In the DLC that this is based on, it's clearly established that Riley and Ellie are romantically attracted to each other and they do in fact kiss. Pudgey laughing at herself and at Spartan's "I don't remember" comments is the best part of these reactions lol.
I feel like some people see Ellie "the wrong way" regarding her fascination with violence and guns. I think she sees the power that people with guns get and admires that, and death is something that they have seen since they grew up. Kids born after the apocalypse have had such a different life and Ellie never had anyone close to her die before so death is just a thing she cannot completely relate to. Her laughing at the guy in the beginning was her just seeing a dead body fall, not a dead person.. that is how I see it anyway.

Ellie did mention in ep 4 that it wasn't her first time shooting someone. And she did not wanna talk about it... Makes sense. Also, in the first game: It was indeed established that Ellie is a lesbian.
This ep also laid foundation for Ellie's reaction to ep 5 when Sam said something about if the person is still there after one turns into a monster. Ellie probably had to shoot Riley wondering that too. :'(
Not a bash, but he tends to have a bias to the strong male leads. Watching GoT and these reactions, of course in comparison to the two episodes focusing on side story relationships, he's going to go with the one with the guys having relevance and the ones with the girls taking away unnecessary focus from the show. Great reactions, nonetheless.
There is not much left of Part I of the game. There are only 2 major story arcs left, so 1 episode for each of them. I heard people who had early screening say that it felt a little rushed, the ending, but I have faith in Craig and Neil to do it justice. They have done an amazing job so far with the story and pacing. I know they will not disappoint us for the last 2 episodes. As for how Ellie ended up with the Fireflies, Riley probably turned in a few hours after that and Ellie probably had to kill her. Because the Firefly were coming to pick up Riley the next day to transfer her to the Atlanta QZ, that's how they found Ellie. I'd assume Marlene came with them to pick Riley up and that's how they found Ellie. Otherwise, the other Fireflies would have shot her the moment they see her bite mark on her arm. Marlene knew Ellie's mom and promised to keep her safe, so she would have shown some restraint and not shoot her sight. The episode came directly from the DLC with the same name, Left Behind, and it follows pretty much the same storyline, right down to the kiss. It is also sandwiched between the last episode and the next episode, in term of time in the present.
As a non game player I enjoyed this dive into the back story of Ellie. I picked up clues from other episodes but it was nice to see it fleshed out and learn more of her relationship with Riley. Great reaction episode as always.
I’ve been subbed for a while now and I’ve noticed this competitiveness between Spartan and Pudgey on who can catch onto something quicker than the other 🤣

And I feel like two eps left is exactly what's needed to finish the story up. There isn't that much story to cover left in the first game. And yeah Ellie has been gay since day one pretty much, in the Left Behind DLC we also get the kiss. This episode was really faithful to the gameplay.
For me...at this point...there are only 3 other beats (from the game that they need to hit)... the rest is gameplay and I don't think it's necessary to bring Season 1 to a close. I know some will think of this episode as unnecessary to the main story. I disagree. Ellie and Riley's story is vital to knowing who Ellie is now and where her future is headed. Great Reaction 👍 👍
The three month time skip has nothing to do with it, because that's the exact same in the game. The port of the remake of the first game (Part 1) is coming out for PC in about a month as well. Ellie kissing Riley was in the game as well.
Loved this episode personally! The acting was fantastic on all fronts. The chemistry between Bella and Storm was so palpable and I was so immersed the entire time. Their scene when discovering that they're both bitten is one of my favorite acting on the show so far. The emotional scream from Bella was so fantastic and the display of rage she does after in contrast to Riley just being calm really brought it home for me. Also, I'm sure someone has said it by now, but the kiss is in the game aswell. So she was confirmed LGBT in Part 1.
I really enjoy your reactions! 😄 It's ok if Spartan doesn't remember much of the game. It looks like he played it years ago, no one has to remember everything. And I really hope Spartan plays the game again (and part 2) and Pudgey watches, hope you can upload the gameplay on your channel, I'll definitely watch it. The next 2 episodes will probably be among the best of the season, I can't wait! Thank you again for your videos :)

