Lol, totally what I was thinking. Hes all chill then steps out all calm like with the Paul slung low, rips a solo then back into the shadows. Hes got no idea how awesome High School is gonna be with swag that early. He must have cool parents.
Middle school was never again the same for young Stratton nor his friends in the band for some reason; the bullies in the hallways were more subdued now, and the girls... well... that is another story. Rock on, dudes. KDM
This also happened to me in Jr. High. I was teased and bullied until the jazz concert in front of the whole school where I played my guitar. Not only was I never teased again, it was nothing but respect from then on. Music was my savior and became my life. I played with the Temptations, backed up Jerry Lewis’ show, worked with Little Richard, Dizzy Gillespie, and many many more. Things turned out ok. And yes, I’m still practicing yet today!

Kolby Taylor yes sir. I saw it. Honestly, we were all just kids and some of us really wanted it and others were just casual about it. Nothing to do with anybody just when you realize that it takes a whole team with fire in their souls to make it, it’s best to move on. Some of the guys still play in bands. As far as I know. Some just abandoned it altogether. It’s all good. I’m where I want to be. Back then I swore I would never sing and front a band. Times change! Thanks for commenting. PS- all of those guys are talented. People are tough on them. 12 year olds aren’t going to be anywhere near perfect.
The lead blistered through his solos with the casual idleness of a dad cruisin' through the neighborhood with his elbow out the window. The rhythm kid played one SOLID backup. If I dropped 20 bucks on watching them live I would come away feeling I had underpaid.

@@groob33 It's a small BBQ with a bunch of kids playing a concert. They probably pulled out whatever phone they had, you expect professional grade sound quality? Who hurt you in your past to make you so jaded?
@@Crazelord91 LOL... Whatever. It still blows. Bob was lamenting people who gave a thumbs down and I offered a very obvious practical reason... doesn't mean they're mean or lacking in joy. Could we just take a moment to appreciate that equipment? Like damn someone dropped a few thousands on the guitars and amps alone. The pedalboards look pretty impressive too.
They captured what GNR was about, somehow, as kids. It was never really about perfection, it was about how you feel when you hear it and play it. A lot of bands can’t pull that off anymore. Everything seem so fabricated. Kids still know what is real though. Cheers to the kids. 👍🏼
What an awesome, talented group of guys we have here! I played guitar for 30 years exactly this year, these fellas sound just as good as any adult band ive sen
Watching people play this solo and hoping they dont fuck it up is like watching someone disarming a bomb. You're either going to bomb on the solo or give us all a "HELL YEAH!!". great job!
Stratton you nailed this song along with the rest of your band. By the looks of the large crowd they enjoyed it too. I love seeing younger generation pick up where we left off. Long Live Rock!
Richard Marlev ... when I was that age we had a few dozen talented kids in our school and the place was alive with music. Not that the era was super important, but I went to school with Dave Brubeck's kids... and John Scofield lived in town as well. These days Jose Feliciano lives down the street and so does Keith Richards.

I'm in awe, everyone of them kids nailed it. I can't think of a propped praise, so I wish you the best.
Yeah. Except for the bassist.
Me too. Unless you know you can belt it out. Kid took the right approach on a very difficult song to cover vocally for a male!
This is probably one of the coolest videos ive seen on RUclips
Great band. Loved the confidence of the lead guitarist. Especially when he walked right up to the camera. Born to be lead.
They just outplayed 90% of the bar bands out here.
Lead guitarist plays like Slash while wearing a Godfather t-shirt....coolest kid ever.
I'd like to hear you play something by Brian May from Queen that you could play any of their songs will wait to hear it! Thanks
Tony Wilcox just wanted to give the 12 year old GarageBand an uplifting message they really are good. I'm 72 years old I really like them last comment!
These kids are awesome !
Thought exactly the same! It's not just Birth School Work Death for them!

I love this, the music I grew up with performed by the youth of today! These kids have skills, guts and talent
This singer is doing a great job and capsulating the raspy rock sound in his voice! They make a really strong band!
Good God that close up on the solo ..... And I love love love the singers voice ... He didn't try to sound like axel he put his own twist and just that little bit of finesse makes all the difference and don't even get me started on that ending omg
And he’s wearing a Godfather shirt this kid is a badass

100th like ;) Cheers from Brazil buddy!
Lol, totally what I was thinking. Hes all chill then steps out all calm like with the Paul slung low, rips a solo then back into the shadows. Hes got no idea how awesome High School is gonna be with swag that early. He must have cool parents.
Daniel Means for real I’m jealous 😳
Guitarist killed it!! He played flawlessly!!!Band sounded amazing!! Encore Encore
Dafuq. I was not expecting the singer to actually be good.
I know!!!! When he’s a grown man he will probably have some decent pipes
I know 😂 man they rocked
Anyone know the singers name?
ikr, he is the opposite of every 12 yr old singer. He actually has emotion and passion when he sings
@@molstad182 anyone know if he has a youtube channel? As good as he was. Surely hes better by now.

Middle school was never again the same for young Stratton nor his friends in the band for some reason; the bullies in the hallways were more subdued now, and the girls... well... that is another story. Rock on, dudes. KDM
Thanks for the "heart". You guys still rockin'?

