Hope you guys enjoy the vid! 😄 I’d love to know where you guys create your artwork? From bedroom corners to outside......where’s your favourite spot to create? 😍
I am in the process of making my spare room into a studio but I tend to paint in my living room on my recliner arm chair - it’s super comfy! I’ve got a table beside me at the right height with water pots and of course a lovely hot chocolate.
I create on a table in my bedroom ... occasionally used as a dining table when I have friends over. It is a bit messy room and I need to buy some of those chests of drawers you have :) P.S. I love you baby bump 💕
My husband helped me turn a guest bedroom into a painting/photography/crafting studio. I feel blessed to have this room where I can create. You look so cute with your baby bump! I recently found you on RUclips and you are so adorable and so very talented. I truly enjoy your work.
Hi Katie, I just discovered you today on RUclips. I can't stop watching all these videos. I'm 48 years old and wish I could retire just to paint. Instead, I think I will start now to get my collection going and then try to sell. Don't worry I'll allow myself years to get there. Just the way you have Charmaine Olivia's print on your wall to pay homage to her... I promise one day I will have a print of yours on mine. I'm Nancy Martini from Canada and it is so nice to meet you.
Beautiful studio, way more organized than mine lol! You’re glowing and I’m so excited for you to become a mom, you’re going to love it💓 thanks for sharing your lovely creative space with us all🎨✨
Aww thank you so much 😊 it’s not always this tidy 🤣 I’m sure it won’t take long to get messy again! Thank you that’s so lovely. I can’t wait to become a mum 🥰 it’s something I’ve dreamed about since being a teenage!
@@KatieJobling congratulations on your precious journey. Glad to join you. And you will be the Best mom to your lovely baby, babies no doubt about that
@@KatieJobling Would you mind sharing which light bulb you got exactly? I've been looking for one and can't find any good recommendations for artists. Also, thank you for your great content! Your tutorials made me start painting again!
I'm really inspired by your art space! I'm looking forward to putting one together similar to yours when I have a little bit more room :) At the moment I create my art in the bedroom corner haha! Love these humble beginnings 😍
i just love ur videos! even though u probably have had to cut down or stop any painting since ur pregnant, you still continue to make vids & organize, keeping busy in ur studio & i think that’s absolutely great!! good luck on the rst of ur pregnancy & great, good positive thoughts on the birth of ur child! 😊👏🎶❤️❤️❤️
Definitely recommend doing as much art as you can before it gets too uncomfortable to sit or stand. You don't know how much you'll miss painting/drawing until you haven't done it in half a year, but just remember all is temporary. My baby was 9 months old when I was finally able to get art done again xD; but that's just my situation.
Loved the tour- I’ve created a corner in my living room for my easel / trolley. Trying to make time to paint every second day if I can in between working at home
This was very inspirational 💙💚💙💚 my art studio is currently on the floor so I had to laugh when you said that😁😂 Im working towards a beautiful studio like yours💚💙
Your new friend here to congratulate you sister and you are so beautiful.Lovely dress . Thanks for the motivation. Thank you for sharing 🙏 God bless you so much .I love You
Katie for the squeeky drawers you can sand them down slightly (wear a mask) or rub candle wax on the drawers where it rubs against the inside of the cabinet that might help. Or on the tracks the drawer runs on.
Ha, I started painting in my bedroom on the floor for a while, then got myself a desk ( my husband did ) haha. He also made me an easel wish works fine. I would love to have a very cool studio like yours, maybe one day hey . Ikea I'd great to buy stuff, I know it from Portugal. ..sadly not here in sa.
I need a Katie Jobling painting when I get my studio since you are my inspiration and what has helped me really get into art. I actually have something I want to send to you as a little thank you. Please let me know how/if I am able to do that. Thank you for all you do katie! You are amazing, never forget that.
Hi Katie! I have to share that this video, which I enjoyed very much, cracked me up to no end. I hope that you eventually open your bottle of linseed oil and that every time you film on the floor you find you did in fact press "Record." LOL! Thank you for the laughs, the inspiration, and for allowing me to nose through your drawers with you. I hope IKEA wakes up and sponsors your videos one day. Sending love & hugs!
Randomly came across your video and enjoyed seeing your space! In case anyone hasn’t mentioned it, you can soap wooden drawers with bar soaps (might need to be specific kinds) and that might help w the sound! Hope you are well!
