Just a random note: In the books Dudley and Harry actually have a genuine goodbye, he tells Harry that he “doesn’t think he’s a waste of space” etc, it’s something I wish they showed in the movie
Yup. As others have said already, they filmed it and you can watch the deleted scene. It really was a huge part of the books because for the first time in his life, Harry actually had one of the Dursley's care about him. Dudley was grateful that Harry saved his life in the 5th book and he was genuinely concerned about why Harry wasn't leaving with them. He was worried about Harry's safety, which stunned Harry.
It’s also a good callback when you remember Dobby is forced to injure himself by banging his head and such whenever he speaks ill of the family he serves, but now he’s able to all but kill enemies
To this day, I still maintain that Hedwig's movie death is one of the few good deviations from the books. In the book she was in her cage and got hit by a stray spell. The movie really made her death more heroic, at least in my opinion.
I agree, I read the books when they came out, and then watched the movies repeatedly, I only just reread the books this year again and I forgot how bad they cheated Hedwig in the books. She’s a hero
I prefer the book's version. The point was to signal the death of childhood. And the death of your pet, and such a crude and nonsensical death at that signifies it better than give it a more cliche heroical death. But to each their own I guess.
Same!! Recently reread DH and was once again appalled at how dirty she was done in it. Not only was it terrible that she died caged up but then they BLOW UP HER CAGE?? The movies fave her the hero’s death she deserved.
Fun fact: In the kissing scene between the illusions of Harry and Hermione, Rupert Grint had to be removed from set because he couldn't stop laughing everytime Daniel and Emma started kissing, and this caused them to reshoot the kiss scene several times. Rupert is awesome! LOL
In the first movie Emma had to hug Daniel and Rupert. She hadn't hugged a boy before and didn't want to. She negotiated down to just Daniel. Even then, they had to lengthen the hug in editing because the hug was too fast.
Wasn't the kissing scene shot separately in front a green screen? I remember reading somewhere that Emma and Daniel both had to topless covered in silver paint and it was a very awkward scene to shoot. 😂
One other thing I want to mention is Dobby’s burial. Harry doesn’t use magic to bury Dobby…he honors him by actually digging his grave and gently laying him to rest…a truly free elf. It has been a pleasure watching you three gentlemen come to love and appreciate the Wizarding World that so many of us have loved and appreciated for so long. Even now I still get occasional snide comments about enjoying “children’s stories and movies”…as you all have realized, there’s much more depth to these stories and movies than the average person realizes…
There's so much more. A lot of layers. Yeah, the first 2 one can have many different opinions on, but The rest of them, just amazing. Not saying the first 2 aren't. After rewatching them, they are solid in their own right. 🤘
@@BaddMedicineOak please stick with the audio books. It’s so worth it. All your questions will be answered and then it makes these movies that much better cause you will pick up on little hints and clues in the movies they throw in that would take too long to explain
i was surpise to hear them said HP was child movie tbh, in my country i've never even heard somone said or think HP is a child story, not even once, that must be an US thing i guess x)
@@noakeyharding9437I think it was because the first 2 aren’t as serious and dark as the rest, having child characters and not a lot of graphic violence/fights like a lot of fantasy films
It’s such a bummer that JKR had to be such a transphobic piece of crap. She ruined it for me. I grew up with these people. They were my friends. I was along for the ride adventuring with them! It’s like I was there! I read fanfic. I wrote fanfic. The fact that the author is exclusive to a whole community is just awful and not the world I grew up with.
In this movie you might notice Harry starts calling Voldemort ‘you-know-who’. This is because Voldemort placed a taboo curse on his name so that he’d be alerted when anyone would speak it because he knew only Harry and his allies dared speak his name
@@notexactly9145 you need a reason why Harry suddenly stops saying his name though otherwise it doesn’t make sense. In this case, it was because Ron overheard about the taboo in ministry and relays that information to his friends. But since we don’t get that scene, it makes absolutely no sense that Harry would just saying hides name.
Technically she didn’t use obliviate as that spell is irreversible but it’s one we’re familiar with after Lockhart tried to use it against the boys in #2
In the book, she casts a memory charm, and gives them memories of a life where she doesn't exist. (As well as sending them to Australia) to protect them. jbreezy101 is right, they had her use obliviate in the movie simply because at this point the audience knew what it was, and that it in some form pertained to memories. But in the book, of course this would have been beyond stupid, as obliviate is irreversible. Hermione, after the wizarding war, reverses her charm and gives her parents memories back.
Love that you guys recognized Harry and Hermione dancing as what it was, a friend cheering up a friend. I feel almost every reaction channel sees it as something romantic, and it makes me a bit sad since I feel like it is such a sweet, platonic moment, that you often don't get in movies (as the main character and the girl is often paired up). Looking forward to the last one!
I mean, no. Rowling later said she should have had Harry and Hermione get together in the tent that night. In the books the romantic overtone is much more present.
@@Taygon094 well the first thing that came to mind was the fun little bit that she made up about wizards shitting their pants and vanishing the evidence before toilets existed, but sure, the transphobia sucks too
Harry and Hermione are basically siblings at this point, in many ways they understand each other in a way that Ron can’t. For all intents and purposes, to Harry, Hermione is his sister, and vice versa.
Hermione removing herself from her parents memories to protect them is still one of the bravest things in the entire series in my opinion. Such a heartbreaking scene.
Here lies Dobby a free elf. Dobby hits harder in the books since he is around a bit more and you generally learn a bit more about the elves in general.
Not to mention Hermione's efforts to get equal rights for them in Goblet of Fire. She should have realized what the acronym of her "elvish rights group" would spell, though, and rethought it. Kinda like a new right-wing political party in Canada that nearly adopted their new name, except someone realized the acronym would spell CRAP.
Also the thing about Kreacher that the films I think do not explain, is that after the death of Sirious, Harry inherited from him the manor at Grimmauld place AND also basically...inherited Kreacher, so Harry has become his new master :).
One thing that’s important to remember is that the horcruxes actually have a negative effect on the people that are near them…and some people are more affected than others…Ron was deeply affected and is one of the main reasons for the argument that led to his leaving Harry & Hermione for a while. The locket’s negative impact on the trio reminds me of the One Ring and its negative effects on the Fellowship of the Ring. Boromir was the one who was the most negatively affected in that group…
I always felt JK Rowling modeled horcruxes on the one ring. It absolutely functions the same as a horcrux, a powerful and evil artifact, most likely with death put into it’s making, which holds part of the soul of the maker/sorcerer and gives them a way to return from death if their body is destroyed.
@@LS_Revenant Not all horcruxes had a direct negative effect on the owner. There is no mention of any such effect caused by the Diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw or by Cup of Helga Hufflepuff. The diary had been talking to Ginny. Hence Ginny wasn't affected by merely possessing the diary. There is no evidence that all the Horcruxes caused negativity on the people around it. Keep in mind that Voldemort did curse the ring horcrux. So sometimes the negative effects arent the horcruxes themselves, but another spell or curse attached to them.
