@@kylekeller3398 if Disney still has the animatronic for the Crocodile (assuming they haven't destroyed it) they need to bring it out for the show because a projection of the Crocodile is pretty lazy in my opinion

20:20 Watching a drag queen on stilts is what people have been waiting an entire year for in this updated version of Fantasmic, which is the B-Mode that occurs whenever Murphy (the dragon) wasn't working. Since 1992, I've witnessed the changes, and I must say, it's thanks to people like you who still go and endure the crowds that I don't have to waste money on a downgraded experience. Disney had a whole year to improve, but they kept it in B-Mode. It's disappointing that they couldn't invest in a new dragon, especially considering how much money we spend on sodas alone. It's a slap in the face, but not surprising since Disney doesn't prioritize creativity anymore. They're more like financial engineers than "Imagineers." If they can't even fund a prop for a historic show, it's clear they don't care anymore and it took the dragon burning down for them to finally fix all the fountain nozzles, lol. Disney doesn't prioritize creativity anymore. ALL the money they get, they give it to their exes and cut departments like Disney Imaginary that Universal is beating them in theme park industry. Hell, there new drone show Disney Springs was pathetic compared to what the Angeles (Anaheim baseball team) did for May the 4th Be With You.
This show is very expensive and Disney needs to keep their costs as low as possible. They are pinching every penny they can to show Wall Street their parks profit/loss numbers are good. The more they spend on attraction opperation, the less profit (and financial health) they can show to their worried investors.
@@itsamekevin @itsamekevin - Disney has let go of so many of their most tallented creatives because they were too old or not diverse enough. This is true with imagineers, artists and the studios. DEI approved creatives are what Disney wants today.
@@CLIFFLIX what you are describing is what everyone is noticing, yourself probably included. Premium prices for less than premium experiences. Everything feels penny pinched when profits are still high. Disney had a gross profit of 8.72% last year from the year prior. They’re making at least a billion more than the year prior. They have the funds to do better.
These seem to be just minor show show changes with big removals. I know the floating carpet effect was often problematic and we know about "Murphy". Maybe removing them was an additional cost saving measure? The Peter Pan scene was developed years ago so that was not to tough to insert. Question: Why did it take so long to bring this show back? This show just has some elements removed and a well-known Peter Pan scene put back in. It didn't even require a new orchestra recording or any real studio or sound work. I would guess this show has a lower nightly maintenance cost over the last one? I dunno,...this feels like a "Fantasmic Light" or maybe "Diet Fantasmic"???
I have a feeling that the true answer is “The fire did a lot more damage to the technical show elements than we were led to believe and most of the time/financial budgets were spent repairing electronics, wiring, and physical set pieces damaged by the fire rather than actually developing a new show. You should be happy we got the show up and running at all and be quiet while we slowly update the actual show a little bit at a time to bring the elements that we didn’t have time or budget to repair or develop earlier into the show later.” But Disney will never actually say anything like that out loud.
The underwhelmed crowd reaction during the old dragon scene was telling. The silence was both deafeningly loud, and obvious folks were holding their breathe for "what could be". Happy to have Fantasmic back, but after 1 year, sadly modern Disney dropped the ball again & underwhelmed.
What? You expected Murphy to magically appear? Murphy is burned to a crisp...gone forever. Disney can't afford to replace something that expensive... they're broke and busted. This is not surprising or anything new that anyone with a functional brain hasn't known for years and years. Bob Iger is the only one to blame.
@thewalkingdad68 give it time, the complaints will come pouring in and Disney will have no choice but to build a new dragon for the show. And they ABSOLUTELY have the money to afford in building a new one, Disney execs however are the ones holding imagineering back
@@thewalkingdad68 Bwaaaaaaaaahahahaha Disney being broke. Except that isn't it at all. Maybe they aren't bringing Murphy back due to how inherently dangerous the tech was, and it will need to be completely reimagineered. We'll see, as Disneyland will never be finished - Walt said that himself.

I would guess that they are trying to keep nightly opperational costs and cast/crew costs as low as they possibly can. This show is very expensive and Disney needs to squeeze every penny they can for their profit/loss numbers.
They are still in the show!! The cast members who play those roles on the mark twain also double as pirates in the Peter Pan scene, unfortunately on this night the boat broke down and instead of operating on its own, it had to be pushed by a separate mechanism which made the boat a lot slower so those cast members weren’t able to change from pirates to their finale costumes and make it to the mark twain on time.
@@Isaac-bs7ym Thank you for the intel! Nice to know they are still in the show! Be nice if they could add some more fuzzies than face characters, that's a personal request. Honestly, this is an improvement over the other version just by removing Pirates alone, that scene really killed the flow of the show and was the main reason I hated 2.0. However I do agree with everyone about the dragon gone and the disappointment after a whole year of the show being gone. The year hiatus I understand completely because not only did they need to rework the show, but the whole area needed to be repaired, I'm sure there was more problems and damage outside of just Murphy. However Without the dragon, it feels like something is missing in the show. I do understand that safety does come first and Murphy is probably burnt to a crisp beyond repair. Maybe soon there will be a new dragon in it's place, but for now at least Fantasmic can continue to enchant the night.
I just watched the original, 2.0, and this new one in succession and I can say this is actually a great mixture of the 2 versions! I can actually appreciate this one for what it is and actually like it better now that I have compared them. The 2.0 version was way too busy and the music changed a little too much. This version brings back a bit of that original magic with updated technology. I think the lighting, water, and pyrotechnics are closer to the original and match the music a lot better than 2.0. I also love that percussion is more prominent again in the jungle book set because I was really bummed when 2.0 made it more electronic. I also do think Peter Pan fits better than PoC, even though I love the music & effects of it, because Fantasmic is all animation so PoC doesnt fit. Now that I've seen all the versions, I'm pretty happy with this one! And i just hope it continues to improve (add dragon and characters on Mark Twain).
Interesting choice putting Elena of Avalor on the Mark Twain, considering her show ended several years ago, and when it comes to television shows and theme parks, Disney doesn’t like to look back because it distracts from the present.
y’all need to understand that yes there are lack of animatronics in the show, but also remember the reason why there was a hiatus in the first place, and why we got to this point? obviously with safety being the top priority, the safety of the show and the audience is most important. and does that mean cutting some animatronics so there would not be a fire in the middle of the show (cause that happened before)? unfortunately it is what it is but it’s still the same show without it.
@ObvRod not really. The Pirates of the Caribbean sequence was incredibly choppy and lackluster. The music was on repeat instead of one continuous score like the music for the Peter Pan sequence.