I have converted a spare bedroom into a studio and I love having my own little space to paint and draw.. it's made a huge difference and my kitchen table is paint free! Congratulations on your pregnancy 💖🙏
Thanks for the tour. And congrats on the baby! To make your squeaky wooden drawers not so squeaky, rub a candle against all the edges of the drawers, and I think you'll find they will glide nicely, and not be so awful to your ears. You can also try a bar of soap, but I suspect the candle wax will last longer and do a better job. Thanks for all your lovely videos. P.S. I LOVE the view out your studio window! MOO! 🐂🐃🐄
Katie I loved the tour! It gave me a few ideas for getting my own studio "organized". 🙄 Perhaps taking an old tapered candle that's become to short to be pretty could be useful when rubbed on the wooden cubby drawers to soften the dry grating sound. Its worth a try. I've also used them on dresser drawers. Its worked! CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! I have 6 grandchildren. There's nothing like the joy that children bring into your lives. The world takes on a different perspective. Blessings to your little family. 💜
Hi, God Bless. I am Roshaan. I'm From Pakistan. Landed Upon Your Art Haven, Only Yesterday. Feels Like I Have Found The Channel..... SO CALMING, INSPIRATIONAL & INFORMATIVE... Plus You're So Cute, Sis... I could feel every word when you were explaining those tiny shelvings of wood, that it goes through you to open them. Same is the misery with me... Just can't take it.... Prayers for your Baby-To-Come.. :)
You are so natural on camera and I love your studio- thank you for showing us around.. I’m off to tidy my art room now.. after I’ve been to IKEA of course! 😊💜😘
"a BIG caculator, which, I think is pretty awesome" are amoung so much cute little comments you make! ahh your personality is so nice, thanks for cheering up my day :)
Enjoyed your studio tour and your positive attitude. I paint at the dining room table as there's no space for an easel :/ You can sand down the sides of the cute wooden boxes to get rid of the disturbing squeaky noise :)
Wish I’d watched this video sooner, but I’m glad your sketches sold well. I love the packaging for your note cards. All I use are cellophane bags. Would love to know your source. As for my sketching locales, with my child around, it’s easiest to keep an eye on him and sketch either from the kitchen table, a corner of the sofa, or at my art station beside the dining table. The happiest moment was watching my child pick up the joy of drawing as well. He has pages and pages of Pete the Cat, Peppa Pig, and dinosaur drawings in his own collection of sketch books. He’s only six years old.💙🎨 Thank you for sharing your work. It was a pleasant trip down memory lane.😊
Oh my gosh Katie!!! You are absolutely beautiful! So exciting to see you're expecting. Explains all the building lately! Youre going to be an awesome Mum! :)
Drill a hole in the top of the linseed oil cap. Just a little hole so you can pour some out. I've had to do that a lot. You might be able to poke a hole in it with a nail and hammer
Hey Katie, thanks for the tour I aspire to have a dedicated studio and will get it one day lol. Truely think your last couple of vids are nesting and am loving being involved. IKEA need to wake up and do the colab and I'm definitely like you a stationary collector big love from the Cotswolds
Lovely Studio! I've heard that rubbing a little wax (say from one of those candles) onto wooden draws that squeek like that helps, could be worth a go?
Wow Katie that's so cool, you are very organised, I would love to see all your sketches and little paintings...stuff from ikea us cool, we don't gave IKEA HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA SADLY. The vue out your windows is so peaceful with the horses. ..I am jealous, haha.
I'm guessing you probably hear this a lot, but I'm a new subscriber, hah. You remind me SO much of Luna Lovegood, it's unbelievable! Makes me love your videos even more 💜
Over I have so many art books! Just got a book at my library, they sell old books, used, cheap,I got a book on Tarkay for $4.00 A great find! Iv gotten plates at thrift store and dollar store for palettes!
I usually just use the spray varnish. I wait at least 48 hours after an acrylic painting to dry. And months for an oil painting to fully dry. Then give them three light coats of varnish in well ventilated area. With long enough to dry in between each coat. It’s not very often I varnish my paintings. With high quality paint, colours should last at least 100 years anyway. So it’s more for the look of the painting or if a customer requests it. Hope this helps 😀 xx
Just been cleaning and organising my little conservatory...set it up as a working space ages ago but never used it...now I need to start. Really love that picture on your studio wall...was there a tutorial for it?
We are sending you loads n loads of love n blessings!! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 I always enjoy your studio tours!! Beautifully organized.
