Being a newbie I came right in using the designer edition but I am using the original cameo new from the box. Are there videos for that programming? thank you so much for tutorial as. They are very helpful since I am a visual learner.
I am trying to do this and have my colors grouped that are on top of each other however, it says" shapes are obscured by other shapes"? Also when you click on the red stars and then click on the tie, are you holding down the shift key or how are you doing that process so both items are selected? I hope you will reply.. I am stuck on a project. Thank YOU!
I have the new Silhouette Cameo 3 and I am a beginner. I was wondering why my cutter cuts my vinyl HTV or oracle vinyl through the actual vinyl instead like I see in the videos.
I see so many people layering vinyl and the shirts can’t flex. It feels like a bullet proof jacket. When I do this l, the shrinkage sometimes is apparent when subtracting the later for the insert. This leaves visible, although small imperfections. If resizing the subtraction, it could help. I just need to figure it out..
@@SilhouetteSchool I’ve thought of this. I’ll try this evening using offset. Thank you! pS…. I like The Siloutte Software, is the Siser platform superior. I want to Retire my Brother Scan n Cut DX250 Disney edition and my Cameo 3.
I have a question, I use Siser Easy Weed HTV, I usually do 15 seconds at 305 for the full time, that’s what it calls for, so for the first layer, how many seconds should I do? And how many for the second layer?
If you are laying HTV you want to tack every layer except the last for just 1-3 seconds. So if you have two layers you would press the first layer for 1-3 seconds, then put the second HTV color on and press for 15 seconds.
Can you clear something up for me please? Why did you print the offset instead of cutting the offset out of the blue vinyl then layer the original star within the offset on the blue vinyl?
I am wondering when I want to layer HTV, what do I placed over the project when ironing? Like what was that white sheet you put into your press before closing it? I am worried about melting the first layer when working on the second. Thank you!
How do you create a multi layer stencil if you’d are going to be painting a wood sign? I have a client wanting to paint a wood sign of the London flag. (red, blue, and white)
I am confused by this. Why did you cut the holes in the blue tie vs. just putting the red stars on top of it? Would have been easier and not have to worry about 'covering the hole'. Just curious.
To limit how thick the transfer is on the shirt and get the best possible application for the best stick. If you are layering multiple colors of vinyl over each other it becomes thick and rigid on the shirt and you increase the chance it will peel.
It's best to have the HTV pressed directly onto the fabric instead of on another layer of HTV. This helps prevent peeling and also avoids the multi layers of HTV from creating thick, stiff areas on the shirt.
Caseyandme tv There's no printing, it's all cut out with the Silhuoette machine. The stars are cut out of the blue tie, the red stars are cut out of red vinyl and put in the cutouts on the tie, and the white stars are the t-shirt showing through the cutouts after she irons the design on the shirt.

Thank you so much still helpful 7 years later , hope your still producing quality like this !
Ahh. Way to advanced for me! Lol. Lots of steps I need to know how to do along the way..
This is for beginners, but you didn't show the fill color tool or how to use it. The same with the Stars.
Please show 😱
Very helpful. The tip regarding the grid lines on the mat - very useful too! Onesie looks cute.x
You are great .

Very helpful! Thanks so much. I picked up several other tips too (cutting mat "reveal").
Thank you!! This was driving me crazy.

what did you use when you placed a sheet of something over the first layer of HTV?
did you cut both colors at the same time? Or did you cut one, change colors and cut the other??
Check out this blog post for tips on how to cut them at the same time www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2018/05/using-reveal-grid-in-silhouette-studio.html
@@SilhouetteSchool Perfect, thats how I have been doing it. Guess I am on the right track! 😄
How were you able to select the blue and the red? It only lets me select one thing at a time...
The video has really helped me.
This video is so good
Back up, where did you get the design? Is it in the library?
Yes this was a design I had in my library.
Thank So! Great tutorial !
if you offset the stars that you cut won't they still be larger than the stars in the blue tie? and still be bulky? did you do an INTERNAL offset?
If I wanted a white outline around the red stars or a letter, how would I do that? Would I do that with the offset button? Thanks.
Freaking AMAZING!!! Thanks so much for the video
Thank you

If you put an offset around one of the layers it will slightly cover any overlay gap

Cait Monahon it's called a teflon sheet. It protects your vinyl from the heat press.

over the first layer of HTV while using the heat press ?

Why not just cut the tie all black then add stars on tie? It's still layering.

@@SilhouetteSchool yes but with an offset, it will have an unlevel bump anyway.
how did you get the numbers on your grid in silhouette studio?
Can this method be used for regular oracle 651 vinyl?
Jennifer Ruiz not o a shirt as you need HTV for that. But can be done on items that will not be ironed.
I have a cameo silhouette it cuts but when I go to cut my school logo out. It shows cutting complete and it doesn't cut
Sounds like it does not have cut lines
... do you always begin with the darkest color of HTV?
I still don't know how to group the colors. That step was skipped completely.
Select the first shape then hold down SHIFT then select the next shape. Right click > Group
Wat program u Have ??
I love ur tutorials but please do it a bit slower as I am a newbie to this Thank u

where can i get the clear. is that printed directly on the clear sheet or cut out using the colored vinyl?
+Caseyandme tv That is the carrier sheet from the HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl).
oh so you printed them onto blue htv and red as well?

Where are the one step at a time directions? I still don’t understand how to do anything other than words on my silhouette machine!!!!

you go through these steps too fast - as if we actually know what you're talking about.

It gotta be easier than this
You never showed how to group the color groups. You only insisted that we do so. I'm a beginner. Sorry.
Way too fast.
This is very confusing for a beginner, slow down. Something easier would have been better.
We've got a whole section dedicated to beginners here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/silhouette-cameo-first-cut-and-beginner_14.html check it out!
