A drone program with several UAVs assigned to pre-defined sections of the beach should be MANDATORY for Hawaii and other shark hotspots like Florida and Australia. Spotting the toothy beasts BEFORE they strike will make swimming and surfing demonstrably safer worldwide. Beachgoers can be informed that they must head for the sand calmly but speedily any time a drone descends near them. Taking the idea a step further, loudspeaker announcements could be made to swimmers and surfers using camera drones equipped with readily available loudspeaker fixtures. Drones could also drop loud but non-lethal bomblets to frighten or distract sharks whose behavior suggests an intent to predate on a human being.
I like this idea but it is not realistic.. the cost for the drone operator along with how many operators you need to cover a beach. There’s also human error where the operator could be tired or not looking at their screen which can cause a shark to swim past their vision. Not to mention health insurance, 401k, etc.. I don’t think most beaches have life guards as well. Imagine trying to get a drone up there when they can’t even get a lifeguard to come in on some days.

Unless it’s a surprise attack All you have to do is swim faster than your buddy . Same rule with bears just make sure you run faster than the slowest member of the group

Mother Earth coming back with a vengeance to claim at least 1 piece of land stolen from her. We can at least leave her at peace with her shark babies. Fun fact: when a human is devoured by a shark, typically a hunt is set forth and ALL sharks in the surrounding area of the attack are “humanely euthanized” until the remains are found. Shame.

One way or the other, the ocean is not our swimming pool, it is Mother Nature’s biggest feeding frenzy. Literally everything eats something else.
