- hi everyone!!! finally, FINALLY, my new mane 8 has arrived!!!!
i've had this group for nearly 5 years now and it was time they got an update. and to commemorate, i wanted to do a big meaty speedpaint like the good ol times!!!!!!
a lot of things have changed, and if you're interested, you can check out the official reference sheet for all of them with all of the changes in the description here: www.deviantart...
but basically tl;dr
some parents have switched around (i no longer have rarishy in my next gen and instead rarity is with blueblood and fluttershy is with trouble shoes & twilight and applejack are now single mothers instead of being married to moondancer and coloratura respectively) - due to that, an additional character has been added alongside heartthrob (a later addition that became part of the squad due to dating darling), port-o-bella (aka bel).
many of the designs have changed either only slightly or significantly - florina no longer exists and has been replaced entirely by rose gold, but some of her spirit remains in the accessories i've given rose. all of them (except heartthrob) have had their cutie marks redesigned to better fit their personalities and updated special talents.
basically i've just become a better designer and i'm really proud of the group i've made!! i think they've retained their feel while looking so so much better now and that's something that's important to me :-)

Sad to see Florina gone but Rose Gold is such a stunning design that I can’t complain! I still adore Darling’s design, been one of my favorites of yours for a long time!! Amazing job as always!!! ❤️💕

@@krystalthesquirrel4973 i actually almost never used mspaint on this channel back when i did pixel-based art - i used paint tool sai. i've recently been using mspaint more though, along with clip studio paint. i actually love using mspaint nowadays

oh u know, i've thought about doing something like that before, but im not sure how well it'd work out since my style is very "open", the lines don't connect everywhere you know? i guess i could block out base colors but i just worry that it wouldnt look so good in pixel form. i might mess around with a single pony in my base style and see if it works :-)

Why’d you get rid of applejack x rara kid? She had my fav design
i replaced her because in all honesty, she was the one with the least personality 😔 over the years i’d developed the whole rest of the cast so much but i never really connected with her or could say one unique thing about her. i also liked her design which is why i tried to stay at least a little close to it when making rose gold!

@@cloudyskyz2237 yeah! i have that explained in the description of the ref sheet, but long story short, she wanted to have a child of her own but since she’s aromantic, she didn’t have or want a partner to make one with so she used a spell to make one herself!

i probably blocked you - i block anyone i find drawing adult x child ships, favoriting that content or especially commenting on that content. if you have ever done any of these i will have blocked you
Huh... I think I only remember doing some of those for requests for others a while back. I don’t really do those anymore.
I can remove those off my gallery if you wish. Guess maybe I just can’t think of the ships off the top of my head. 🤔
I was thinking of redoing my actual next Gen too anyways. I could put Rarity with someone else other than Spike. Other than that, I can’t recall other adult x child ships I’ve done... or even what you consider child x adult.
My DA name is that same as my current YT name: TheTARDISMistress. I am going through a rebrand though so it’ll change within the next month or so.
@@dragonairlover would they still technically be children ships now though? At the end of the show everyone we know are adults, (the cmc, the cake twins, ect) with canon adult designs. So are you still against a ship even if its using the canon design of one of them as an adult?
@@kalarhifauxe8202 i mean i feel as a rational human being that if my 5 year old daughter or sibling grew up to marry someone my literal age who also knew them as a BABY that’d be fucked up beyond belief. so yeah sorry, even if it wouldnt technically be child x adult it would be creepy as fuck. and no one in their right mind counts the cmc as Grown Adults in their mind anyway - hardly anyone accepts the last episode as CANON let alone what defines these characters actual ages.

I can change things around in my next Gen though. (Like I said, I was planning on doing it anyways.) Guess this was just simply not knowing what you considered child x adult.
I do enjoy your work and your designs but if you don’t want to unblock me, it’s fine... at least RUclips gives me a way to still enjoy and get inspired off your work. :3
