I had family members brought vehicles from their for many years.

I don’t know about a long time ago, but recently or for a few years before they closed they used the back of the building to use for vehicles that were either waiting for service for were done getting serviced as you can see there wasn’t much room in the front of the building to park. Also across the street from the closed part of the fence they used to keep new vehicles in that empty lot.

The door with the stairs going up to it was the main entrance... the other doors had a sign on it that have arrows saying "please use other door" that you can see clear as day on google street view. Also, You're correct about the stop & shop down the road on 23 in Pompton Plains at Jackson Ave... It was A&P when I was around there. After sandy hit the area in 2012, it never reopened and was left for nothing until Stop & Shop took it over in 2015.

Yeah, I believe they were under. They lost their quality food. They were good at first until they tried to sell during Covid. I think two months before the pandemic with a new company and they just couldn’t financially handle it.

This use to be a store called Grandway. Way before Kmart ever was. This was in the late 60’s early 70’s.

I remember when they added the circle back in the 70s There was a burger chef restaurant on the left now it’s the ice cream stand. You got a burger fries and a drink for 98C. Up the road was my wife’s Dr in the funky color professional building.

I've been living here for DECADES. And this video was from 2 years ago. Man, I haven't visited this part of town for a long time. It's crazy that I searched for Jamesway in Tamaqua on here and actually found this video on the (now defunct) YMCA that took its place. 😂

What is it becoming

That was the first red robbins I went to. Shame it closed down. That was the best spot to eat at when you were at that plaza

It was originally a woolco department store

That restaurant had been there from the 1960’s. I went there as a child. It was called “Perkins Cake and Steak” then. I worked there for a week in 1988. It was a busy restaurant but until the early 2000’s when the area gentrified and NYers moved it, the neighborhood was a little dicey.

That store has been there for close to 60 years! On the opposite end used to be a movie theater! I worked at that ShopRite in 1991

hey man ever been to stamford and checked out the old abandoned world wresting headquarters off main street, they closed when the hq moved acrossed town to the old ubs building.

Damn, I recognize this place. I grew up close to there and have been to many movies there. I moved during covid and had no idea it shut down. I just went on google and verified it is the theater I am thinking of. All I will say is that it’s in NJ. It’s so sad what Covid did to our way of life.

You keep saying your curious what's inside yet you never made an effort to go up to the door and just ask the guys that you are curious about what's going on with the old building and if you can take a look around. Most likely they will either allow to take a quick peek or allow you to look from the door. You loose nothing by asking. Most of these guys are cool about it. It was your golden opportunity to see inside since the workers were actually there and you are not breaking in. Oh well

I remember when this was built. Actually had a checking account there until I moved out west. This was way before it was TD Bank. To this day I think it is beautiful architecture; even in its run-down condition! Thanks for posting this!
