As per latest update, we did Umlingla in June 22 and Photila route is not recommended, the road conditions there is very bad, big rocks that will tear you tyres, locals asked not to take that route. So it is recommended to take the 2nd route from the dessert. There are poles in the route that you can follow to get to the tarmac road.
Hanle - ukdungle-nerbole-Umling La Hanle to ukdungle tarmac road, ukdunle to nerbole off road and then again tarmac road till Umling La. One can complete the circuit and return via Photi La
Very useful for me, thank you for making this as i am going leh this year and my only concern was about umling la and this video helped me alot . Thank you so much ❤
I did the Umlingla through the nerbole top on the 7th Aug 2022 solo ride. Photila way will take much longer time i have seen bikers take the photila it took them much longer time. going through the nerbole top is the Best as suggested by the locals from hanle the views were amazing too. thanks for ur video i like the way you showed the maps.

As of now, this is the best informative video on Umlingla. I've been there but my action cam gave up and I couldn't record anything. The experience will always stay with me 😊 Kya masst, alag hi geography hai bhai.
Very informative bro ... Great effort.. fyi: I took the 3rd desert route u said most people not take and returned via a 4th desert route u not mentioned purposely due to permission issues. Ofcourse the same month u done the summit.
To be frank scared a bit to ride as it's the first time I will be riding to such a remote location and my long ride but this informative vlog certainly helps a lot💯🙌
Very helpful. Would there be fuel available in villages enroute from Pangong Tso to Hanle? Also, could you please share link to get online Hanle permit?
Hi buddy...nopes we dint face AMS anywhere...keep a day for acclimitization, drink enough water...safest mantra to avoid AMS is P2P ( Pani peete raho aur pee karte raho😛)
Very useful info bro! Thanks a lot! One Question : Can we descend to Demjok from UmlingLa or that is still not allowed (or requires additional permit) ?
June should be ok...but last year army din't allow stay in Hanle till Aug...so Aug/Sept is 100%safe time to go..rest you can check with Sonam(ph no in description)
Take the Photi La pass road & do start early...it's bit long but straight forward & you won't need to worryuch about ground clearance too...check my Photi La vlog ...
@@MysticRiderPrateek Dude 😊 even I stayed in Padma Home stay. Very hospitable & welcoming. I paid more than what they agreed upon. Only bcoz how tuff life is at that part of the globe & ppl r so helpful.

There is always AMS chances when you are riding to these high altitude regions of Ladakh...both photi la & Umling La are 18000+ ft...so drink enough water continuously..do not stay at these passes for longer ... If you feel anything descend down immediately! A friend of mine started having headache at Photo la.. he immediately rode back to Hanle..had good amount of water & he was ok in an hour...
Your second and third routes are one and the same. Via Ukdungle junction. Google map shows a road there, but that is not a road it is just a track in the plains. You have gone through that route. You are confused here. So please delete this video.