@@LS_Revenant Specifically they enhance negative thoughts/emotions/feelings. They are just like a lot of other magical items in this world. You cannot create something from nothing- there has to be SOME amount for the negativity to pull from. Like everyone loves to say how the Dursley's were so bad to Harry because he was a horcrux. Well, not totally. Harry being a Horcrux most likely enhanced their levels of snobbishness and superiority and resentment that they already held. Ron was already feeling strung out and worried, while feeling inferior to his friends (and what he perceived as a budding relationship). Other than the ring and diary, the other items weren't really held long by the "good guys" for noticeable negative effects (the cup and diadem being held by/in inanimate objects and the snake being with Voldemort or in a cage). The ring was only really worn by Voldemort as a young adult/adult or held by Dumbledore (who would've probably surmised the issue of wearing it, or thought he was strong enough to combat it). The book was the only other issue as it played on Ginny's insecurities and fears then literally fed off of her and those negative thoughts
A death that doesn’t get talked about enough imo is Hedwig. She was Harry’s only connection to the wizard world in the holidays and was there for him throughout the series. In the books, Harry cried when she died, but in the movies they sort of forced him to move on really quick.
I was suffering a deep bout with PTSD when the Harry Potter Books came out. I was staying with friends when one of their children came to me and gently asked if I had “too much stress.” She offered her books to me (the first 3) because “they could help.” The tale JK Rowling spun reminded me of all the positive that surrounded me, including the 9 year old child who offered me comfort. Every time I see HP movies or books, I am reminded of that one endearing moment in a time when all I felt was chaos.
Every child (and we all still are one deep in our hearts), no matter how muggle, has Magic inside. I'm glad you have such powerful reminder, and that you've shared it with us. Thank you.
I have for sure not suffered as much as you, but my parents were divorcing and Harry Potter was a safe haven. My sister and I read all books together aloud, one page each, and experienced everything together. Every laugh, every sad moment. Harry will be for me my childhood, my sister love and a cherished refuge when times are hard.
His death wrecked my eldest son. We started reading the books as they came out...the same with the movies. Both my sons were invested wholeheartedly in these characters' lives. We waited in lines until midnight. we celebrated with other fans. It definitely was a wonderful journey for my kids and myself as their parents. Even today they are in their thirties and they still enjoy an annual HP binge-fest. Dobby was a wonderful character and tears were shed.
When Voldemort took Malfoy’s wand he was humiliating him in his own house in front of everyone because Lucius failed to acquire harry’s prophecy in OotP and taking someone’s wand like that is like taking away their identity.
@@softly128 No Lucius wand cracked because Harry’s wand (Holly & Phoenix feather) is the twin of Voldemort’s wand (Yew & Phoenix feather) they both shared the same core and in goblet of fire when they first dueled in the graveyard Harry’s wand absorbed a portion of Voldemort’s extensive magic skills and that is why in this movie the wand acted on it’s own when it sensed the presence of Voldemort it recognized him as both kin and mortal enemy, Harry’s wand became extremely powerful against Voldemort but still they couldn’t harm one another because both their wands are twins.
it wasn't explained in the movie but, voldemorts name is taboo so whenever his name was spoken aloud, Deatheaters were alerted to the location of the speaker. hence why the deatheaters knew where ron, harry and hermione were after the wedding.
Ron does explain it in a Deleted Scene, if they kept it in the movie, it would have been before his Departure, as his arm is still in a sling, and he mentioned hearing people at the Ministry talking about it, instead of the book where he most likely heard his brother talking about it after he walked out on Harry and Hermione, and he Relayed the Info back to them.
I wonder if they'd made the movies after all the books had been published (not quite as much fun) if those major details would have been included since they weren't privy to them what was important and foreshadowing until the later books were published.
@@bloomwiththestars Well the last book was published in 2007 and Order of the Phoenix movie came out that year. And there were already 4 books before the first movie came out.
The Oak’s opinions and long analysis of these videos are the best parts for me. I love the fact someone new to this can get so invested and see so deeply past the surface. And yes we do really want a Harry Potter round table discussion!
Honestly, YES !! They said in one of the videos they talk even more after that and I would love to hear even deeper discussions about their thoughts. And even like a mini series of reacting to fan theories and deep dives that would be amazing. I find this channel randomly with the first HP movie reaction and I'm so exited every week for their reaction. I even savor it for the "right" moment :D I haven't check if they have a podcast but if they don't they should. Love them
I agree. Nothing to detract from the other two, who add a lot to the reactions and analyses, but Oak’s insights take it much deeper and tie it all together. It’s great that because of the team’s commitment, he overcame his reaction to the first two movies and his preconceptions. Thank you all for sharing the impact of these movies and for supporting Oak as he says his piece.
I took my kids to all the HP movies in the theater and when Dobby died, everyone in the theater cried so hard!! (Including myself) It was the saddest thing to witness. About 150 kids crying out loud. Best movies ever! My kids are grown up now and they watch them with their kiddos now..
I remember when I got to this part in the book I had to close the book, literally push it away and I sobbed so hard. So when I went to go watch the movie I was going to have to be strong. I was 23, lol.
The resurrection stone doesn’t bring anyone back, is just a illusion, a ghost. In the book Wormtail's death is so better! He feels a little regretful trying to kill Harry and the silver hand Voldy gave him chokes him
Their reasonings where that it looked silly when they tried to film the chocking scene. But I feel like they went with a much worse choice. A death is a death, no matter how ridiculous it looks. And they always could have done an artistic choice change, where he dies from for example silver tendrils and tentacles that grew out of the hand or something. Which would still allow for the retribution, but also for Harry and Ron to try save him. This silly scene we got kinda took a lot from the serious tone of the whole bigger storyline.
@@dimasmerdeka4070 You should have continued your story and tell what's the entire plot of the deathly hollows part 2, besides you already spoiled some of it then spoil the whole thing!
One of my favorite missing-from-the-movies-bits is that Voldemort himself made Harry the Chosen One. When Harry was a baby, Prof. Trelawney gave a prophesy to Dumbledore describing a child that would be capable of defeating Voldemort. Snape overheard part (but not all) of it and passed it on. Voldemort thought that Harry fit all of the descriptions so he went after him and the Potters. However, there was another kid that could have also fit: Neville Longbottom. But because Voldemort went after Harry and failed to kill him, he created the connection between them, causing the prophesy to be self-fulfilled. The part of the prophesy that Snape failed to hear/pass on? Voldemort would choose his opponent himself. It's crazy to think that this whole story could have been Neville's in another world. (Also, this implies that Snape is indirectly responsible for the death of Harry's parents)
All of these juicy stuff they fail to show in the movies I now get why some people hate the movies. There are sooooo many things they didnt include which doesnt mke thr movie make sense sometimes
@@OldSchoolGeniusNeville would have been dead. A crucial element of the charm that protected Harry was that Voldemort intended not to kill Lilly and told her that but she gave up her life to protect Harry. Why he intended not to kill Lilly is revealed in the next movie. That wouldn't have been the case with Neville. Voldemort would have just killed his parents like he killed Harry's dad.
When Harry says "Kingsley I thought you were looking after the prime minister", he's referencing a great chapter at the start of book six in which Fudge keeps popping into the office of the *muggle* prime minister to update him on the situation in the wizarding world. We get a whole chapter from the perspective of this poor guy having to learn about death eaters, dragons, giants, dementors, mass breakouts from Azkaban, and what is essentially wizard Hitler returning from the dead and starting a war. He finally snaps when the new minister (Rufus) visits to talk about his security, and complains that he *doesn't* want some wizard replacing his awesome secretary... who turns out to be Kingsley.
Its easy to forget abt this chapter(i certainly did) but you've reminded me and I remember it being so Odd in a good way because the I never expected there to ever be a moment we would be seeing things from a muggles perspective lol. It was quote funny
I really appreciate how much you guys talk about the films afterwards and don't just do a few minutes wrap-up segment. I love these movies; I grew up with them and to finally have a channel that is this invested in them and wants to spend this much time talking about them is fantastic.
