Thank you for recording this! I lived in Kinnelon when I was young. We used to go here all the time, and I struggled to find videos or photos of it. This meant a lot!
Np! This meant a lot to me as well. My dad used to own a pizzeria in Bloomingdale not far from this place and my mom would sometimes take me here when the Stop & Shop used to be a Pathmark and I remember seeing the Kinnelon Cinemas here. Seeing this always brings back nostalgia to me, the good old days of the 90s!
I grew up here. Sad to see the theater, Christopher’s and Kit Hong closed. That was the spot for Chinese growing up. And you’re right about Burger King and grand union.
Coming back there was nostalgic, I remember Grand Union was there in the 90s and same for BK. They demolished both of them and put a Wawa & CVS in its place. I think Kit Hong closed in March 2022, the owner retired. The Stop & Shop used to be a Pathmark as well
@@TimurD1905 It was always Pathmark to me, although we more of an A&P and Grand Union family. There was also a great arcade by the BK that existed through the 80s at least. You could rent the place out for birthday parties and they would just turn all the machines on, no quarters needed. Awesome times.
@@HappierNowe Wow, I never knew there was an arcade there before. Now you have to pay for anything and so many rules and regulations anywhere you go. Back then it was simpler times, I'm just glad I grew up as a kid in the 90s and remember all these places back then!
There used to be a really nice five and dime store in the main part of that building and if we got to the movie theatres early, we'd spend time in there. It was sad when that closed. It's even sadder to see the cinema closed. When my family first moved to Morris County, we would go to the Meadtown theatre nearby. It was insane to discover they split the building to have three screens when the original single screen and seating area wasn't gigantic. I no longer live in the state but it's still sad to see familiar places close.
@@TimurD1905 You're very correct. I lived in upper Morris County from 1969 to 2021 and had to leave the family home of 52 years. I think that would have been impossible if NJ, especially my town, remained as it was in its heyday. The state feels like a shell now; a mere shadow of what it used to be.
There’s a closed/abandoned movie theater in Tom’s river by the mall. It was a lowes/AMC. Owner of building won’t let the shops update and didn’t renew there lease. It was stuck in the 90s.
It’s so unfortunate that many theaters closed during the pandemic for good, while others are on on the brink. For example, the Regal in Pohatcong / Phillipsburg NJ is rumored to close sometime this year (what a way to celebrate it being 25 now) which is a shame since it was always a favorite theater of mine throughout my life. If in fact it does close, I’ll notify you.
Thanks man, I would be glad to film it! I think they been on the decline lately, also being that a lot of people are watching movies online and even new movies that came out
Unfortunately buddy 1990’s baby love movie theater everyone like going there back in the day fun memories myself top of work right when cov-19 March 2020. Just so know further information so sad for rent now. Look very abandoned movie theater work depressed 3 half years . Good times and poster torture down look weird never inside of that. Video games arcade too double doors. How old are you buddy?

NJ is not what it used to be, quite sad honestly

Thanks for sharing. I used to go here all the time and it’s sad how much is closed down.
Yeah it really is sad, I came here when I was a kid in the late 90's. Those times were so much better in my opinion

Thanks, I definitely wanna check that out!
Is there a pathmark version of that teal signage
Hope your day at work went well. All the best to you. Take care.

I think they can't afford the lease or rent possibly
The Bed Bath & Beyond in Mount Laurel NJ is closing maybe you film it sometime
I think they are gonna close down the rest of them in a year or two, they aren't doing well
What part of NJ is this ??
Northern Morris County area, it's also next to Route 23
@@TimurD1905 never heard of that town
Place changes owners all the time …
Why do you think that is the case?
