  • Day 11 - Making Disciples
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. -Matthew 28:18-20
In the Great Commission we are first commanded to “GO.” That is a great start, but the Great Commission is more than just getting someone to pray a salvation prayer. It involves a commitment to “make disciples”. Discipleship involves follow-through, mentoring, walking alongside and sticking with a new believer as they grow in that new relationship with God and His Word.
Someone who has been born again has responded to the love of Jesus by repenting of sin. They have turned away from sin and are resolved to follow Jesus. We have been commissioned by Jesus to teach those who have believed in Him to obey everything He said.
Reflection: Remember your growth journey in your own relationship with Jesus. Was there a particular person in your church family who helped you? A friend or a parent? What do you personally need to do to make more disciples of our Lord?
Ultimately Jesus calls his disciples to make disciples. It is through this factor of multiplication that Christianity has grown and spread into every nation of the world. -Dr. Craig Kraft