Great episode with a lot of character depth for Ellie. Riley chose Mileena in Mortal Kombat II and Ellie played Baraka (last game). Both were Lovers in the game. Baraka skewered Mileena with his blades as finisher. That was the metaphorical endgame. That's how Ellie killed Runner-Riley. I think it's clear she stabbed her. That's why Ellie asked Joel in episode 2 what it was like for him to kill an infected, knowing that they once were human. I think she needed a comparison to her own feelings because she couldn't classify them. That's why she tortured and stabbed the stalker in episode 3. She first wanted to see if he felt something and then the anger broke through in her because an infected bit her friend and killed him. Ellie kills Riley and because Riley didn't get in touch with Marlene the next day, she showed up at the mall and took Ellie with her. At least that's what I think. There are hardly any other options. Mortal Kombat was supposed to be the game in the game, but Naughty Dog didn't get permission. So they invented a game. Now HBO has rights to both games and that's how it became possible. The escalator can also be seen metaphorically. No matter how much Ellie runs against it (sometimes everything stays the same, sometimes there are highs), it still goes further and further downhill for her. Here it is shown no matter Fedra or Fireflys, for both you are just a number. They tell you what you want to hear and what benefits them, to achieve the respective goals. And there are always only 2 options to choose from. And both are manipulated into thinking there are not more. There is only one clearly good or one clearly bad choice. The officer at the beginning is not nice, he is manipulative. This can be seen in Riley who is allowed to supervise the sewage work. The Fireflys are no different. Everyone comes in quickly, they made you feel you belong to a family and you are important to them. In fact, Riley is parked alone in the mall with bombs. These also kill civilians, as we saw in Episode 1 on Tess when one of these bombs exploded, killing two teenagers. Lives that are stuck. Eat or die. The series in general is all about the number 2. Bill and Frank, Ellie and Joel, Ellie and Riley, Sam and Henry, Joel and Tommy, Kathleen and Daniel, t(w)ogetherness, two choices, Mortal Kombat 2, joke book volume 2. Last episode Ellie wanted a sip of his liquor around the campfire and said "still gross". In this we see her first sip. I actually thought Ashley Johnson would have her cameo here. Obviously, this was not the case, but it comes later in another memory. Most likely in the season finale. Next episode Troy Baker will get his cameo. Side note to the last episode. Of course, Tommy would have had the best chance of survival even without Joel. He was in Deserts Storm and came back. With Joel, at some point he reached the point where brotherly love could no longer stand above his morals. He didn't want to kill innocents anymore, so he left. And he survived, precisely because there was obviously another way that Joel was unable to see.
Ellie shot Riley when she turned. Back when they were in KC and that guy was going to kill Joel, Ellie shot him in the back to save Joel’s life. Afterwords Joel apologized and said he was sorry that he put her in that situation and she was to young and shouldn’t have to take on the responsibility of taking one’s life. Ellie told Joel that it wasn’t the first time she had to shoot someone. When Joel asked she got emotional and said “I don’t want to talk about it”. We now know that Riley was the first person Ellie had to kill.
Hey you two! I hope you have moderators for the comments. There is at least one big spoiler about the story of The Last of Us Part 2 here that you'd better not read. The comment was written by the user elusiveDEVIANT. So be careful when reading!
I think the episode was important in terms of character building for Ellie. She acts wierd in alot of ways in ep 1 - 6, so i think this episode explains Ellies fears, motivation and behaviour in general etc. And i think what happens in this episode is gonna be important later, as she doesnt abandon Joel, but tries to save him.
They're good, there's two big beats left, one per episode feels more than fine, especially if they go a bit longer, like the first and third one. Also; yeah that kiss was in the game too, same moment, same scene. There were more infected in the game than just one, though :p
What you said about the change in amount of infected, I was honestly glad. They spent HOURS in that mall being ridiculously loud, it only makes sense that 1 stalker wouldn't horde them immediately, I always thought the zombies came out of nowhere in the DLC.
@@0ddkid7 That and it makes it quite interesting that Riley turns and Ellie doesn't despite being definitely bitten by the same zombie. Without giving any spoilers away, I know there were some theories about why Ellie didn't turn that revolved around them being infected by different zombies in the game, so this seems like they're really emphasizing there's something special about Ellie's biology.
@@tabaxi i seen that theory, i like to think of a different theory, I think ellies mom got infected during birth. Idk how it would work, but it sounded cool when I see it somewhere
They did have Ellie kiss Riley in the DLC. They definitely alluded to it, just made it more prominent with the show. But there were certainly hints in the game.
