It is a black stone that is mined in Utah. It looks very similar to black onyx when polished. Thanks for the comment 😀

How do you get the water out of the unit when done? I have read horror stories of people spilling water everwhere with these? do you like the unit or do you wish you had gone with another brand? I am looking for a trim saw to add to our equipment lineup and see lots of top 10 sites and others praising these from DP but don't see many actual reviews that are quite as positive. Would love to pick your brain about this if you have the time.

Hello Nicolas, To get the water out you can pick up the saw and dump it into a bucket. The unit isn't that heavy, and it has a built-in cut-away spout to direct the water. The other way is to get a big sponge and soak up the water. Another way, if you want to be clever, is to get a fish tank cleaning kit that will suction the water out. I have made those in the past.
I am personally thrilled with this machine. I have used so many that were hard to clean out; I had to have tools to bet the blades off and would rust the bearings on the arbor as well as the machine itself. This one is easy to clean and remove and change blades. I decided not to get the vise on mine, but you may find it handy for slabbing small stones.
Here is my affiliate link to the one that I have (minus the vise) amzn.to/3quAC8u
If you use this link it will help me grow the channel by receiving a small percentage of the sale at no cost to you.
Otherwise, you can find them in other places for sale. Either way, I am very happy with mine.
Thanks for the comment. I look forward to hearing what you think if you get one.
      All the best, Michael

@@GotchaRocksJewelryDIY Thank you for the quick reply. I am a bit conserned about needing to tip the saw to clean it out. I am very capable but my wife is not, so I'm afraid that she will not want to use this when im not here to help empty it. Thanks for the info and link.
