I half and wedge my melon into triangles with the rind on. Then I run the knife from the pointed side of each wedge to the flat side along the rind with the knife. Then I cut into cubes. I didn't know about removing the rind before wedging and thought like with a pineapple, you loose too much fruit. But as you showed you can go thin and still leave green behind so I think I'll try your way next time. Also it might be safer.
In California where I am originally from there was a Filipino restaurant that used to serve the most amazing grated canthope over crushed ice with a little simple syrup mixed with cantaloupe juice. It's one of the best things on a hot summer day. I highly recommend you try it.
Yay!!! Thank you so much! That first technique is exactly how/the same shape I cut my watermelon and I was apprehensive since it was my first cantaloupe to cut up myself. But it was a literal breeze! Beautiful tutorial! Thanks so much!
I'm over sixty years old, and today I was cutting up a cantaloupe the way my mom taught me years ago.It felt like it took forever. I wondered if there might be better ways to cut it and thought I'd check RUclips videos. I loved that you shared your background. I knew immediately I could count on your suggestions. Are you going to put a link in for the bread knife? Thank you for sharing!!
I'm 30 and today it'll be my first time cutting a cantaloupe and first time using a bread knife lol. I'm getting excited about it, thanks for the extremely useful video! The knife skill is sure transferrable to other veggies like I was always wondering how to keep the slides of cucumbers neat when cutting.
Thank you for your excellent tutorial. I have a suggestion that may improve the audio quality of your future videos. Consider investing in a lapel microphone. This will help to reduce the impact of the room's acoustics on your voice, resulting in a more professional sound quality. Many professional speakers and content creators use lapel microphones to achieve this effect.
I've literally cut thousands of cantaloupes. My knife of choice for all larger fruit prep (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, pineapples) is a 12" Dexter cheese knife. The cost is around $35. Sounds crazy, but Google it -- it looks like a machete. Cut the cantaloupe in half pole to pole. Scoop the seeds out with an ice cream scoop. Cut each half into four slices, again pole to pole. Zip the peel off (NO SAWING), then cut them into the size pieces you need. I can do a whole cantaloupe, from start to finish, in about 25-30 seconds. This knife is the key.
Anyone know why there isn't cantaloupe flavoured candy? It's reasonably popular fruit but you NEVER see cantaloupe or honeydew flavoured anything. Weird if you ask me...
This is a weird way to cut a cantaloupe…just slice the ends off, then slice in half, scoop out seeds, slice the halves into quarters, the slice sections down just to the rind, then slice all the sections off the rind at once, throw the rind and the green skin out in one piece…. Think about it… PEELING A CANTALOUPE…..really..this is like opening and closing your car door 4 times before you get in. Just open it once, sit down, then close the door once…
Tip for you if you brain or attention span isn't the best then maybe you should look at shorter videos instead of making dumb ass remarks he's doing what he love's cut him some slack let him do whatever he wants .
I think you're contradicting yourself with that statement mind your own business, if you would've never gave that dumb ass opinion & minded your own business then I would've never commented but just like you said we have our own opinion & he's obviously doing what he wants. If it bugs you or your tiny attention span you're the only one that seems to be bug by his intro. Hes not making the video to satisfy just you big Dummy.

wow, you glanced over the halving of the melon and didn't talk about the knife switch. the finished product looks great but the details are in the journey not the results.
What are some other ways you like to cut cantaloupe?? i kept it simple for the beginners but let me know what you come up with in the comments below!!
i guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Rocky Rene i watch on FlixZone. You can find it on google :)

I'm in love with that knife. Cuts like buttah!
I’m 15 and I feel like I should already know this
Haha, don't worry. I'm 20 years old and I'm still learning new things like this everyday. Learning is good
Have you ever put pepper, butter or sour cream on it
Great content 😊
Thanks so much

How do you sharpen your knives? TY
What brand of knife, are you using?
Nice - maybe with some kind of glove?
Thanks
Thankyou
Ahh it’s a knife commercial
so just to get this straight saying price point is the same as saying price. I think the drop the word point, but it sounds cool, eh?
3:26 Dude! Why aren’t your cuts straight? I thought you were a pro.