I wish they had resolved Peter Pettigrew's story in this movie but they totally skip over it. He dies in the cellar in the book rather than being knocked out by Dobby. When Harry confronts him about the life debt Pettigrew owes him, Pettigrew hesitates just for a moment and is then choked to death by the silver hand Voldemort gave him in Goblet of Fire. That one pause triggered the hand to kill him as the pause was a sign of disloyalty to Voldemort.
They should've put an extra moment to Harry's vision in the next movie's beginning, where Voldy is at Malfoys' and there he makes Wormtail choke himself to death with his magical hand as a punishment.
Also another fun missing moment from the books: while at the burrow Scrimgeour tries to convince Harry to be the ministry’s poster boy and use his face to reach the public but after what happened to Sirius and everything with Umbridge he can never trust the ministry and shows the scars on his hand “I must not tell lies” that Umbridge made him carve he told Scrimgeour along the lines “I could never fully stand by a ministry that allows this to happen”
Fun fact: Harry actually inherited NO 12 Grimmauld place along with Kreacher the house-elf, Kreacher was sent to work in the Hogwarts kitchen, until the deathly hallows where Kreacher got the fake locket from Harry and became quite pleasant to the trio and assisted them at Grimmauld place
yes that is why kreacher only answered harrys questions. When RAB died he left his possessions to sirius and when sirius died he left it to harry which is why it belong to harry
I know everything can’t fit into an HP movie, but when I read Kreacher’s redemption storyline, I wish we would’ve gotten to see that happen in the movies lol.
In the wizarding world, most invisibility cloaks, which are rare and expensive, have an expiration date. Overtime you start to see the outline of the person under it until you'll basically just have bedsheet over your head. Harry's invisibility cloak, however, has been in his family for generations, and still works perfectly. Something to consider if you're unsure if his cloak is a deathly hallow.
Ugh finally people appreciate DH Pt.1! It's one of my favorites in the whole series, I think it does an incredible job of setting the mood and really conveying the difficulty of this mission they have to contend with. This aren't always happening quickly when you're working towards something and that's when the real testing of resolve happens. I think this movie does a wonderful job of conveying that! Loved your reactions as always, can't wait for next week
I feel the same way!! I cant stand when people hate on this movie because it’s “slower”. That’s what makes it more realistic. Things can’t always be instant
In regards to The Oak’s question about why Lucius Malloy is so hypersensitive around He-Who’s-Name-We-Shall-Not-Speak, you guys have to keep in mind that Lucius has pretty much failed Voldemort at every turn. In Chamber of Secrets, he left a Horcrux (Tom Riddle’s diary) in possession of Ginny Weasley, which ultimately led to Harry destroying it. In Goblet of Fire, we learned Lucius didn’t bother searching for Voldemort after his fall all those years ago. In Order of the Phoenix, he was tasked with retrieving the prophecy from the Department of Mysteries. And AGAIN he was somehow bested by none other than Harry Potter. And on top of all of this, he spent some time in Azkaban (surrounded by the joy-killing Dementors), which definitely wouldn’t do anything to help this man’s confidence. Truly, the Malfoy family is in DEEP crap after the mess up in this movie too.
Voldemort only kept him around cuz malfoys are ancient pure blood family…like blacks..they even married within families to keep lines pure…age old story there’s a lot of lure not covered in movies…i’ll say almost as much is covered, is also not covered..
@@ankurd2889 even in real life back in the day people often married cousins because they were usually close and familiar before telephones and automobiles. Evolution is happens in most cases by inbreeding and isolation. That’s how you develop me cattle, chicken and goat breeds.
Kreature became a much better elf later. They treated him kinder, gave him the fake locket that belonged to his beloved Regulus, and sent him to work at Hogwarts. He wasn't lonely anymore and he grew to care for the three. Even Hermoine.
JK Rowling writing is nothing short of brilliant. Dobbys death in the book is even more heartbreaking. The Tale of the Three Brothers is a story within the story, done with brilliant animation in the movie. Part II, that’s something else.
The death of hedwig truly symbolizes his last goodbye to the little innocence he held. Its different now... which makes the owls death all the more tragic.
The Oak’s character arc throughout these movies is probably one of the things I enjoyed with you guys. Lol. One last movie! Please do consider watching the Fantastic Beasts movies too ^^
Nooo the Fantastic Beasts movies just let the whole Wizarding World franchise down. Harry Potter movies are infinitely superior. As far as I'm concerned the franchise has ended. JK Rowling has just lost the plot, literally and figuratively.
In the book version of Half-blood Prince, the Burrow never gets attacked. Hence there is no reason to believe it isn't safe. Also, in the book version of Deathly Hallows, Hagrid and Harry arrive at the house of Tonks parents (everybody arrived at someone else's home to confuse the Death Eaters) and use a Portkey to the Weasley's home so the death Eaters won't know he's there.
@@robertbrookes2000 they wouldn't be able to find it even if they know where it was. It's hidden by protective spells that only the secret keeper and those who he shared the "secret" to can find it. Much like #12 Grimauld Place in Order of the Phoenix. The death eaters knows where it is but could only wait outside because they can't see it. Dumbledore was the secret keeper for Grimauld Place so in order for Harry to see it, they showed him a note written by Dumbledore stating where it is. For the Burrows, the secret keeper is Arthur.
That burrow burning scene in the 6th movie was absolutely stupid and unnecessary. I mean why would you put a scene in a movie when it is doing nothing to the story. And they chose to omit all the other important events from that movie. Horrible horrible movie.
@@pickledpotato8567 well...that fidelius charm rule has been broken though. Hagrid somehow found and retrieved Harry at Privet Drive the night Lily and James died as Dumbledore somehow told him where it was even though Dumbledore wasnt able to tell according to fidelius charm rules as he wasnt the secret keeper, Peter was and he was still alive. So Hagrid should have been looking at the house but not able to actually see it/enter because Peter didnt tell him.
@@denizkenger52 I had my own theory about that, it's not canon so take it with a grain of salt, upon delivering Harry at Privet Drive, Hagrid said "entire house is burned to the ground, got him out in the nick of time" (non-verbatim), so I thought, the protective spells no longer exists as the structure they're supposed to be protecting/hiding is already destroyed. Hence, Hagrid or anyone for that matter will be able to find the house. Even Sirius got there that night and saw the house burning.
I'm a 52-year-old, bearded, tattooed veteran and I love this story. One of the things that made me love it even more is the depth that the books add that I can still apply to the movies. I would love to see you guys do a review of the audiobooks. It will only add to your enjoyment of the series.

"Soon we must all choose between what is right and what is easy." Dumbledore Our trio definitely didn't choose what was easy. I wish they had put in Kreacher's character arc that was in the book but I realize they were pressed for time. Also since Dumbledore telling Harry that Sirius left him everything he owned in HBP no one realizes that Harry not only owns Grimmauld Place but Kreacher as well. They also cut the scene where Ron told Harry & Hermione that there was a curse placed on Voldemort's name. Only Dumbledore and the Order ever used his name so if someone said his name Death Eaters could apparate to the exact location to catch them. That's how they found the trio in the cafe and at Luna's house as you noticed.
If I remember correctly I believe they do clarify that in the scene. Ron mentions he found harry because he saw the deer and harry says no his patronus is a stag, antlers, and doesn't know where it came from. So hopefully they did catch it in the scene!
