Great tutorial. Thanks so much for putting this together. Took me about 1.5 hrs to clean my 12ii. Feels alot better now and free-er.

Thanks Rob. Greatly appreciated. Took some time for me too, but feeling more comfortable with it and I’m sure we’ll get much more comfortable the more we repeat it. Now to slay more 🐟 next season 😆🤙

Thanks for watching Andrew! Agreed, love them. Very smooth, insane freespool, lots of power, all in a nice size 🙌

A SALTIGA inspired TALlCA 12A & 16A Series is coming. Maybe trying to offset Salitigas popularity.

True. Glad they finally updated it. Wish they gave a lower low gear option.

Hi, thanks for watching. There is a 6 total bearings. 3 in the spool. 2 in gear side. 1 in handle. You can find the schematics here: fishshop.shimano.com/collections/tac12

G'day bud. I photocopied the schematic for this reel and could only find 5 ball bearing races. I am wondering where the 6th ball bearing race is? Pick up one or a set of slim electrician screwdrivers from either Wera, Wiha, Felo or Whitte and relegate the small screwdriver you are currently using to some other task. Find some plastic phone/car panel removal tools as this will save scratching surfaces when removing shims, collars and washers etc. Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions. Haven’t started on breaking apart my other reels as I’ve been awaiting the correct tools. Thanks for the suggestions on the brands. I didn’t find all the bearings either 😅. Hopefully I can get the tools soon, still have a Talica 16 that needs the same service. Thanks again, cheers 🤙

@@Seastheday88 No wuz, happy to help bud! If ever you download schematics off Shimano's website, be sure to get them printed on A3 sized paper, otherwise you'll go blind looking at A4 paper. I also reckon the A3 printouts would look good framed and hung on a wall, Cheers :-)

@@OlympusHeavyCavalry just wanted to say thanks. I picked up a Vessel +1 JIS screwdriver and has a good bite. Rabbit hole research, but worth it 🙌 thanks🤙

Is this the same for a speed master 12. I can’t find a video. I dunked my reel yesterday kayak fishing.

Sorry to hear Alan, I believe it should be very close. The concept of the breakdown has been similar to other manufacturers that I’ve seen as well, so this should help with a speedmaster. If you’re not comfortable, I suggest a tackle shop. But if you’re patient and want to tackle it on your own, take some pauses to take pics with your phones so you have an idea how things were placed, screwed, etc. good luck

@@Seastheday88 I tried to service today and im glad I did cause there was a lot of salt water trapped inside. I followed along with not problem. The Talica was very similar to my Speed Master. The only thing is that when I put everything back together, when I lower the drag to free spool, the handle still turns. Can you help with trouble shooting this or give me an idea where should I take apart first. Thanks in advance. Alan

@@alanabara1248 Howzit Alan, The drag cam inside needs readjustments. Put the lever in freespool position, then insert the drag cams and start dialing clockwise and check with lever to strike every few dials. Always remember to put the lever back to freespool before adjusting the cam knob. Hope that helps!
