Excuse me, why does this video only have 673 views??? I'm 4 minutes in and I've already taken several notes. I went to music school for performance and learned all the music theory things, but your videos have been SO helpful in seeing the concepts put to use in the real world. I've been absolutely devouring your analyses since I found them and am so excited to put elements from them into practice in my own compositions.

Did you arrange it live ? 😱 Where you looking at a sheet of music you arranged before ?
    Sounds awesome !

I think this is my favorite song in Hamilton, as well as "It's quiet uptown." It actually was very hard for me to understand some of the lyrics when I went to see Hamilton.

Congrats Mateo. Saw your email update earlier today. I’m sure it’s your talent + hard work! Thanks for this video and others you posted. They made me appreciate and notice things I didn’t know before in the musicals. All the best on your journey!

I don't say this to be incendiary or disrespectful toward Lin-Manuel Miranda at all but, in my opinion, Alex Lacamoire is the real genius behind the show.

Bar 7 be like: SLUG SEX!!!!!
I want to go back and watch the choreography again with all these labels.
When you said the notes are being swung... is that notated? With those connecting lines? Or is that based on the recording?

It’s notated on top of the first staff, as part of the tempo marking: “Light, with a bounce; Swing 16ths”