@@siddharth__pandey They explain whose it was in the last movie - and they left a comment saying they've already watched the final one but just in case - ! Spoilers For DH Part 2 ! The actress who plays Hermione’s mother is Michelle Fairley, whom you’ll likely recognize as Catelyn Stark on Game of Thrones. Also the film unfortunately deleted a filmed extended scene of Harry’s goodbye with the Dursleys, which included a very poignant moment of Dudley telling Harry that he doesn’t think he’s a waste of space and we see that Dudley has been growing and changing, in fact in the books, Harry keeps finding food left outside his door and it’s revealed that Dudley left them for Harry. Also we get a moment of genuine emotion from Petunia too, in regards to her sister, and the films don’t really go into this but the books noted that as a child Petunia wanted to go to Hogwarts and even wrote a letter to Dumbledore asking to be allowed to attend and that rejection (however kindly worded) hurt her. It doesn’t excuse her actions towards Harry but it really does allow you to understand why she has so much jealousy and anger, because imagine being a kid and your sister gets powers and goes off to a fun magic school to learn about magic and you’re left behind, left out, effectively not special enough, that is bound to have an effect on a child’s self esteem. The films also kinda just introduced Fleur, one of the Beauxbaton champions from Goblet of Fire, being with the older Weasley brother. I wish they had explained it better. There’s alot of details that the films have just had to leave out unfortunately.
The engagement is still rock solid because HP is not just 8 movies, it's an entire universe. The books are magical, with so many details etched into them that it simply allows for a whole new world to open up to the reader. Say what you want about JKR, but what she thought of and how she wrote it was mad genius.
They never mention this in the movies (which makes me sooooo upset), but Regulus Black (RAB) was actually one of Voldemort's top guys, but Kreacher was actually sent to retrieve the locket. Kreacher was one of Regulus' only friends so he wanted to protect him, which is why Reg drank the potion instead of Kreacher, resulting in him getting dragged down by Inferi (the creepy water guys we saw in Half Blood Prince) and drowning. After Sirius' death, it's assumed he named Harry as his heir meaning everything Sirius owns (his side of the Black fortune) goes to Harry. ALSO. NOT SHOWN AT ALL. But Remus Lupin and Tonks get married and have a baby named Teddy (who we see very, very briefly in the flashforward at the end of Deathly Hallows pt2). Harry is named as his godfather, but it's assumed that Draco actually helped raise him since he would be Teddy's cousin (Tonks' mother is Andromeda, Narcissa's (Draco's mom) sister). In the flash forward we see him closest to Draco and his wife so its assumed)
It's not assumed. Serious does leave everything to Harry. Also Teddy is raised by his Grandmother and there is nothing but hopeful people to suggest he was any connection to Draco.
The detail about the Weasley's house seeming like an obvious hideout is that due to the Ministry's protection it was literally a safe house. The area around it had pretty much every protective spell there was, making it an untracable magical bunker. The moment the ministry fell however, so did those protections.
Also, the burrow didn't get attacked in book 6 like it did in the 6th movie. I can see why movie-watchers would be confused when Harry's already been attacked there.
I highly recommend watching the deleted scenes from the seventh movies. There are some character arcs that get resolved (one of them will really resonate with you) that unfortunately didnt make the cut
Regulus Black was a death eater and he joined very young. All sirius or his family knew happened was he was a death eater, it is likely he didn’t want to be one anymore and so he was killed. They never found out how or by who. He was 18 years old In this book we find out that regulus discovered Voldemort’s secret about the horcruxes and he was having his doubts about being a death eater and decided to try and stop him. He found out where the cave was because voldemort used Kreacher to drink the potion to see if it would work and regulus called Kreacher back and found out that way. He made a duplicate of the locket and went to the cave with kreacher. Regulus didn’t make kreacher drink the potion this time around, he drank it himself and if you remember those creatures that dragged Harry down in movie 6, that’s what happened to Regulus and that’s where and how he died. (Those creatures are inferi btw and they’re reanimated corpses done by voldemort). Before he died he ordered kreacher to go home and destroy the locket and to never tell anyone including his family what happened to him.
And not for the first time, I've wondered why nobody took any water with them, as in a thermos. Even if you cast _aguamenti_ (the spell to conjure water from one's wand), you don't need a goblet to drink it. Just conjure it and aim it into the person's mouth or cupped hands so they can drink.
@@Shan_Dalamani If someone tried to pour water directly into the drinkers mouth, I'm pretty sure it would vanish too. The only water available was the lake, Voldemort made it compulsory.
I love your reactions. Three tough men…but you looked like little boys in a dark theater watching a horror film at times. The story got to you all. Your reactions to these films are the best out there. : )
Hedwig's death is super sad. I remember there being an audible "Oh" from the audience followed by a woman shouting "Are you F***ing kidding me!?" My mom busted out laughing at her. Fun fact for you: Helena Carter(Bellatrix) was worried for Emma(Hermonie) over the torture scene and hugged her following it. She was worried she had gone too far with that scene, but Emma was fine. Helena is a very wholesome person.
She's good at playing mentally disturbed people, though. She was excellent as Ophelia in Mel Gibson's _Hamlet_ movie. The first movie I saw her in was _Lady Jane_ (about King Edward's cousin, Jane Grey, who was Queen of England for 9 days in 1553 due to Edward and the Protestant faction at court wanting a Protestant Queen rather than the Catholic Queen Mary; Jane and her husband are deposed, imprisoned, and eventually executed in 1554 after Jane's father - played by Patrick Stewart - attempts an unsuccessful revolution to depose Mary and reinstate Jane).
OMG is all I can say. I honestly have never looked forward to any RUclips videos more than this Harry Potter reaction series. You guys have just been brilliant. These movies and especially the books are just so special to me and watching you guys watch and react to them for the first time brings be back to being a 10 year old little girl watching the first movie for the first time at the cinema. Thank you so much for your content. It actually means a lot to me! Let's gooooo... last one!!
Made it early again this time lol. This part is definitely a build up to the finale. I'm interested to see what you guys think. Already looking forward to part 2 but I'm also not ready for it to end. 😅 Luckily there's much more HP content available. 💕 RIP Hedwig and Dobby 😥💔 That was two of the toughest moments for me in the series.
I was literally around the same age as the protagonists as the movies came out one by one. I was 19 by the time the last movie came out so I grew up with this story, and watching three grown men get so excited about it too just makes me so happy.
the first HP movie was the first movie i watched in a theater. i was 7 and i went with my school. my teacher afterwards said the movie is based on a book and i should check it out since i liked the story so much. i also, like many of us, grew up with the characters 😊
My mum always told me when i was younger if i read the books i would be allowed to watch the movies with her, so i started reading those books when we were on holiday with my family. It took me about 2 days per book i finished almost the whole series in one go, great memories.
Guys, y’all really are one of the best reaction channels out there. Always a lot of fun seeing y’all react to stuff and watching all of you grow to love the HP series has been probably my favorite thing I’ve seen you do. Great reaction fellas 👍
Thank you for not getting mad at Hermione for not trying to help Dobby. Not to mention in the book she was mercilessly tortured, physically, and with God knows how many cruciatus curses, along with a chandelier falling on her which left her unconscious by the time the gang made it to Shell Cottage.
Dobby's death reinforced something I read ages ago: there's a time and a place for dramatic speeches, but there's also a time and a place for just legging it as fast as possible, before the enemy has time to take aim and fire.
In real life, sure. But in fiction it hardly makes a difference, if the author wants the character to die, they'll die with or without the speech, but the speech is often nice for dramatic affect.
