37 years ago this december I was brought to my knees by the news of his death. Now Rufus wrainright`s version is used in the Netherlands in a commercial for Samsung 8 (it sucks). So this made me look up this song from my childhood and found this magnificent tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of our time. This brought me to tears again, realizing he has been gone almost as long as he lived. Chapeau Andrew, you really captured John`s intonations in his voice like I have never heard before. Hope to hear more from you!! (PS. Ofcourse I subscribed)

I'm 65 yrs old & I love the Beatles. One thing I will say is I agree with your sentiment on the Samsung add but it did remind me of this fab song & now I've added it to my collection of favorite songs & has brought it back to life in my life.
"Jai" means "O Hail" or "Victory to" "Guru" means "Teacher" "Deva" means "God/Lord/Demi-God" "om" some say is the source of all existence that comes from vibration. Note Guru Dev was a Maharishi's teacher.

Outstanding, Andrew this song inspired me so much I wrote a poem of tribute by the same name. It won my first international award on another continent, 2014. This was a BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE!!!!! On another note.... I watched the movie "YESTERDAY" on 123movies and near the end (spoiler alert!!) It showed (him) visiting someone way out in the English(I guess)countryside. I was blown away by who it was.
