If you do it long enough, it takes seconds to setup and film. So the delay is minimal.

I guess he got so used to it that it comes natural and is already calculated in the time

In vlogging, it won't take you 3 minutes to set up your camera. besides, it's already ON. Unlike filmmaking/moviemaking, you really have to set every thing right before you take the shots. 😎

I think Casey wants his audience to know what's up (he does this on almost every other social media). Hence he's taking us with him in his daily life, which seems to be the same. So please be happy with him giving you the opportunity to have a look on what's going on at the moment.

He's paid to give these talks. Typically the presenter doesn't want them made public. For example Gary who was in this makes over $200k for some talks. You pay that much for someone to come you don't want to give that content away for free.

The legal flight altitude in Canada is 300ft, you went way above that.
I will always love how Casey says "I'm running so late" but still has time to talk to the camera, film time lapses & film drone shots etc! Always gotta get the perfect shot no matter how late it makes you! I love that!
Toni Halliday the time lapses aren't filmed in order. He often time films a lot at once and has them to use whenever he needs.

He should get a Panasonic G7 or Gh4. They're both great cameras that shoot 4k like he wants, but still have that awesome, more vibrant color to their image like the 70D has.
not really, the video quality out of the box is better for sony, but color out of the box is lacking.

well besides it being out of focus, the thing you have to do is color correct. canon's color science is more pleasing out of the box compared to sony but sony is far superior in quality. you just have to color correct and grade the image a little bit.

that's called editing, he flew the drone after he had already arrived at the destination and then used the clips to make it look like he flew it while they were driving there

I think the 80D looked just as good and it had the well needed flip-out screen.
Quality wasn't the issue. Canon was a dick about not wanting to repair a lens.
Isaac Rodriguez is right. It's all about the service, not the quality. Casey really got pissed when he was informed that there's no way for his old canon be fixed.

It's called a small screen monitor he made a working rig of this but probably was too big to travel. It plugs right into hdmi out just need the metal bracket that attaches to the same point your tripod would or can attach it to the hotshoe mount.

he flew it from the location he was standing when he landed in his hand. The drone has a long range so he must have had a nearby highway. The magic of editing is that he can film in the car and splice it with the later taken drone footage...making it look like he is flying it while driving.

Miss the warmer colours of the Canon camera. That Sony just makes everything too green/blue.
Mr David Howell Canon has horrible compression though the colour shift can be easily corrected where as canons compression can not
totally agree, the Canon was much warmer and more enjoyable to watch

That Sony image clarity and detail seems much better. He can always warm it up in post if he wants.