Yesss! Excited for this! I saw this in theaters and it was so sad when Dobby died we all were crying 😭 But this movie, while slower paced, definitely was still amazing ❤️
I can’t believe we’re finally here👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I recently just rewatched this series last month and I’m still in awe of these movies and I’m so glad that you all have enjoyed them as well especially since this you’re first time watching so it’s been journey , only one more until the end
@@BaddMedicine The first 2 are a bit kiddish yes but you couldn't have the rest of the series without the first 2. In my opinion unlike most other franchises there is not a bad Harry Potter movie some are just a bit better than others and it means so much to so many people. The Harry Potter Fandom or community is probably the best there is and everyone is always welcoming and willing to share some knowledge
In the book Ron realizes and explains that Harry had the Invisibility Cloak for years and it's "invisibility charm" has still not worn off. Infact, it has belonged to his father and passed on to Harry in the 1st movie, probably through Dumbledore. They had a few examples where it also protected against certain spells which is not normal even in the Magical World. The invisible charm of the "normal" invisibility cloaks stays for 2-3 years give or take a year. Harry's Cloak is still working as new and hence, cannot be the "normal" invisibility cloak that the Magical World knows about. It is definitely one of Deathly Hallows if the mythical story is true. Harry and Hermione couldn't have known this due to their muggle-upbringing. This explanation is not in the movies. Not that it was necessary for the story-telling but still it does give a perspective. Non-book readers may think that anyone can conjure up an Invisibility Cloak through magic and hence importance of Harry having it is lost a bit.
And, pay special note. Since Hedwig's death, you do not hear "Hedwig's Theme" again until near the end credits of the last movie. "Hedwig's Theme" is the very famous song that plays that everyone knows as "Harry Potter Theme".

My 1st reaction after seeing Deathly Hallows Part I was “When is Deathly Hallow Part II coming out?!” My reaction after realizing it would be at least a year was “Noooooo! I want to see it now!”
When I saw this in the cinema there was a girl behind me dressed up as Luna who was absolutely sobbing her eyes out after Dobby died poor girl. She probably knew it was coming too, I feel it was much rarer to have been just a movie fan at the time since the books were so new 😂
since people are talking about the deleted scenes, i actually wish that they include both dudley's farewell to harry and petunia's farewell. for dudley, it shows the character's growth and kinda mend the relationship between him and harry. i really love petunia's scene because it shows that it's not only harry who felt the loss of his parents, petunia also felt the loss of her sister. of course it will never justify the harm that they have done to harry, but at least it humanized them and make us understand their character and what they have been through
yes the petunia one really got me. Petunia was always jealous that lily had magic and she didn't. However deep down she did love her sister. She disliked harry not only because he was a reminder that magic exists and she cant have it but also that her sister is dead. I feel like that scene deserved to be in the final cut.
One of the theories I’ve read made mention that one of the reasons Vernon& Petunia were so nasty was because Harry was a horcrux and his constant presence along with a piece of Voldemort’s soul made them nastier than they would have been, which I thought was very interesting…
@@cindybeyoglides561 it is very interesting indeed, but it could be debunked by how other people treates harry vs how the dursleys treated him. If the dursleys treat him badly because the effect of voldemort's soul inside him, then it should affect other people just like how the slytherin's locket affects people who wears it. But in reality, so many people are being nice to harry, especially ron, hermione, and the weasleys.
@@cindybeyoglides561 that doesn't make any sense then shouldn't harry be the nastiest of them all? You don't see people being nasty to voldemort just terrified.
When this novel first came out my family bought multiple copies so we wouldn't have to fight over it. I finished my copy first, having read it non-stop throughout the night after we brought them all home. So about quarter to five in the morning, I close the book and head down to grab a drink. While I'm putting ice in a glass, I hear this loud "OH GOD, NO!" come out of my daughter's room, and I knew instantly what part of the story she'd reached. Dobby's death hits everyone right in the soul?
I remember going to cinema with my mom to watch the first Harry Potter movie. Me as a 11 or 12 year old boy, was completely blown away by that experience. Since then, i was waiting for the next movie to come to the theaters every single time. It became a tradition to go see them with my mom. Growing up with these movies, was something i'll never be able to explain to anyone. When Deathly Hallows part 2 came out, we went in to the theater again. The big Harry Potter poster on the wall said " It All Ends" It literally felt like a part of my childhood was coming to an end. After the movie, i just sat dumbfounded and started crying. I knew something had ended that day. Looking forward to seeing you guys react to part 2. There's going to be some HUGE twists, that will throw everything upside down.
something they don't mention in the movie is that dittany just ages a wound. in the book, it was like someone took an ice cream scoop of flesh, and they were only able to just age the wound to a few days old instead of actually healing it up. part of it being rated pg-13 means they just had blood instead of the odd gore, and ron was still injured and not eating enough to heal the missing chunk of flesh. i know it looks like he's just the dude unhappy to be on the camping trip, but he does have reason to be irritated, i promise!
Also, the movie doesn't mention that they were almost starved because you can't make food simply appear using magic. Harry didn't care, because he was used to not eating too much when he was a kid, but Ron grew up with a great mother and in a big family, so he was used to eating A LOT and that made him even more irritated
@@erikperhs_ Kind of silly in the books that they can't get food, considering they see Dean, Ted Tonks, Griphook and Gornuck simply accio some fish to them. Guess the locket makes them a bit dim, as well as depressed.
@@erikperhs_ There are stuff in the books that would question that. In chamber of secrets when harry and ron arrive late due to the platform being blocked, Mcgonagall gives them a sandwiches which automatically renew themselves as they eat more. You could say she is somehow summoning already made sandwiches from the kitchens but then why dont hermione, ron and harry just summon something rather than trying to create it. Molly also streams a sauce from her wand directly, though you can always say she summoned it as well. And also, they could have just duplicated existing food, yet they dont.
@@robertbrookes2000 The accio spell is a bit weird in general. They say they can't use it on live things, but they use it in fish and other animals sometimes.
@@denizkenger52 Yeah, they can't multiply already existing food and they don't do it. That's a plot hole. Just in the same way as 90% of all the problems in the books would be solved if they used Harry's invisibility cloak.
One thing I wish was in the movie was more things to do with Kreacher. All the little bits in OotP to this one with info about Kreacher and Sirius' brother. The whole backstory into how he got the locket and placed the fake, and even getting Kreacher to be better. Even warming up slightly to Hermione
Before you watch the finale, just one interesting info: Although everybody knew what would conclude this journey, nobody expected exactly HOW EPIC they would make the finale out to be. I watched in in theater live and it was like watching endgame today. The entire cinema went NUTS. That's how much this series meant to US growing up with each installment.
There is a deleted scene where Death Eaters go to Hermione´s muggle House looking for her, the house is empty. I know you know this but that scene gives more context on why Hermione erased her parents memories, and seeing the house empty it gives you sadness.
in the books she restored her parents memories because the spell she used wasn't "obliviate" it was something else (that wasn't permanent). Can't remember lol
The point of this one is to go into the next one feeling hopeless and like what they have to face is insurmountable. Which I think was beautifully achieved
This movie is where all that stuff that was cut of on the other movies starts to really be missing and things get confusing. I can not recommend enough that you guys read the books. I read them as an adult and loved them. I am now 56 and I love them even more, because they simply are so good. I highly recommend a fan film , Voldemort: Origins of the Heir.. Or the video called The Story of Lord Voldemort : Tom Riddle origins Explained. Both explain Voldemort's life and everything that was missing from movie 6 Half Blood Prince about his past, this was all in the book 6 in memories.
Hermione wiping the memories of her parents in order to protect them is such an underrated moment from the movies that not many people talk about. Can't imagine how painful would have been for Hermione.