After meeting with Tommy, there's about 2 more hours of gameplay with story (if you go at it in a normal pace), so I think 2 more episodes is perfect for the time we need to finish this story. I've heard a lot of people be worried about it but idk, they've given us 7 stellar episodes so far, I think we should try and be a bit more positive on that front and give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll knock it out of the park, ya know?
I love the series so far and loved the games. But I do feel that the remaining two episodes can be rushed given the published run times. There is a lot of action they have largely ignored for example all of the present-day action with Ellie in the DLC is gone in this episode. While I think that's ok, I do think the action sequences in the final two episodes are pivotal to telling the story, so I'm worried
@@user-fj4sk4uj7c But it is. Because overall they're telling the same story, and people have consistently been saying "omg but the last x amount of episodes though, won't it be rushed" pretty much every single week
@@EzioMAltair the action was "ignored" for a very simple reason, because they are simply unrealistic in a real life scenario. In the game Joel is basically a god (as is Ellie when you play as her). So you get odds that portray that, with consistent hordes of enemies and large areas with multiple infected. The present day action in the DLC adds nothing except gameplay, therefore it was omitted. What's important to realize is that a 14 year old girl with little training when it comes to stealth is not going to kill 10 full sized adults. Besides, the last 2 episodes, if they do indeed crank up the amount of resistance Joel has to go through, imagine how much more of an impact it has considering he usually only has to go up against 2-3 enemies at the same time. In the game, while the moment itself was cool, the fight in the hospital is just another fight against nameless goons.
They didn't have to restrict themselves to 9 episodes though. Nobody cares if it's a 1 to 1 replica from the game. This is a show with a massive budget so they should be able to expand on what the game showed us. They gave us an entire episode for Bill and Frank yet they don't show us anything between KC and Wyoming? We have gameplay in the game to help connect Joel and Ellie more but in the show she basically goes from annoying cargo to his second daughter in 1 episode. I've loved the show but it still deserves it's criticism. I was skeptical before the show started once I heard it was only gonna be 9 episodes. Even if they manage to not make the last 2 episodes feel rushed, why even cut it that close? I wasn't expecting 15+ episodes but 10 to 12 would've been much better. They could've fleshed out the characters so much more. We could've got a whole episode showing Joel the next day after Sara dies or him and Tommy meeting Tess. Like I said this is a big budget HBO series. They could've done so much more yet they just made a few minor tweaks that did nothing to expand the story like change the race of a few characters.
I don’t think the episode is the problem, I think it’s that we only have 9 when there should be more. If we had more episodes, people wouldn’t be looking at this episode thinking we shouldn’t have spent time on it, if that makes sense. Also, nothing new: Spartan doesn’t remember they kissed. It’s comedy gold at this point.
Not sure I'd call it a "slow" episode. Not all of them are gonna be big shocker high action episodes, you need one like this to develop stories and understand characters more. And no way you can make this DLC from the game that's such a key story only part of an episode. This always needed to be it's own.
Nice reaction guys! This episode was really good. It would be nice watching you guys play the games together, whilst Im liking the show, I still feel like the game has something special about it and that the show is missing. Or maybe it is that even the performances by Pedro and Bella are amazing, the ones that Ashley and Troy did for the game were too good to be topped haha. Anyways im really curious to see how the show does the next episode, theres a key scene that I hope they can do better than ones from the 5th episode which were really underwhelming for me.
Oh man you already saw Oberyns fight, but that is still a couple of episodes from your latest reaction on YT :( can't wait, rollercoaster of emotions right? TLOU is awesome to, it seems Pedro is always the right choice. Apparently Mandalorian is coming soon as well ;)
I wish riley had her pipe bomb accessible so she could use it on the infected. Im curious what using thread to sew a person together will do long-term? Like, will the thread need to be removed? Prob wont dissolve lol
The producers have come out and said that Season 1 will cover Part 1 of the game in its entirety. I do think they'll split Part 2 over two seasons though, as I've heard it's a longer and more complex story than Part 1.
yeah, they're already said season 2 will be an adaptation of part 2, but I think this notion that it's going to be rushed is false. Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin's accolades should have people not worried.
Ellie was always Lesbian, in the DLC she does kiss Riley right before they're attacked. Honestly, no hate, but I'm not convinced Spartan actually played the game 😂
