Thank u very much sir. It helps a lot and I am preparing for my master thesis related with RF. ADS is the most common CAD so I have searched a lot of resources but found a little with it. Your tutorial are very helpful.
Thanks for these videos! I’m facing a challenge and could use your help. I’m working on a subharmonic mixer, but I have a P_1tone component instead of an RTD diode. I want to use a sine wave as the LO signal with a frequency of f0 = 250 GHz, where N = 5. This means f_RF = f0 GHz and f_LO = f0/N. I need to synchronize the LO with the RF signal in the oscillator. This phase-locking is essential to analyze the phase accurately. I think I may need a multiplier or another component, but I’m not sure how to achieve this lock. (and which component is the best LO as sine wave or general LO) Could you guide me on the components I need and how to connect them? thx
Thanks for another informative lecture. I have a question about OIP3 table in the data display window. Third order intecepts are found from Pin Vs Pout curves. When I try to display OIP3_Lower and OIP3_Upper, it displays it as an array with the same length as Pin sweep. Shouldn't OIP3 be a scalar value? Your inputs are appreciated. Thanks.
When you perform IIP3 or OIP3 measurements, you shouldn't be performing sweep using the HB controller, you need to keep it fixed on a specific input power level that makes Amplifier to operate in a linear region. If you perform Pin sweep then obviously you will have a table of these IIP3 and OIP3 calculations done at every power level. There is nothing wrong in doing so but then you need to read these results at an input power level that is in linear operating region, typically 10dB below the 1-db compression point. Hope this clarifies.
@@BhargavaAnurag Thanks for your reply. So, if we run parameter sweep while computing 2-tone HB, ADS computes linear gain slope for each of the power sweep values and thus gets as many third order intercept points as the power sweep.
@BhargavaAnurag Sir, I am lookingfor a band limited power source to energize a circuit in ADS and couldn't find one. Is there any other way to simulate a band limited signal with a circuit in ADS?
Hi Athul, With band limited source, I am assuming you would like to get modulated signal source? If so, there are many ways to do and you can look at the simplest way as described in this video: ruclips.net/video/1EOCGYjlmmg/видео.html
Thank you very much sir, very nice and educational videos. I was wondering, for RF to DC converter with diodes, which simulation set-up you suggest? Harmonic balance or transient? Are there any particular set-ups to see the conversion?
Hi Jack, You should be able to use HB simulation and output after DC conversion should be possible to see by plotting the variable as [0] as index [0] will represent the DC in HB simulation cases....
Hi. Sorry for the delay. I will elaborate. I have a multistage amplifier and each stage is powered using different independent supplies. During the PAE measurement, you have to specify the output, input, and DC supply nodes right. So my question is, how can I select these multiple DC supply nodes? Do I have to write a separate equation for this?
Sir iam getting a message that "warning detected by hpeesofsim in linear collapse '2' during analysis Linearcollapse is disabled because there is 'HB' analysis present" What i have to for this sir
Hi, While plotting PAE, select Add Vs>> which will open the pop window so that you can select X-axis variable and you can select the frequency. It is like X vs. Y plot in ADS.
Hi Kiran, Its all about post processing after you run a sweep simulation. Kindly refer to post processing video under Learn ADS in 5mins playlist. If that doesn't resolve the issue then contact your local Keysight tech support team for help.
sir in my case ( using different DUT) ip3in_lower and ip3o_lower both are equal value= 29.83 (same in upper case) is it wrong..??? secondly what we have concluded from ip3 value..??? what should be the ideal and minimum ip3 value.?? plz ans my question. thank you

Sir how you plot DCtoRF Efficiency as I have to plot Rectifier efficiency like what you did for an amplifier but I facing difficulty how you plot the efficiency.
Why on IP3in in equation ip3_in(HB.vout,0,{0,1},{-1,2},50) you are using alwasy 0 as small signal gain ? In ADS documentaion states that is should be small signal gain of amplifier

Hi,
I haven't done it for the rectifier or simulated rectifier in ADS ever. Kindly contact your regional tech support to help you with it.
Also tell me how you use PAEC and DCtoRF equations on schematic
You can place respective measurements on the Schematic from Simulation-HB pallette.

You are correct, there was a mistake in the equation. SS gain is only required for ip3_in(), rest all doesn't require SS gain.
