As I was watching this video you made me cry. Last November we toured this palace with our Korean friends. The area is so beautiful 😍. My daughter and I usually visit every year but unfortunately we can't make it this year. I'm grieving and missing Korea. Fall and winter are our favorite times of year. I wish you could post 2 videos a week but I understand it a process to post just one. Thank you for taking us around Korea and sharing locations. Oh and when we were there last November, I went to Wheat and Meat after watching your video. Great sandwiches! Keep these awesome videos coming. Thank you 🙏
I love how Seoul is a mix of old and new architecture. I love how the palaces have been preserved (and rebuilt when burned down). In Canada too many historic buildings have been destroyed - we don't have the same respect for history here. Some tourists complain that Seoul is expensive, but when you can visit a palace (often with performances) for 3000W or free with hanbok that is a steal. In Toronto it costs $45 to visit the CN tower or our castle! Many attractions here cost over $25. The Korean government subsidizes a lot of tourist attractions and also offers a lot of free light shows and festivals. Plus dining out is affordable there. Please give us updates on the neighbourhood kitties.
Dining out has gotten a lot more expensive in Seoul over the last few years though 😬 But at least there’s no tipping culture 😅 Neighborhood kitties are doing good! We’re in the process of fattening them up for the winter months 🐈
@@2hearts1seoul Dining out is more expensive everywhere since the pandemic. In addition to no tipping you just get far more value in Korea with banchan. As you know here in Canada you often order courses. Do the prices include tax in Korea? I notice you tend to go to larger restaurants, but sometimes I watch videos of small neighbourhood adjuma restaurants that tend to cost less. Have you considered exploring some of those?
The prices do include tax. The restaurant we went to in this video is a small family-owned restaurant :) We still notice large price hikes at these smaller restaurants (and cafes) as well, since the cost of groceries (and rent for those who don’t own the units) here has gone up so much.

I write and illustrate my travels, and one book was about traveling in France, and one book was about experiencing nine great gardens in the world. In 2023 I went to Korea for six weeks but I haven't written about that trip. But it was a perfect Korea trip. Are there many books in Korean about foreign travelers in Korea? I live in Windsor, Ontario, a town built for cars, while the city has mostly modern homes and buildings, it’s 10 years behind time and it’s one of the last cities to get any new shops/cafes and restaurants and a lot of places will close after a year, more (than)or less. The number #1 place that everyone recommends to visit is the Windsor Riverfront which gives you a view of Detroit and Detroit River, and other places people recommend to visit aren’t even usually located in Windsor (Essex, Kingsville, Leamington or even Detroit).