They can easily rap it up in two episodes. At this point in the game there is only one major plot line that fits T.V and the ending of course. The rest is suited for a game more than a T.V series. As they done so far you not going to have much of the gameplay elements in it because it's a game and the number one reason it is cheaper to make the game compared to making a series.
I feel like this is all necessary to the story, but instead of a single 45 minute flashback in a standalone episode, this material should’ve been 3-5 smaller flashbacks spread throughout the season, maybe whenever Ellie is feeling abandoned or is reminded of Riley
Eyes watering is not crying or not enough emotion to justify a cry. I wouldn't be interested in watching Pudgey watching Spartan play the game. Now if you could both play at the same time that would be worth watching.
There really is not that much story left for game 1. There's two major segments remaining, which only took so long in the game because of difficulty and "sneaking" and the general slog of getting through the missions.
Besides ep1, my 3 favorite episodes were about all the side characters/stories (Bill/Frank, Sam/Henry, and this backstory). Ik people want a ton of Joel/Ellie and action, but I prefer how they flushed out the world and made the threat of infected actually real, instead of just seeing long drawn-out action scenes and going TWD 2.0
Ellie definitely kissed Riley in the game. Ironically it was a much bigger reveal back then. In your defence, Ellie and Riley were originally written as just “best friends” until Left Behind came out, and the foreshadowing was more subtle. On top of that, a large percentage of people wrote off the kiss as “that’s just what girls do”, only to apparently be surprised by the sequel.
@@bobcarter6869 I was referring to source material, not the base game. And I know not everyone played that, but he said he did and just didn’t remember it.
I swear people act like we’re missing out on so much when they skip large parts of fighting. But it’s way way more realistic the way they’re doing it in the show, rather than Joel mowing down dozens of people every episode which would be so damn boring after awhile. This is so much better and the changes they’ve made are nothing but realistic and work very well.
@@AriSellassie I know! Especially in this episode making the choice of the mall horde from the game being replaced with a singular infected makes things so much more impactful. Really hits home the danger that is out there. One person could mean the life or death of Joel. One infected is a huge danger. And the original horde in the game was unrealistic anyways, we’re in this mall making a bunch of noise for hours and then don’t see anything that indicates a bunch of infected are hiding somewhere, and then suddenly the place is overflowing. I’m very glad at the changes they’ve made to the action fight scenes
@@mrdavman13 Well, they are cutting out a good bit of stuff that isn't fighting. There are some character development moments in the game that they have nixxed completely. I feel they could have tightened up the pacing of some of the less important content this season to fit some of that in.
Just bc you're not worried about it doesn't mean it's invalid for others to feel that way. They started off great; it doesn't mean they'll stick the landing.
Like Pudgey, I am hoping that maybe S2 won’t officially be the second game. That maybe HBO will change their mind and give us some “in between games” time because they know how much people love the characters.
I haven't played the game, and I'm not sure, but I think the woman testing the child who came to the QZ in the first episode was Marleen, which would explain why they chained up Ellie when they first found her. She'd been testing everyone, I think.
No, that was not Marleen. That was just some random fedra guard. Marleen is the leader of the Fireflies and the one who talked to Ellie and then asked Joel and Tess whether they would smuggle Ellie out of the QZ, after she (Marleen) got shot by Robert.
Pudgey you legend!! You watched it like I did… we knew already that Ellie wasn’t going to leave Joel at the start as we’ve been following their journey and how its grown… I understand that the flashback is good but not to the extent of pretty much the whole episode?!! You and me didn’t know if Ned 🤔ahem Joel would be alive and that tear only happened when Joel was onscreen at the end ❤️ so it doesn’t count!! Like Spartan said, I’m uneasy about this ep and how they’re going to tie things up in shorter last two episodes… hopefully we’ll look back and say that it didn’t seem rushed and that there was room for this major diversion of momentum 🙏
If you think about it in a game aspect, after we arrived at tommys place we truly only have 2 hours of story left, which is perfect for 2 episodes imo. I have no doubt they are going to smash it out of the park especially with all the fantastic episodes we have had. There is really only 2 more major events and the bulk of the time spent in those is gameplay which can be portrayed in a much shorter way for the show.
@@davidnguyen3275 I’m enjoying reaction vids about the show hence we’re here? Spartan even suggested it too along with other reactors… seems like there’s still a fair bit to cover in only two eps but I remain optimistic as its been so great so far 😊

