  • One of the best short hikes in California is Bassi Falls near Kyburz. It's a popular destination, but not many people climb to the top where it gets even better!

      I’ll usually go to Yosemite if I have the day off but I recently visited pinnacles and really enjoyed it

      Pinnacles is great! I've got several videos covering all the major trails and some off-trail coming up if you want previews. :)

    We camped at Union Valley Reservoir, Ice House Reservoir and Loon Lake a hundred or more times when I was a kid, but to this day I still haven't made it up to Bassi Falls. Maybe later this year - it's under snow right now!

    I love this hike but how did you get to the top of the last waterfall? Right side, left side? I've always wanted to climb it.

    • @BackcountryPilgrim
      @BackcountryPilgrim  3 месяца назад

      Left. The approach path is fairly clear and then there's just some minor scrambling. :)

    Do you live in the area? I lived in Placerville for ever until I moved to idaho

      No I just try to get up into the area a time or two a year. I had family in Placerville for a while though! :)

    Is all of this on trail? if not where can I find this trail?

      The trails to the falls are clear but to get to the top you just need to work out a route scrambling up the rocks. It's pretty straightforward.