Other than Dobie’s death, my heart broke when Hermione had to obliviate her parents. Emma”s acting was on form!! What you didn’t see is…BOOK spoiler alert… she meticulously covered every loose end that she could think of. When she wiped their memories of her, she also cast spells on them to want to move to Australia, so they pack up and move there. She had given them new names, moved their money to an Australian bank, set up a place for them to live, etc. Her hope is that someday it would be over, and she could lift the enchantments off of them. Until then, they are safely hidden away on an Australian beach, drinking their retirement away, never knowing that they ever had a daughter.
Hedwig's death is significant in that it signifies the moment where Harry truly loses his childhood and innocence, as she was the only friend he had through and through and was his only connection to the wizarding world when outside of hogwarts. Also: Dobby's involvement in the story -or more accurately, Harrys life- is so much more important in the books, which makes his death all the more tragic and impactful.
The fact that they managed to make the death of the CGI creature emotional is noteworthy. I don't think I cried reading it but in the film, even though I knew it happened, I did. It was heart breaking.
Dobby's death hits even harder in the book since he's been constantly present in book 2 and again from book 4 onwards, always helping Harry. The movies only showed him in 2 and this one.
Still marathoning my rewatch 🤣 I just wanted to talk about a moment in this movie that always makes me incredibly emotional. Harry and Ron's fight gets me tearing up. If there were a word for someone who is dearer than a friend but isn't a brother, that's how I would describe their bond. So to hear such deeply hurtful things come from Ron's mouth right to Harry's face when Ron's part of the only little chosen family he has, my heart aches for both of them. Regardless of Ron wearing the horcrux, it was like all of Harry's insecurities about his lack of family that has kept him distant and unable to let himself connect, being realized out loud. I find this one and HBP to be my favorites because I'm less about the action because it's too fast compared to the book. I like the depth of emotion achieved in 6 and 7.1. They're both stunningly moving creations.
I've rewatched these reactions at least 8 times over the last 6 months. There's allot going on in my life right now but these reactions have been a steady constant over the last few months which I've found so comforting so thank you guys for doing this because you really are making a difference. I spend allot of time alone when I'm not with my kids so I can safely say you've made me feel less lonely. Like watching this with friends. I hope the new year brings more success for the channel and health and happiness to your families 🥰
The oak hits an interesting point about the lessons of each movie and this film not making the lesson as obvious. To me, both in the books and the movies, I have always found Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 to be the time when the other lessons are being put into action. Harry gets a few opportunities in this movie to show how powerful he has become, and that is the result of those lessons from Books/Movies 1 through 6.
The resurrection stone doesn’t bring loved ones back, it just brings back a shade of the person for a period of time. Also, there are only six horcruxes made. The seventh piece being in Voldemort himself.
@@sourstuff as I have seen that they are additing the last one already I can tell. The dark Lord intended to only make 6 horcruxes >> the dairy, the ring, the locket, the Diadem, the Cup and the snake. Unfortunately and unintendedly he split his soul another time at the moment he tried to murder Harry. So their are 7 horcruxes and The dark lord himself
@@svenvanveenendaal762 yes, I am aware of the plot. But they specifically commented on how many horcruxes there was left to find. Which was indeed four left. Harry is also not a horcrux. The sixth book explains that to make a proper horcrux, one needs a spell to bind the soul to the object. It’s different than just a carrier of a soul, as what Harry is. Yes, it’s a technicality, but is more accurate.
mundungus fletcher was a minor character in the books. he was not more than a conman and common thief. but he owed dumbledore so he was in the order of the phoenix. arthur weasly once said its handy to have someone in the order who knows the underbelly of society. and in book 5, they had to clean sirius house during their stay at the summer holidays. harry actually found the locket there and the commented how no one could get it open. so they threw it in the trash. but creature snatched it from the trash and put it back into the house until mundungus stole it. dobby appeared throughout the books helping harry here and there. he worked in hogwarts in the kitchen and did chores and stuff. so he wasnt absent between book 2 and 7 they established a few means of transportation throughout the books: flying, via broom or carpet etc, flea powder, portkeys and apparate, which is basically teleporting. splinching is, when a person cant fully controll his apparating and they leave parts of their body behind. they actually have a magical accident department in the ministry, were they rescue splinced people.
Yeah, it's a shame Order of the Phoenix didn't introduce him right from the start. Also they could've established Mrs Figg earlier as in the films she comes completely out of nowhere in Order. Whereas in the books it's made properly clear who they are and why they're looking after Harry.
I SO look forward to you guys posting a reaction to a HP movie... totally makes my day. Just watching 3 handsome buff dudes get enchanted with magic and hogwarts is incredibly satisfying. You guys are definitely one of my favorite reactors to this franchise. ❤️ Btw the review talks after the film are great! Potterheads can talk about the books and movies for hours, so we totally understand, and we are HERE to know how YOU feel and understand the movie. Can't wait for part 2
I love reliving all of these through your eyes. Can’t wait for DH Part II. I think Daniel Radcliffe developed into such a wonderful actor and my favorite bit of his is towards the end of that film. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for all your enthusiasm and the time you put into your channel. 💛
Peter Pettigrew gets straight up killed in the book. While he's wrestling with Harry and Ron in the cellar, Pettigrew considers letting them go, at which point the silver hand that Voldemort gave him acts on its own and strangles him to death. And Elf magic is often quite effective towards wizards because it's a different kind of magic and can avoid many of their spells. Elves can teleport in and out of places that wizards have otherwise set up enchantments to prevent other wizards doing such a thing.
I couldn't wait for this. Thank you guys enjoying your reactions very much. Can't wait for the next one probably my favourite just because of the closure it gives to everything and it's a brilliant film. @ the answer there is a grave site in South Wales in the UK where they filmed Dobby's death scene where people go and put rocks on a grave paying respects to Dobby even though he is a fictional character. It's brilliant.
I am so glad y'all are this engaged. I could hear MORE of the talking afterwards! Oak... when you weren't enthused about about watching "kids" movies, I just laughed. I knew you'd be surprised at how dark and heavy these movies get. The theme matures as the characters' world matures. The books were being released when I was in high school, and I loved them. The other kids thought I was crazy to love a "kids" book series.
It takes a very strong man to admit his mistakes; The Oak is a very strong man. I have loved watching all of you reacting to HP; from expecting kid's films to discussing the depth of the lessons these films contain - you've been on the journey too, now. You're a part of the global HP family. I am so looking forward to the next reaction. Hugs from the UK - I think you're gonna need them ❤
It’s not a popular opinion but this is one of my favorite HP movies! I just love the tension you can FEEL their misery and hopelessness and you never really have seen that before.
Appleton Oak often refers to how surprised he has been that he enjoyed LOTR and now Harry Potter. He may have spoken to this at some point but I wonder if what Oak is actually discovering is an appreciation for the entire genre of fantasy and how it can highlight or parallel so many key issues in the human struggle. Both high fantasy (like LOTR) and low fantasy (like HP) can do this in different ways. Really love these reactions and seeing all of your evolutions on this. In this case the parallels to the 3rd Reich were a new level so chilling for me when the series got here.
Just a random note: In the books Dudley and Harry actually have a genuine goodbye, he tells Harry that he “doesn’t think he’s a waste of space” etc, it’s something I wish they showed in the movie
They did have it but it was a deleted scene. I wish they did keep it in the film.
@@treeofrage7622 What! Never knew that! I’ll check it out thanks (:
It exists as a deleted scene. At least we have that.