That was probably the best I've ever seen as far as kids go. These kids have got a LOT of talent
That lead guitar kid is awesome... gonna be GREAT.
Much respect to these kids.
I reckon he's awesome too.✌
@@nicholasgarnett1767 The lead guitarist is actually the uploader of the video

a boy with a t-shirt of the godfathers playing guns n roses live from his garage..a kid who is 12 and knows a lot about music..there is still hope tiktokers and this kid shows you the way you should spend your time..on the second solo i almost cried from joy !! you rock kids!!
For all those who say that rap killed rock, and that rock is old people's music, this is proof that they are wrong, because in the world there are still young people with good taste and a lot of talent, we just need to support them
Parents: my kid plays the guitar
Debra at work: ya mine too
Parents: no, my kid is Slash

Same here 😉 first cassette i had as original album was „appetite….“
Great performance here !
48 here. I think... maybe 49 I keep forgetting. But yeah we lived that in our youth. I remember getting up early on a Saturday to watch the music video channel (not MTV - another one), and I saw this and it blew my mind like nothing else before it. Wow what a time to be alive!!!
47 now. This was My Go to album back in the day.
How lucky are the friends and neighbors to be a part of that.

@@strattonjames4066 did you leave the band?
Kolby Taylor that was 5 years ago. We all went our own ways about 6 months later. I’m 17 now. I moved to Atlanta.
@@strattonjames4066 in that video someone commented that youd probably leave the band and they said you by far outdid the rest of the band
That’s something these kids will never forget.
The lead blistered through his solos with the casual idleness of a dad cruisin' through the neighborhood with his elbow out the window. The rhythm kid played one SOLID backup. If I dropped 20 bucks on watching them live I would come away feeling I had underpaid.
Hey, it’s Stratton, the guitarist in the Sweet Child O Mine video. Thanks for watching my channel. That video was posted a while ago. Sadly, the band didn’t last long and everyone went their own way, many not performing anymore. I’m 17 now and have been performing professionally since age 14. Those kids rule. That lead guitarist steps out and super professional. I don’t understand how there’s two and a half thousand dislikes. My guess it’s jealousy. These kids are awesome.

@@strattonjames4066 this is one of my favorite songs... I shared this video to my Facebook page and said " gotta give it up to the guitarist , he knocked it out the park " ...grest job young man !!
The dislikes are from Axle Rose. He’s such a prick he created that many separate RUclips accounts just to dislike this video because it makes him look bad that 12 year olds could do what he did.
Stratton James how old are you now?
Not My Real Name I saw your reply and thought it was an inquiry to a completely different comment I had made altogether. I’m early 40’s. Wish I had a band like these kids at that age. Never materialized. These kids are lucky to have this. Hope I hear more.
I come back to this video every once in a while just to appreciate how good these kids are🤘
I'm 57 love GnR and these guys did a fantastic job here! I wish more young kids , teens would pick this up...such a moving thing to see & hear ! Loved it amazing guitars 🎸
Amazing. What talent. Hope they're still rockin it. I'm 63 loved Guns and Rose's when Axel Rose was with them and he would be proud of you guys. Once again amazing.
I can't imagine the depth of self loathing and lack of joy 2k people have to hit dislike on this. Great job kids, pulled it off better than some adult bands, I'm legit impressed how well the guitarist pulled off the solo
Pure uncut talent
Oh that kid tore it up! He also made sure he got his camera time, smart kid.
maybe it's because the sound quality blows.
Maybe they just think the quality of the recording blows. Which it does. Maybe they're like, "wow, this would be so frickin' good if the sound didn't blow." People give thumbs down for a plethora of reasons. So, ya know. There ya go.
This is so cool. Seeing the whole neighborhood supporting them is amazing in itself. Great video.
Lead guitarist has a future! Drummer girl isn’t getting nearly the credit she deserves!

Could we just take a moment to appreciate that equipment? Like damn someone dropped a few thousands on the guitars and amps alone. The pedalboards look pretty impressive too.

I was thinking that too! I can’t imagine my folks ever doling out that sorta cash on a hobby of mine as a kid!
Everything is miced up too and they got some pretty big speakers so they must have a pretty good PA system
A few thousand is an understatement. Those stacks are easy 3k each and those guitars are almost as much.

These kids Parents Need a Gold Medal for Parenting Skills!!
I love the way he thanked everyone who put money in the bucket as he sang. Love the blue shorts. The guitarist rocked it.
The kids were great. I would like to have one in my town. A block party. We sure need one.
They captured what GNR was about, somehow, as kids. It was never really about perfection, it was about how you feel when you hear it and play it. A lot of bands can’t pull that off anymore. Everything seem so fabricated.
Kids still know what is real though.
Cheers to the kids. 👍🏼

... when I was that age we had a few dozen talented kids in our school and the place was alive with music. Not that the era was super important, but I went to school with Dave Brubeck's kids... and John Scofield lived in town as well. These days Jose Feliciano lives down the street and so does Keith Richards.
Heck yes, the joy of garage bands. When you’re just a kid trying to figure out life like anyone else, but for the length of the set you feel 10 feet tall. Good stuff.
