This game looks very well made for 1993, the animation and music is high quality for its time!
Saw a melee weapon wielding giant rat mounted by a clown and just had to click.
That’s got nothing on the naked purple horseman sitting there like a boss, only to be beaten like a bitch after it.
That kinda looks like Tim Curry's PennyWise.

Boy, you really steamrolled some of these bosses. The final boss barely had a chance to do anything!

Pretty cool, nice boss music, and that ghost hound is a awesome boss design.

The bosses are all threats that Mikami, Yokoshima, and Okinu had to contend with in the first part of the manga's run. The (defective knockoff) wish-statue is probably conjuring facsimiles as its tests.

I saw the anime when I was little!
Too bad this game wasn't ported to us and eu, I played it on a emulator and it's dificulty is fair.
Still a bit harder sometimes but c'mon, ghosts n goblins had a hellish dificulty at the beginning.
The battle against shadow mikami reminds me to the final boss in zelda 2, where link fights dark link.
"Hmm...the violent evil spirits we're exorcising are leaving behind these magic gems...let's attach them to this weird ancient statue that is gradually becoming more and more real with each gem we give it. *Surely* nothing bad will happen when we complete the set!" 😅
I want to watch the anime now. And there are cosplays of Mikami.
That was and is a cool game that passed under the radar,it would be really cool to see a new game from wayforward! I would love to give similar animations though to most of those bosses when you hit them changing those expressions,like the first boss and the horse guy close to the end.
I think that is probably pretty impossible as they'd have to literally obtain license rights from the rights holders of the original anime and manga author and the series was pretty popular in Japan, about as much as Sailor Moon also was, so I don't see that happening without some MAJOR negotiations taking place.

When I saw this, I couldn't believe they made a game from one of my fave classic manga (maybe they made an anime but all I read was the manga). This is from Ghost Sweeper Mikami to all of those who are wondering. GS Mikami for short.

Brilliant game, but elusive to get cheap from US sellers. Only happened once, and of course at that time I didn't have the cash for it. It sold fast on Amazon.

GS Mikami! I know this games I never played this on the SNES or SFC whatever you want to call it. Less I know it's the Japanese version. Awesome boss fight. At least I watch the anime season I mean the whole episode and the movie. They don't make games like these anymore.

Awesome vid! Classic, early nineties/late eighties anime cliches in full effect! My only regret is that the chick didn't go through some miraculous, super transformation to fight the final boss.

パイパー(ステージ6)とラスボス(メドーサ)はガチでキツかった😢
ナイトメア(ステージ7)は最初のjk時代美神さんさえ乗り越えれば楽だった。
ブラドー伯爵(ステージ5)は箒の操作に慣れれば何とかなったけど、この辺りからボスが急に強くなった気がする。

Cristina Vee would do well to voice the main character in English.
@@paxhumana2015 I totally agree. Cristina would be perfect. I always thought Vee sounded a lot like Lisa Ortiz who voices Lina Inverse, and Lina Inverse, while also being my favorite character of all time, kinda resembles Mikami in her looks and personality, too.

@@mrobscene4816 in the original anime/manga Mikami considers herself fashionable. In the series, Mikami is a shrewd, intelligent, but hot-headded woman with expansive tastes and a greedy demenour to match. So this kinda goes in line with her general personality.

I know back in the SNES era of gaming, games had no real plot to them and all... but what is this game about? I mean..... a busty red headed bombshell in a dress with a walking cane which judging by the genre of the game, belongs to a magician, is fighting against supernatural forces? I mean.... what happened? Did an act in Vegas go wrong or something and it’s up to the voluptuous assistant slash apprentice to save the day?