The fact that this is HBO means 2 important things. 1st and foremost, It means Without even watching one episode you can just assume that the show is gonna be amazing. But secondly.... It means that nobody is safe. Especially main characters. Do we remember Ned Stark? Now that was a pre written story and ned's death happened in the book. So it did not have the same impact that it would have if Last Of Us decided to kill Joel off by stabbing him with a baseball bat......which aside from sounding so ridiculous its a little comical, would be an insulting way to kill him off. But you just said it yourself it wouldn't be the 1st time that HBO pissed off their audience by killing off Pedro Pascal. OK stop and give me your honest assessment here.......... Did you not see Prince Oberyn's death coming at least 2 episodes before he actually died? As gory as it was it was entirely predictable.... Embarrassingly predictable even. Every single word out of his mouth screamed that he was going to get his come uppence for being so bold and egotistical. "Im going to kill that" "Today is not the day I die" "I always drink before a fight" "Oh...you're dying? No no you cant die yet you havent confessed." It was so obvious that the very 1st time I ever watched that scene I said to everybody in the room at the exact moment it happened that he was about to get tripped. I said it...... and then the mountain's hand moved and did it. So so obvious. But still amazing and shocking. Its hard to see Pedro scream in agony like that.

I agree. I played on ps3 and still remember everything. I'm busy with kids and everything else since then 10 years later and remember everything. Played DLC on ps4 twice and remember that.
I have played LOU twice, and had high hopes for this show. Besides a bit of character study which has been surprisingly good, I’m disappointed as a whole. The show literally is replaying the game on digital film, but yet has very little of the quality of the story. Re hashing is no guarantee of good story telling.
Exactly. This is a big budget HBO show. They had such a great opportunity to expand and flesh out things the game couldn't show us but they didn't. I was skeptical before the show came out when I heard it was only gonna be 9 episodes. I feel like the show is only meant for people who didn't play the game since they really didn't change or expand on anything. It's basically the cutscenes in live action.
Why did you guys cut out the kiss scene? You also didn't seem to react to it at all lol. I was almost wondering if you guys saw the version from one of those countries where they cut it out, haha.
@@SpartanandPudgey Cool. I honestly respect that it didn't make you guys freak out (positively or negatively) like most people did. It honestly just felt like two people in love, and I thought it was beautiful. It wasn't all about their sexuality, it was about their love for each other specifically. I think it was great.
Episodes 5 and 6 were very solid. This is a bit less interesting because it stops the main story but it's so important to understand Ellie as a character. You can't have strong cliffhangers every episode. Hang on… when did she shoot someone? Thought it was Riley with the gun 🤷♂️

