So, theory time:
From a lore perspective, this seems to be the part of the story where they realize how much control they've given up. At first it's just on stage, but then their real life begins to be invaded and disturbed, only to find out their own physical actions are even being hijacked by the faceless higher ups. They're trying to enjoy their new life of fame but find they can't because it's no longer under their control. The image they give off publicly is nothing more than a "projected" image that you're wanted to see.
My personal take on this song is that it makes me think about somebody who projects their own version of you onto you instead of getting to know who you really are and isn't willing to properly talk out their problems with you so they choose to be angry and hateful instead.
I mean within the lore and the ARG, the Midnight Society did say something about subjects possibly gaining sentience, and that appeared to be happening once in a while in here, as well as the fact that it connected back to Skeleton.

It continues the theme of Artist Vs Industry that Skeleton started. Skeleton, at least my take on it, was about them having to choose whether to hold onto their morals and values, the things that make them unique, and stay exactly where they are or merely become empty shells for people to paint into something new and popular: skeletons to be built on. It's about keeping individuality or gaining success, and I think they've done a pretty good job of portraying it both through the new style of music and the brighter costume choices, something that heavily contrasts every other point in their career
This can also be linked all the way back to Hypnotized with Cody standing in front of the mirror. What stands in front of the mirror is what *_we_* see; however the one Cody sees is *_himself_* trapped into a fabricated vessel (think of it as himself trapped in the upside down). We can also connect Hourglass into this with Cody being trapped in the hourglass and scared for he knows time is running out (no control over himself means things can go wrong from there). Furthermore, those two music videos have the same grim look to them whilst both Skeleton and Projector (and the entirety of Elsewhere I presume) are bathed with ludicrous colours of neon. Agreeing with Oran, it indeed contrasts to the vibe they had since, I don't know, Horrible Kids?
Not just that, if we were to go back with "Cody seeing himself differently in the mirror", "Killer in the Mirror" enters the chat. Having no sense of self-identity even after looking at yourself at the mirror is *_indeed_* deadly because you're forcing yourself to look like someone you're not to the general public. Sure, the reception is positive but are you really feeling it? Are you happy with it?
I'm very curious to see what type of lore they'll come up with Elsewhere because from the looks of it, with the "multiple universes getting mashed together", their old works might make a cameo (or even to the point where they're part of the story but that's just me reaching too far lol).

SIO have always been a pretty diverse band when it comes to their sound tbh, I don't think this album is a departure as much as it is a natural progression of their already constantly-shifting style
The lyrics has Hypnotized feels. Love it

I never thought it could get better than midnight, then there was after midnight, skeleton, and now this. You guys are literal geniuses. I never imagined something could sound so good and I just know that the rest of the album is going to be just as wonderful and catchy

Not only catchy, but also a coherent story that I can actually understand. Additionally, you rely on lyrics, rather than background, which is something I really enjoy.

I've been a fan of Set it off for years. I first started listening to their music when I was in 6th grade going through hard times and some abuse. I got out of the situation and whenever I'm feeling depressed Set it offs music is my go to. I'm about to start my junior year in high-school and I am still listening. I sincerely hope anyone who is going through hardships has something to help them through that situation like Set it Off helped me. Tysm Set it Off and keep making amazing music! ❤

Ok,.. I Know Content Warnings Are Important, Especially When It Comes To Flashing Lights That Cause Seizures. But I Have A Theory That Those Lights Are There For A Reason, Which Is To Show Us When SIO Is Being Controlled. Notice When The Trio Are First Put In That Hallway, There Are No Blinking Lights. But When The Lights Show Up, The Trio Goes Insane. Ok i have another theory. So someone in the comments said that the dude who’s controlling them is actually alien Cody and i was like…WHAAAAATTTT????? I DIDNT EVEN THINK OF THAT!!!! so I decided i wanted to expand on that. so here’s what i got: This is all an alternate reality that Alien Cody created. So here’s what i think what happened; after the events in the lonely dance video when he killed his friends Alien Cody put them in a dreamscape such as Elsewhere. Well, if the Lizardhand dude is Cody then why is there Another Cody with them? well, alien Cody created another version of himself, someone who’s not an alien more or so, a normal human being. The reason why Alien Cody created this alternate world is that he could take control over them and probably turn them into mad men or something, idk. Something really awful to them. why do ya think that Cody was tortured first right? and probably Zach and Maxx afterwords. He’s probably, either gonna make em descend into madness, make em insane, or he’s mostly out for Cody and wants to turn him into a mindless maniac. Because lets face it, these are gonna be stuck in Elsewhere for a while and their bound to be at each others throats by then. After that, complete and utter chaos! who knows the possiblities? they could hurt each other and tear their friendship apart. And i think thats what Alien Cody wants to tear them apart because he knows that they all have a strong bond so he tries to rip that away. but hey, that’s JUST A THEORY!!!! A SIO THEORY!!!
