In your video when you click test it auto-generates a number but for me when I follow these directions it says "The web service returned no fields.Click here to view the raw data" how should I proceed?
This is a very helpful video! My one question: I understand how to generate the unique 4-digit code and that it will probably show up in the dataset you download from Qualtrics. But how do you verify each unique code that each MTurker types into the MTurk with what was generated by Qualtrics? Do you have to go through every single line of data to check against the HITs listed in the MTurk system? Isn't it better to just have one code word that all MTurkers will need to use? I understand that means they could be sharing it on message boards, but does that really happen? Even if they share a common code word, they would have to complete to survey to get full payment.
Great question - I should make a video on this. No it is inadvisable to use the same code. In excel you can match the codes from qualtrics to those entered by mturk users.
When I type in the RNG link Qualtrics says it is deprecated and gives me another link (that goes nowhere) to try instead. Is there another link I ought to use?
Dr Manis is it normal that when you preview from qualtrics the descriptive question where you say thank you and provide mturk code, the code will not show? Hope you can answer me and thank you for the video!
@@KTManis ok thank you ! so if every step is done correctly we should get a number even if we don't publish the survey and we just preview the last question
Thank you for the video! I followed your steps very carefully, but I still can't find where I can get the survey code. Could you please explain a little bit more? Thank you!
Great tutorial! Cheers from Brazil.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your video! It is very clear and easy to follow.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Manis. We met in SMA in New Orleans.
Thank you! - Yes I remember you were from UTRGV - I hope you are doing well!
@@KTManis Welcome! - Yes, I am fine. How about you? Still in Texas Tech?
@@sudiptosarkar5262 Yes I am still at Texas Tech.
Many thanks for the video, Dr. Manis. What does that URL address mean? Can I type a different one, is it necessary to write random php etc?

Thank you for the video.
Do we also see the 'Survey Code' as a field in the CSV file that we get for the results?
yes
please all the texts, links etc. in the description box so one does not have to type it in by hand... but your video is great and helped me a lot.
Do you know the links to creat the survey?
reporting.qualtrics.com/projects/randomNumGen.php
${e://Field/random}

You have to input everything precisely as in the video or it will not show up correctly or at all.

@@TheDownloadBoy that is correct. The preview function is to show you what things would like if the survey was “live”.
Thank you for the video :)
My pleasure
Dear Manis , is there a video on how to configure the survey in Mturk itself rather than relying on Qualtrics
I am not sure - because I receive Qualtrics free with University account, I do not set up within MTurk platform
Is there a way to change how much the participant receives as payment depending on how they answer a survey in Qualtrics?
I don’t believe that’s an option
Thank you for the video! I followed your steps very carefully, but I still can't find where I can get the survey code. Could you please explain a little bit more? Thank you!
If you do a test by taking the survey yourself, you will see the code when you download your data. If you follow exactly as I show in the video.
${e://Field/random}
Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
What does the min 1000 and max 9999 do?
generates a random number between 1000 and 9999 as a code to be given to the participant upon completion of the survey
I have 8 conditions. How can I ensure minimum 50 participants per condition? I will be using qualtrics for mturk. please reply, it's urgent.
Dipanwita Bhattacharjee I do not have a video for this as it is more advanced.
