If you can, I would be particular interested in see photos and film clips of the forward and aft open deck spaces. Compared to the QM2 there seems to be quite limited open-deck access.
You said "249th ship" for Cunard! Amazing! How is it possible? Did the fleet used to be much bigger? Or did ships in previous decades/centuries have much shorter service lives?
Hello 👋 Cunard’s first ship was Unicorn all the way back in 1840 so they’ve had 184 years of ships and they had a large fleet for many of those decades. As recently as the 1990s the Cunard fleet consisted of QE2, Sagafjord, Vistafjord, Royal Viking Sun, Cunard Countess, Cunard Princess, Cunard Crown Monarch, Cunard Crown Dynasty, Cunard Crown Jewel, Sea Goddess I and Sea Goddess II, and that was a small fleet compared to the glory days of transatlantic liners ☺️
Any predictions on what Cunard may plan for their 250th ship? With QM2 entering her second half of service life, I can admit that the oceanliner fan in me would dream of another oceanliner designed ship. Without the drive of a Micky Arison at the helm, could we ever see another oceanliner enter service? Guess time will tell but would be curious what you invision as the 250th. Cheers!
The TransAtlantic service is so integral to Cunard, I just can't imagine the Cunard Line without it.... and you really do need an Ocean Liner to do this scheduled service. It's very demanding and I don't think a regular cruise ship would cope with the Atlantic, week after week. So I have high hopes that QM2 won't be the last of her kind. Let's hope so anyway! David
Who is excited?!
Unexpected timing, but absolutely exciting. It's been a long time coming. Congratulations Cunard!! What awesome news to wake up to! :D
Thanks for the update 😊. Looking forward to our trip in August .
Exciting news, Chris. I hope I get to sail on her one day.
👏Thank you for the update, Chris.

She looks amazing. Lucky u to be sailing on her maiden voyage.

Another ocean liner is what I'd like to see, too. Queen Eleanor?
I'm on board 11 of August
I'm doing Norwegian Fjords on 1st September, will you be on board then?
When are we likely to know who will name her on 3rd June? I'm hoping it will be Princess Anne!
Would have been nice if you had real photos and not artist renderings
I’ll be aboard next week so can share photos then ☺️