@@Shardok1 yep and no… when did Ellie shoot someone prior to ep 4?

This ep also laid foundation for Ellie's reaction to ep 5 when Sam said something about if the person is still there after one turns into a monster. Ellie probably had to shoot Riley wondering that too. :'(

The fact of the matter is Joel does die in the games

The kiss/dance scene was pretty much 1:1 from the game, so yeah they already started ellie's gay story arc in the 1st game
When she took the sip from Joel's flask and said "still gross" this is what she was referring to.
For sure. And they thought it was coffee at the time, i believe in reference to when they camped in the woods lol
Spartan not remembering things is the meme of the channel. 😅
@@jynxce so? That’s good. However, these woke shows will always have woke garbage in them.
@@ragnarok283 define “woke”, and do it quick
@@oxymarvin One month later, and he still can't define it lol.
I think i’ll be interested in these two watching these scenes from the game and seeing spartan remember it. Also their reaction to how accurate it is
Admittance is the first step.
...You can still come clean, Spartan.
Lol
The answer is: PLAY THE GAME!!! I want to see Pudgys reaction!!
I’ve been subbed for a while now and I’ve noticed this competitiveness between Spartan and Pudgey on who can catch onto something quicker than the other 🤣
You Know What’s Crazy? Pudgey Didn’t Cry And I, A Full Grown Man Cried For One Of The First Times In The Series 😂 Pudgey Cries All The Time And The One Time I Teared Up, She Didn’t 😅
I Don’t Know Why But When Ellie Saw Her Bite And Started Trying To Rub It Away Screaming “No” I Started Tearing Up, Weird Huh? Cuz We All Know She’s Ok, But It Just Hit Me For Some Reason
Probably because she doesn't know that and you're seeing a young girl thinking her life is at an end.
Ellie and Riley's backstory wasn't in the original game, it's a DLC released later.
It was planned though
Loved this episode personally! The acting was fantastic on all fronts. The chemistry between Bella and Storm was so palpable and I was so immersed the entire time. Their scene when discovering that they're both bitten is one of my favorite acting on the show so far. The emotional scream from Bella was so fantastic and the display of rage she does after in contrast to Riley just being calm really brought it home for me.
Also, I'm sure someone has said it by now, but the kiss is in the game aswell. So she was confirmed LGBT in Part 1.

28:18 Is it me or did they miss the kiss?

28:02 nice cosplay of Rob Stark there, Ellie. 🐺
The finale is only 45 mins
Episode 8 is an hour & Episide 9 is 45 minutes.
I enjoy the Devil’s Lettuce and the way Pudgey says “I’m Puh-geeeEEEE” is all I want to talk about. But where is my cat?
I know I love that I'm Puh-geeEEEE
I love that a lot of these dialogues were taken straight out of the game.
There is no need to look into the game so much, that's just a reference, they can add things or change them if they think it is better for this format
Good morning from Texas, y’all. Poor Pudgey!! Between this show and GOT, you’re gonna need therapy.
Not sure I'd call it a "slow" episode. Not all of them are gonna be big shocker high action episodes, you need one like this to develop stories and understand characters more. And no way you can make this DLC from the game that's such a key story only part of an episode. This always needed to be it's own.
Please please please do a play through! I would love to watch that! I can see you guys really enjoying that ❤
Nice reaction guys!
I don't know why i think about that but:
Spartan is left hand
Pudgey is right hand

Ellie definitely kissed Riley in the DLC. Spartan you kinda spoiled TLOU 2 there by mistakenly saying that it's revealed in that game.
Oh man you already saw Oberyns fight, but that is still a couple of episodes from your latest reaction on YT :( can't wait, rollercoaster of emotions right?
TLOU is awesome to, it seems Pedro is always the right choice. Apparently Mandalorian is coming soon as well ;)
what are you watching the Saudi cut? NO comment about the kiss?
I wish riley had her pipe bomb accessible so she could use it on the infected.
Im curious what using thread to sew a person together will do long-term? Like, will the thread need to be removed? Prob wont dissolve lol
1:58 that's why he needs a helmet! or body armor as Joel. T -T
Why are you assuming that they have to tell the whole story in one season?? Pretty sure it has been renewed for a season 2.
38:30 we still don't know the fate of ellie this season. why bring up the 2nd game?
Great flashback
It'd be fun to watch you guys play and compare the game, make sure to grab the new remake PS5 version too
Surprised by the lukewarm response to this episode.
Another great reaction! 🙂
I feel like this is all necessary to the story, but instead of a single 45 minute flashback in a standalone episode, this material should’ve been 3-5 smaller flashbacks spread throughout the season, maybe whenever Ellie is feeling abandoned or is reminded of Riley
So instead of 9, we should have 8 episodes. Wait … 3 is way too long as well. We should have 7 episodes.
She did not kiss her in the original game only in the dlc not everyone played that
@@bobcarter6869 I was referring to source material, not the base game. And I know not everyone played that, but he said he did and just didn’t remember it.
Ellie was shown to be a lesbian in Last of us 1 but it was barely told because she never met a girl
Most of the game is nothing but gameplay I’m not worried bout the pacing of the last 2 episodes
@@mrdavman13 yeah plus withholding it so much makes the violence hit us and the characters so much harder

