiling system etc) That one looks like a 68/9 by the grille. This shows you how bad gas has gotten around here, I've even been looking at buying a little Japanese car like and old Datsun 510.. I even had the bright idea of buying a Volvo 544 and instead of swapping in a 289/302 (which would be seriously fun) I was thinking you could swap in a Mini S 1.6L and have almost the same amount of power and twice as good mileage, especially with all the smog stuff deleted. Converting an engine never offered as a RWD isn't the easiest thing to do though. 35:25.... "nope don't know what it is.." Kharman Ghia followed by Willys Overland. 38:30 looks like a 1939/40 Ford/Willys. The Mustang after that is a 67/8 you can tell by the fake vents in front of the rear tires. That 4 cyl plus that banjo rearend and those super square doors were from Model T's.. the Model A's have much more rounded doors and a bigger "normal" rearend. That's what those twisted up bodies are. I'd love to have a Model T to fix up and hot rod.. I mean hell (I think I told you) I've got my great grandpa's transmission adjuster wrench/ratchet from his old Model T hanging up on the wall in my room.
Yeah, I wish there would have been more time for me to look. My camera was overheating as well. I need to build a shield for it. I had no idea the Ranchero was listed as a 1/4 ton. That's pretty cool! Oh yeah, the Power Wagon has already had me losing sleep! The 442 will hopefully get rescued! Yeah, it's cool you have his adjuster wrench! 😁 I would hang onto it for good. Thanks for stopping by my fiend. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Take care and I hope to catch you next time 🙂
I just ran across your video . I am very interested in a pair of wheels or rims at 23 min 18 sec on an old maybe late 1940's MACK Truck on the front axle . They have 6 lugs or are 6 bolt rims and look like 20" rims . I'm looking for 20" bud style 6 bolt rims for my 1952 International Truck with a specific bolt pattern as the rear axle are dually wheels and the same rims are on the front axle also . It was 5 months ago in Salem Missouri at Schwartz Auto Salvage . If you can get back to me and let me know . I'll give you the exact measurements of the bolt pattern and wheels . They run 8.25 x 20" tires so the rims need to be 8" wide for that size of tires . Thank You , ZAK !!! Do a response to this comment on this video so we can exchange contact info PLEASE !!!!!!
I'm not 100% certain if they still have the wheels you're talking about. They were selling quite a bit of the vehicles/parts from this place when I stopped by for the video. If you Google Schwartz auto salvage in Salem Missouri, it will give the phone number. Only there during the week 🙂👍

They may sell that one too! It's a place called Schwartz auto salvage in Salem Missouri. If you call them ask for Matthew. Nice fella 😁👍
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE Thank you! You know, we were a poor working-class family. Didn't have much. But those days were the happiest days of our lives, thanks to our incredible parents. They never ever failed us. Dad passed; Mom is 91 next month. Where does the time go?

Thanks for stopping by Brian! 😁 I'm gunna lose sleep over that power wagon LOL. Hope you're doing well my friend. Take care 🙂
Hello Zane; What a great video. It was a trip down memory lane. I had a Jeep station wagon like the one you showed. It would be really amazing if all those vehicles could tell their story. Thank You.
I'm glad to hear my video could bring back some good memories for you Don 🙂👍 I truly appreciate the kind comment my friend. Oh yeah, most of these vehicles have some interesting stories I'm sure. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving a kind comment. Take care and be safe 🔧🔩
My favorite was the H60. I ran a H90 in the Army. It was a mid 60’s model. Thanks for the fun.
Oh, That's cool Mark! 😮 I bet it was fun making roads with a big grader like that. Thanks for stopping by Mark. I greatly appreciate that my friend 🙂

That's very true Stephan. Makes you wonder how it ended up there. Hope you're doing well my friend 😁

Oh yeah David! That Cargostar was solid! Thanks for stopping by David 😁 I greatly appreciate it!

Glad to see new content. I figured you were probably like me right now and too busy with the "have to" projects to get to the "want to" ones. Thanks for taking the time to put out another great (as always) video! Thanks to Matthew too for allowing you to do it. When I was a little kid, back in the early 60's, my Dad used to take me through the local salvage yards searching for parts for his projects, this was a trip down memory lane. Really enjoyed the video Zane! A lot of those vehicles are in very good shape for their age. I’m sure with a little elbow grease some of those engines could even run again. Of course not every vehicle at the lot is salvageable, but loads of parts that people could use for their own restorations.

Oh, Ok 🙂 Thanks for the information. Wish I knew more about the Mopar muscle cars. Hope you're doing well 🙂
"Cool look at the little Morris!" 5 seconds later "3 window...
You know people would remember seeing such a rare car..."
I wish I could afford to do what I want to..
