    🌟Comment below do you plan to upgrade to Premiere Elements 2022 to have Vertical and Square Aspect Ratios?

      Just watched your video today and this news is a Godsend!!! Thank you!!! The only thing is, at the end of the video you say that if we intend on upgrading an old version of PE to 2022 that we should watch the video for instructions. I must be having flashbacks because I didn't see or hear those instructions. Can you please post the instructions?

    I tried making shorts in my 2018 PE and couldn't figure out why they would never post like a short. I just found your channel and found I needed an upgrade. Poof now I made my first real short that posted properly! Thank you so much! Greg

    Thanks for the video. I noticed you quickly scrolled over your video and there were black bars on the top and bottom of your vertical video. How do you scale the video in order to remove those black bars so videos will be completely vertical as others are doing for RUclips Shorts? I've followed you steps and I still have the black bars on the top and bottom. Thanks again!

    I was hoping this would mention a way to export a landscape video as a 1080 square without the black bars. Do you know a method?

    • @TheIshExperience
      @TheIshExperience  2 года назад

      If you're in Premiere Elements 2022 go to Export and Share. Select eithier Computer/TV/Mobile and under resolution you should see a box 1080 x 1080 and select that. If you don't see that then press the arrow on the resolution line to reveal more options. If you're using an older version of PE you can watch this video and just follow the steps , but instead change the dimensions to 1080 x 1080. I hope that helps.

      @@TheIshExperience I am using PE22 but when I export to 1080x1080 using the methods you suggest, I get the black bars on top and bottom. I'm looking for a method that crops the left and right sides rather than adding the black bars on top and bottom. Thanks.

      @@featherboards1565 are your project setting 1080 x 1080? Go to Edit, Project Settings, and General. Look at the frame size.
      If it is not 1080 by 1080 you will get black bars when you try to export 1080 x 1080.
      To change it you'll have to export your video with the same settings listed under project settings. Then bring the video into a new 1080 x 1080 project refreame your video in the project and export it as 1080 x 1080.

      @@TheIshExperience I did was you suggested but the auto reframe was a mess since I have sliding text and lots of lateral motion. But, once I deleted the Auto Refram fx, it locked to the center as I hoped. Thanks for sticking with me!

    When I follow the steps you lay out above for creating a new 9:16 project (including ticking force added media to the project settings) and add a standard aspect ratio clip, when I click Render the clip resizes and becomes pinched in and can not be resized again. Even if I delete the clip from the timeline and drag it back down from assets onto the timeline, it is now resized and pinched. What is happening and how to I stop it?

    • @TheIshExperience
      @TheIshExperience  Год назад

      Does that happen with render or do you mean auto refocus?? It definitely should not happen with render if you are using 2022. How does the video come.out when you export it?

      Ish, thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to check in with me on this problem! Here is a short video of the problem I experienced.
      ruclips.net/video/MWRzjGU_QcQ/видео.html
      Ok, after 3 ridiculous days struggling with this issue, I have a solution via a very helpful Adobe rep (but not a solution intended for this particular problem, but rather for a host of problems that appear after a Windows update).
      Apparently Windows Updates (whether straight from Microsoft or via things like Dell System Support I do not know) will sometimes overwrite important files ... and in this case it overwrote Adobe preferences regarding Social Media which caused my problem. The fix was:
      1. Reboot computer and DO NOT start any Adobe software.
      2. Press Windows Key+R, type %AppData% and click Run. This takes you to: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming
      3. Browse to Adobe ->Premiere Elements
      4. Rename file 20.0 to 20.0.old
      5. Reboot Computer (I don't know if you have to reboot, but I aways do when messing with system files)
      6. Start Premiere Elements
      Everything worked as it should have after that. Major frustration in that:
      My internet searches with the following phrases came up with no one experiencing the same problem
      -"premiere elements" 2022 clips change scale after rendering
      -"premiere elements" 2022 social media clips change scale after rendering
      -"premiere elements" 2022 9:16 clips change scale rendering
      ... and a few others I can't remember
      There is no "before you spend days trying to solve a problem of any sort, do this first ..." post out there that is referenced for any problem you have around application weirdness.

      Wow sorry you had to go through all those steps. It's crazy that a windows update would throw it out of sync. Thanks for explaining what you did that way it might help someone else.

    Thanks for this very helpful video. I am trying to convert a 1920x1080 horizontal video file to use a RUclips Short video, thereby creating a 1080x1920 video from the raw 1920x1080 video. I've followed your suggestion to set the project settings to 1080x1920 on my Premier Elements 2023. But the raw video doesn't fill the editor screen - there are black borders on the top and bottom of the editor screen. Do I need to upsize the raw video to fill the screen, or is there something I am missing?

    • @TheIshExperience
      @TheIshExperience  6 месяцев назад +1

      It sounds like you're on the right track with adjusting the project settings. You might need to resize or reposition the video within the 1080x1920 frame to fill the screen without black borders. Go to edit, applied effects, and under motion adjust the scale so it is greater that 100%. Resize until it fills the entire window. This will cut off parts of the video, but you can move it to focus on your subject. Let me know if that helps.
