We've had people asking us this question for 4 years now and we are finally getting around to doing a video on it. Garmin, Humminbird or Lowrance...What brand are you going with IF you could only have one unit? Obviously you would have all 3 if ya could but if you could only have one what would it be? My Garmin 2d is better than any lowrance I have owned. Base maps are far better as well.
Run full Garmin setup including TM for the last 6yrs. Have had two on the water issues, both on Sundays. Called Garmin. Got an English speaking customer service rep both times. Both issues were solved on the water in less than 30 minutes. Great products, great customer service. Garmin

I have had all 3 and no problems with any of them, but Garmin is the best value for the money by far. Garmin is my pick for sure.

I agree with Lowrance's customer service. The wait is horrible, but i was one the lucky ones. I returned a refurbished 9 live and explained to them what was going on, and I consider myself a guru on lowrance products. They gave me an RA#. I shipped with insurance at my cost, and 2 weeks later, a 12 live was on the front porch.
I fished with Lowrance for 20 years. This year I switched to Garmin and really love them. Kind of a learning curve but I think they will do well. I am not a fan of FFS but the rest of the options are great !
I’m a 56 yr old new to the sport and I looked at all three. Trying to learn this graph world, Garmin’s is the easiest to learn , hummingbird is the nicest mapping. Lowrance is by far the hardest to understand how it works

Agree with you on Garmin leading the way. It’s nice they have more affordable models with great features as well. Not all electronics companies have that option.
After being an extremely loyal Lowrance user for well over 30 years, I’m now running both Garmin and Lowrance. Very cool that Bassboat Saver is doing this for you guys. Great content as always.

I'd like to try Bass Boat Saver. Humminbird guy myself (mapping and MegaSI/Mega360), but Garmins FFS is pretty impressive.
Bass Boat Saver, RETRO & I have been happy with Humminbird customer service. Vexilar is great too. Two birds on board and a Vexilar on the console with Alumaducer can't be beat.

I have Garmin and HB 12" units. HB at the helm for mapping and SI. HB at the bow for mapping, SI, and DI and Garmin for LS. Garmin Force trolling motor and I can say without a doubt Garmin customer service is the BEST. I've been using BBS for years and love the stuff.
That Bass Boat Saver would an asset for my retro 1994 Champion 189! Yeah old but in super shape due to our short fishing season weather up here in the great white north😉

Garmin for live imaging.
Humminbird for chip based maps and side imaging.
Lowrance for auto-chart mapping and 2D/Downscan
Humminbird/minn kota has given me awesome support, I've only been with them for 5 years though.
If humminbird could get ahead on their live, I believe humminbird and garmin would push lowrance to the wayside.
I've owned all three. Garmin is the best all around. Lowrance is really good too. I'm running HDS Pros and Active target 2. The image is cleaner on Lowrance. Garmin has the better color palettes. Hummingbird has the best side imaging by a hair. For the money buy Garmin.

I have recently got a new boat and went with Lowrance and Garmin. Prior I have used Garmin exclusively for the last 10 years. I have had more problems with the 2 Lowrance pro units in the month than I have had with Garmin my entire time. The lcd screen will burn your hands on a hot day!! Connectivity issues with ghost and radio. The 2d and side imaging is good.
Love the show, yall put out such great info. Speed, money, no brakes, and can't wait to try some bass boat saver some time.