Yup in deleted scenes....they should have kept it😊
The "Dobby only meant to maim or seriously injure" is hands down IMHO the best line of the entire series!! 🤣 Dobby is a treasure.

@@Afreshio I can most definitely see that for sure. Very valid outlook.
Same!! Recently reread DH and was once again appalled at how dirty she was done in it. Not only was it terrible that she died caged up but then they BLOW UP HER CAGE?? The movies fave her the hero’s death she deserved.
@@Afreshio I always took it as showing a futile, empty death such as happens in war. I thought the book made it more poignant.
Fun fact: In the kissing scene between the illusions of Harry and Hermione, Rupert Grint had to be removed from set because he couldn't stop laughing everytime Daniel and Emma started kissing, and this caused them to reshoot the kiss scene several times. Rupert is awesome! LOL
He had a tendency to laugh in inappropriate places throughout filming the series.
In the first movie Emma had to hug Daniel and Rupert. She hadn't hugged a boy before and didn't want to. She negotiated down to just Daniel. Even then, they had to lengthen the hug in editing because the hug was too fast.
@@TabbyQ.9563 that's kinda cute honestly😂
Dang I'm jealous of Daniel getting to kiss her so many times😂. She was one of my biggest childhood crushes.

Hermione's "obliviate" at the very beginning was so selfless. The strength of that girl.
Technically she didn’t use obliviate as that spell is irreversible but it’s one we’re familiar with after Lockhart tried to use it against the boys in #2
@@jbreezy101 At 6:21 she says "obliviate".
I think he may be referring to the books as she supposedly restores their memories after the war
Hits harder after watching that latest Spider-Man movie where everyone forgets he exists
It ia truly gut-wrenching. It's such a powerful and brave display of love.
I also love how he dresses in the books and I wish they had that in the films
Agreed, I think his actual death scene in the movie is better though, All the extra lines he gets makes it better.
Um...just watching here hit me pretty damn hard.
@@NanciBK my boyfriend and I have discussed this thoroughly and we strongly agree
All of the horcruxes have negative effects, or just the locket?
@@LS_Revenant
Not all horcruxes had a direct negative effect on the owner.
But the movie gave her a heroic death whereas in the book she's in her cage and takes a stray spell hit
I cried but I had to recover quickly so I could actually watch the movie in the theater
Dobby’s death in the books even hits harder because he’s a huge part of Goblet of fire and he’s in most of the other books here and there.
Even the time jk Rowling wrote the books she was suffering too. So she made it in a way it will help her find a safe haven too
Every child (and we all still are one deep in our hearts), no matter how muggle, has Magic inside. I'm glad you have such powerful reminder, and that you've shared it with us. Thank you.
That's incredibly thoughtful of her! So wholesome
Aw thank you for sharing your story. I'm so glad the books helped you. 💜
Dobby's death had a significance. To show that even the smallest creatures can die a hero's death
Exactly!!!
And it was more meaningful in the books, because Dobby was in every book except Philosopher's stone and Prisoner of Azkaban.
To be honest, Dobby's death hit me harder than Cedric's, Hedwig and Dumbledore combined.
@@khazms Yeah, our entire household had read the books and it still broke our hearts.
When Voldemort took Malfoy’s wand he was humiliating him in his own house in front of everyone because Lucius failed to acquire harry’s prophecy in OotP and taking someone’s wand like that is like taking away their identity.
Not only because of the prophecy, but also because he gave his precious diary (which was a horcrux) to Malfoy and he didn't take care of it.
@@k-tamil9967 Yes i forgot to bring that up as well 😅
@والد الهندوس that's only for the elder wand
Maybe that's why Malfoy's wand cracked when Voldemort was using it.
This is the biggest fu*k-up in the entire franchise, in my opinion. What an important plot point that they didn't even bother to explain...
@@sadisticwinter8354 there are so many plot holes in the movies because they missed out vital things from the book
Love them
Im always so excited to here what the oak has to say! It’s been the biggest joy for me in watching these
I can’t wait to watch them with my son! -Oak
He feels a little regretful trying to kill Harry and the silver hand Voldy gave him chokes him
Exactly..
@@mjm3091 Agreed. If the death felt silly to the director(s) and writers, then make one that isn't.
It’s okay he doesn’t deserve screen time anyways
@@mjm3091 They did worse, looks like Dobby hit him in the ass
I didn't even catch this, but the end of the second movie was crazy foreshadowing. Harry tells Dobby to promise him not to ever try to save his life.
@@dimasmerdeka4070 they were talking about the 2nd movie, rhe chamber of secrets
Just one example of many where JK casually lays down a fact then lets it sit for 3 or 4 books before finally exploding it for us to see what's inside.
@@dimasmerdeka4070 You should have continued your story and tell what's the entire plot of the deathly hollows part 2, besides you already spoiled some of it then spoil the whole thing!
Yeah, that always gets a knowing smile from me when I watch Chamber of Secrets..
Also the first and last words we hear Dobby saying were "Harry Potter".
All of these juicy stuff they fail to show in the movies
I now get why some people hate the movies. There are sooooo many things they didnt include which doesnt mke thr movie make sense sometimes
What's awesome is that if Voldy have chosen Neville, we know Neville would have step up and fulfilled his roll too.
Also he chose Harry the Half blood and not the pureblooded Neville
@@OldSchoolGeniusNeville would have been dead. A crucial element of the charm that protected Harry was that Voldemort intended not to kill Lilly and told her that but she gave up her life to protect Harry. Why he intended not to kill Lilly is revealed in the next movie. That wouldn't have been the case with Neville. Voldemort would have just killed his parents like he killed Harry's dad.
@@brandonreed09"why he intended not to kill Lily" wait, I'm sorry, I read the books but it's been awhile. what's the reason?
I never knew this! Time to read the books.
I forgot this , thanks for reminder
that was such a great chapter!
iirc it was something akin to 'now now! don't you be going and replacing people like kingsley!' or some such.
Thank you! We appreciate it. Glad you enjoy it. 🤙🤙🤙 These movies have so much, we could easily do an hour after lol
This! I completely forgot about the hand, it was such a lesson!
Yes, I hate it so much they left that out, never mentioning him after that like he never existed.
I’m still so sad this wasn’t explained in the movies!
I also loved how in the books Winky and Kreacher led the Hogwarts House Elves out of the kitchens into battle against the death eaters and Voldemort!
Harry also inherits Buckbeak and decides to let him stay with Hagird (with another name of course).
The Potters are descended from the third brother who got the cloak of invisibility.
Ugh finally people appreciate DH Pt.1! It's one of my favorites in the whole series, I think it does an incredible job of setting the mood and really conveying the difficulty of this mission they have to contend with.
Yes and he gave Draco the job of killing Dumbledore core because he wanted to punish Lucius with Draco’s death.
Voldemort only kept him around cuz malfoys are ancient pure blood family…like blacks..they even married within families to keep lines pure…age old story
there’s a lot of lure not covered in movies…i’ll say almost as much is covered, is also not covered..

He is one foot away from Avada Kedavra from Voldemort
Harry almost rips the necklace off, angrily starting to hand it over. As he starts to give it to her, he slows and his face softens. Great acting
Similar to Ron in HBP when he comes down from the love potion, it’s amazing to see these kids acting abilities evolve over the movies

Yeah that's one thing that actively makes Deathly Hallows worse, as it makes you wonder why and how Voldemort doesn't attack the Burrow immediately.

"Soon we must all choose between what is right and what is easy." Dumbledore
Our trio definitely didn't choose what was easy.
