Having experienced 2 relationships I should tell you that many times, what we see has our type is not really what we would like in real life. It works perfectly in our mind but it is different if you truly imagine yourself living with that person, turning the perfect filter off. Many types, our "type" is just the type of people we either would like to have as friends or who we just have a crush is. But that when it comes to spend a whole life with, it doesn't work. So I would advise you to rather than having a "type" defined, have a "not my type" defined and leave all the rest open because who you may find might be different from what you envisioned, and if you only go for that type you can get in the known cycle that most women get to of always going for the same type of guys and so, always ending the same way

As someone who genuinely shares the same mindset on romantic relationships as Nina, we normally think it is a rare to find people who think like us...but it is WAY more common than I thought. I had my very first romantic relationship with 22 y.o. and some of the reasons were related to me not being pursued romantically all my life and my focus was always on my studies, even my mum said she never encouraged me to date because she preferred me being a financially stable adult first so that I could become more than a partner, I could become myself and not depend on another person. Now I'm 27, single and slightly worried about my biological clock, but now I get that it is better to be true and kind to myself and then I can become a really good parent...or not (I can't be a single parent in this economy). But everybody should know that it is better to be a functional adult first, don't worry about relationships that much, it is not a race.

I had my first serious relationship at 33 and the hardest thing about "waiting" that long (not that it was a choice) was social criticism. I was afraid there was something "wrong" with me. I was ashamed for being so "late to the game" because others around me shamed me and gave me unsolicited advice. It felt like I'm an alien somehow who is just not meant to play this game called love and relationship. Turns out it's bullshit. I've been together with my first and only boyfriend for 4 years now and I feel very happy and satisfied. I wish society would have just let me be.

As a 17-year-old college student, I find it hard to make friendships with guys especially when in community college you aren't really in close proximity anymore like in high school or are forced to be on campus since, well its community college and its close to home. Recently some of my friends have been getting into their first relationships and I'm starting to really get FOMO LMAOO.