Between 2 solix I’ve sent them back a total of 5 times. Bought garmin at same time and haven’t had a problem. Also humminbird maps are awesome but I have to use my garmin on small lakes due to them not having the lake
i have become a garmin guy years ago and love the active captain app ... i do more scouting on my couch so i can spend more time on the water 😊
That would be me I ordered all that merchandise because it's comfortable and I'm a black and green guy. And when your out somebody says speed, money, and no brakes when your out it's awesome.
Im a Lowrance guy through and through. Just finished upgrading all the graphs on my boat last week. I replacing the 3 HDS-9 live units on my Phoenix 920 elite with 2 HDS Pro 10 at the console and one HDS Pro 12 at the bow. Nearly 9k in graphs should speak to how much I enjoy Lowrance units. Im hoping these pro units will be worth the price for me. Ive been excited to get out on the water and tinker with the units more and tomorrow will be the day.
Bass boat saver would be super helpful with my 99 Ranger R97, currently running the full Garmin setup, Force, 2x106sv and a 93uhd, networking is by far the easiest, but one feature I miss on the birds is the follow the contour.
I run a Humminbird myself but only because it came with the boat I have! I have been looking into Garmin alot lately and I am really thinking about buying! 🤷♂️😏

In the last 6 years, I have had 4 different boats. Each one of them, came with Humminbird units. I add 3 Garmins to them always. 2 at the bow and one at the console. At the console, I have one for mapping and the other for SI or down imaging. At the bow, the Garmin units are for panoptix livescope and the other for SI, DI, 2D.
Two things: #1 I love the Garmin units #2 G t me that blue old school shirt into production now! Got to have both those things under the tree this year!

I like the Garmin for ease of use, and the simple fact. All you need is in one package, the only package. Touch screen SI/DI & 2D. Quick draw and network able etc. With humminbird have multiple models to sort through to get the one you need.
And Garmin are still competitive in pricing.
I have a Helix 9 & 10 Ultera with I Pilot link. Plus 2 106 and a sv93, with the livescope.
They all have there place.

We ran Garmin and Lowerance on our Ranger, but going to be getting into a new Phoenix. The bird will have Garmins Bow/Console and Humminbirds Bow/Console. Mapping, Side scan, and Scope!
My retro 1994 Ranger 482vs Bass Master Classic needs some Bass Boat Saver love.
I run Humminbird/Minn Kota because I was once one of their pro-staff and know the product. Four screens, 360, Live etc. I have considered adding one Garmin for Panoptix only but starting to get better with Live as I learn more. Bass Boat Saver!!
Still use my 2016 Garmin echomap 94sv. Never had a minutes trouble with it. Switched to Garmin after my last two Birds died after just a year.

I run 3 Garmins, two 93SV one at dash and one up front networked, and a 106SV in an Arclab shuttle with the live scope. I have had Lowrance and hummingbird and I like the mapping on Garmin best. No extra map chip needed. Setting all different colors for contours and having the management of my waypoints through the Garmin active captain app on my phone and iPad. When I upgrade my trolling motor it will be the Garmin Kraken.
I understand running all 3. If I could only use one it would Humminbird because of the mapping. I'd chose maps over sonar any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I have Garmin stuff and love it. HBird is really strong in DI/SI also but the live is really not very good.

My Lowrance would turn itself on without me knowing til i was ready to go fishing and the battery would be dead. I called them and they were great!! Sent it back, and they sent me a new unit. I have double everything now. (accessories)👍🏻
My uncle has a Lowrance on his Lake Michigan boat. Completely separate power connection to the battery. The marine radio also has a completely separate connection to the battery and they are mounted on opposite sides of the boat from each other. You have to turn off the Lowrance before you key the mic or it blows the fuse for the Lowrance. If you wrap the Lowrance in tinfoil with it on, you can key the mic all day and it does not blow the fuse. Called Lowrance as it obviously has an EMI issue and they said it is not their problem and that it is a problem with the radio. When I told them about the tinfoil shielding it, they told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. When I told them I was an electrical engineer, they ended the conversation! Will never put one of those on my boat.

Garmin for livescope , humminbird for everything else
Have Lowrance and I’ve been lucky I guess (knock on wood). Couple years back had a TI2 act up, sent it in and got a quick replacement for no charge. However I talked to a guy in California and guess those days are over. I bought due to cost and just brand recognition since even though I was 62 at the time, I was new to bass fishing. I really didn’t know anything about any of the other brands or Lowrance other than name.
I use Lowrance and only use it for mapping and sonar. Seldom use side image and down image.