An important note here - the patronus at the river, that shows the sword of gryffindor was a doe, not a stag. The female form of the stag 💛🖤
a very importsnt detail especially for the last movie
If I remember correctly I believe they do clarify that in the scene. Ron mentions he found harry because he saw the deer and harry says no his patronus is a stag, antlers, and doesn't know where it came from. So hopefully they did catch it in the scene!

@@silverkyreikr! I would never assume that.
@brandonreed09 yes there's nothing there! unless they're saying he's physically standing the closest to Draco and his family on the platform lol

@@katwebbxo Oh yeah, that was great one too
YES I hope they do a reaction video to them, they’re the best deleted scenes in the series imo
Regulus Black was a death eater and he joined very young. All sirius or his family knew happened was he was a death eater, it is likely he didn’t want to be one anymore and so he was killed. They never found out how or by who. He was 18 years old
In this book we find out that regulus discovered Voldemort’s secret about the horcruxes and he was having his doubts about being a death eater and decided to try and stop him.
His story always gives me the chills. Proof, that not all who went to Slytherin were bad.
Whoa, how did I miss that regulus became one of the inferi? Now I’ve got a good excuse go through all the books again. 😆

Thank you, Kevin! We appreciate it 🤙
It really is hilarious how different Oaks mindset was from when this started to right now
It's funny thing back to the first one and now seeing this. Complete change and you all were right.
Thank you for not getting mad at Hermione for not trying to help Dobby. Not to mention in the book she was mercilessly tortured, physically, and with God knows how many cruciatus curses, along with a chandelier falling on her which left her unconscious by the time the gang made it to Shell Cottage.
Hermione's good, but she didn't have the skill to treat such a serious wound, especially one inflicted with a cursed weapon.
The Arc of the Oak throughout the series is so exciting !
George saying "Morning." Is one of my favorite scenes.
Yesss! Excited for this! I saw this in theaters and it was so sad when Dobby died we all were crying 😭 But this movie, while slower paced, definitely was still amazing ❤️
I think you can see a tear in the Answers eyes.
Dobby's grave actually exists, btw. To this day, fans leave tributes at it.
@@DebbyBycroft oh wow

I can’t believe we’re finally here👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I recently just rewatched this series last month and I’m still in awe of these movies and I’m so glad that you all have enjoyed them as well especially since this you’re first time watching so it’s been journey , only one more until the end
We understand it now. The deep passion everyone has for these 🤘
@@BaddMedicine The first 2 are a bit kiddish yes but you couldn't have the rest of the series without the first 2.
In the book Dobby's death was even more heartbreaking, I was sobbing!
Ooof, my book still has the stains from the teardrops that fell onto those pages. 😭
And, pay special note. Since Hedwig's death, you do not hear "Hedwig's Theme" again until near the end credits of the last movie. "Hedwig's Theme" is the very famous song that plays that everyone knows as "Harry Potter Theme".
STOP I just knew this😭😭😭 brb crying over this new fact

My 1st reaction after seeing Deathly Hallows Part I was “When is Deathly Hallow Part II coming out?!”
My reaction after realizing it would be at least a year was “Noooooo! I want to see it now!”
I cried a lot.
When I saw this in the cinema there was a girl behind me dressed up as Luna who was absolutely sobbing her eyes out after Dobby died poor girl. She probably knew it was coming too, I feel it was much rarer to have been just a movie fan at the time since the books were so new 😂
My kids, my husband, AND me were more than a little emotional when Dobby died ... But so was everyone else in the theatre.
Just a question 🌝 are the reaction videos on patreon for harry potter movies different/longer than the ones here on youtube?
"I was waiting for Hedwig to get some action"
Literally 2 Seconds later: "😦😦"
🤣🤣
Seeing all three of you become such invested fans has been so heartwarming and fun. I'm glad you guys gave the series a shot!
since people are talking about the deleted scenes, i actually wish that they include both dudley's farewell to harry and petunia's farewell. for dudley, it shows the character's growth and kinda mend the relationship between him and harry. i really love petunia's scene because it shows that it's not only harry who felt the loss of his parents, petunia also felt the loss of her sister. of course it will never justify the harm that they have done to harry, but at least it humanized them and make us understand their character and what they have been through
yes the petunia one really got me.
Just what I needed today guys. Thanks for the escape. Love your personalities.
Our pleasure! Hope you enjoy and hopefully we can bring a laugh or 2🤙
I remember going to cinema with my mom to watch the first Harry Potter movie.
Before you watch the finale, just one interesting info:
Although everybody knew what would conclude this journey, nobody expected exactly HOW EPIC they would make the finale out to be.
This isn't included in any of the deleted scenes videos I've watched.
@@Shan_Dalamani ruclips.net/video/njpl4xWwK1M/видео.html
in the books she restored her parents memories because the spell she used wasn't "obliviate" it was something else (that wasn't permanent).
For the last one hour, I was refreshing my RUclips feed several times to check if this reaction video had dropped or not. I love your reactions 😍
Dobby's death hits even harder in the book since he's been constantly present in book 2 and again from book 4 onwards, always helping Harry. The movies only showed him in 2 and this one.
Still marathoning my rewatch 🤣
I just wanted to talk about a moment in this movie that always makes me incredibly emotional.
"i saw dobby is back. super excited for that"
me: oh no...
😢
Always great seeing others react to these movies for the first time and embark on the HP journey...you guys have made this so much fun to watch
I've been so excited for this one. Definitely a bit slow-paced, but it sets the stage for the final film.
That's incorrect, but I am not going to spoil it
@@svenvanveenendaal762 It’s absolutely not incorrect. Voldemort only made six horcruxes. Whatever you’re thinking of, doesn’t count mate.
@@sourstuff warning: spoilers ahead
Dumbledore says it himself in Snape's memories that Harry is a horcrux
mundungus fletcher was a minor character in the books. he was not more than a conman and common thief. but he owed dumbledore so he was in the order of the phoenix. arthur weasly once said its handy to have someone in the order who knows the underbelly of society. and in book 5, they had to clean sirius house during their stay at the summer holidays. harry actually found the locket there and the commented how no one could get it open. so they threw it in the trash. but creature snatched it from the trash and put it back into the house until mundungus stole it.
dobby appeared throughout the books helping harry here and there. he worked in hogwarts in the kitchen and did chores and stuff. so he wasnt absent between book 2 and 7
they established a few means of transportation throughout the books: flying, via broom or carpet etc, flea powder, portkeys and apparate, which is basically teleporting. splinching is, when a person cant fully controll his apparating and they leave parts of their body behind. they actually have a magical accident department in the ministry, were they rescue splinced people.
Yeah, it's a shame Order of the Phoenix didn't introduce him right from the start. Also they could've established Mrs Figg earlier as in the films she comes completely out of nowhere in Order.
Whereas in the books it's made properly clear who they are and why they're looking after Harry.
I love how most of the horcruxes actually show up earlier in the series before anyone knows what they are.
I SO look forward to you guys posting a reaction to a HP movie... totally makes my day. Just watching 3 handsome buff dudes get enchanted with magic and hogwarts is incredibly satisfying. You guys are definitely one of my favorite reactors to this franchise. ❤️
Btw the review talks after the film are great! Potterheads can talk about the books and movies for hours, so we totally understand, and we are HERE to know how YOU feel and understand the movie. Can't wait for part 2
You're too kind. Thank you! We appreciate it 🤙 and yes, we could go on for a few hours talking about Potter. 🤣🤙
Oh thank you heather! We appreciate you watching! 🤘🤙