I mean, I'd definitely be taking some soap.
Like Pudgey, I am hoping that maybe S2 won’t officially be the second game. That maybe HBO will change their mind and give us some “in between games” time because they know how much people love the characters.
I’m not holding my breath for any sympathy because they know we love the characters. If they do it can be a pleasant surprise.
I mean, those moments happen in the second game so I'm sure they won't ignore them.
I kno'er, but where did she go'er tho'er?
I haven't played the game, and I'm not sure, but I think the woman testing the child who came to the QZ in the first episode was Marleen, which would explain why they chained up Ellie when they first found her. She'd been testing everyone, I think.
No, that was not Marleen. That was just some random fedra guard. Marleen is the leader of the Fireflies and the one who talked to Ellie and then asked Joel and Tess whether they would smuggle Ellie out of the QZ, after she (Marleen) got shot by Robert.
Spartan based on the game , do you think the last 2 episodes will feel kinda rushed? There's a lot to cover and only 2 episodes left..
potentially, yes. time will tell
If you don’t/didn’t play the game then why would you concern how they tie things up in last two episodes, since you don’t know how it ends?

No no you cant die yet you havent confessed."
It was so obvious that the very 1st time I ever watched that scene I said to everybody in the room at the exact moment it happened that he was about to get tripped. I said it...... and then the mountain's hand moved and did it. So so obvious. But still amazing and shocking. Its hard to see Pedro scream in agony like that.

@@inomadcampdave They fleshed out stuff quite a bit with Sarah, the Jakarta scene, and Bil & Frank.
It makes me wonder why every reactor i saw is happy that brettany got beat up when it was ellie who was in the wrong lol.
Because Ellie rocks an Brittany sucks
Bethany. And she started it, Ellie just finished it.
This was an uncharacteristically bad reaction. So much misunderstanding and misremembering.
Why did you guys cut out the kiss scene? You also didn't seem to react to it at all lol. I was almost wondering if you guys saw the version from one of those countries where they cut it out, haha.
we just didn't have a reaction to it so it didn't make the edit
@@SpartanandPudgey Cool. I honestly respect that it didn't make you guys freak out (positively or negatively) like most people did. I think the writers and directors did an amazing job with that part. They didn't lean into or focus on Ellie being gay, just so they could check off another box. It honestly just felt like two people in love, and I thought it was beautiful. It wasn't all about their sexuality, it was about their love for each other specifically. I think it was great.
This series started strong but is not very interesting the last few episodes.
Episodes 5 and 6 were very solid. This is a bit less interesting because it stops the main story but it's so important to understand Ellie as a character. You can't have strong cliffhangers every episode. Anyway, as someone who has played the game, I can say that next two episodes have the potential to be insane, and I hope that seeing how they went until now. (Sorry if my english is not perfect, I'm still learning)
I can understand this as your perspective if you haven’t played the game.
This ep was a homage to the DLC explaining Ellie’s bite.
Nice to include for the video game fans but understandably left field for people just fans of the tv show
@@99LucaJuve Yeah, the last two episodes are very capable of being outstanding and probably better than the ones before. I’m super excited to see what they’ll do with it.
@@808bluemont Disagree. I thought the DLC was so boring when I played it. But I loved this episode. I think the Left Behind story works better as a show.
@@808bluemont I honestly disagree. I feel like this episode was very important for Ellie as a character. We get to see what her life was like before this adventure, who was important to her and why, who she lost and how she got bitten. You get to see more of her personal interests and how she interacts in a romantic situation. Its such an important stepping stone episode for transitioning to season 2.
