Yo, I’ve been a persona fan for a while now and I always wanted to get into the first one and I think I’ll try it out! By the way great work on this video i enjoyed the information and will be emulating 1 soon.

I was a huge persona fan that had never played a game until I bought the dancing ones hahaha I loved watching videos about the lore and story so I finally convinced myself to play it. If you are just getting into it, I do recommend the psp version. Some people complain about the music but honestly it doesn’t matter that much, I’ve heard both soundtracks and they both have highs and lows and represent different scenes better and worse. The thing is though, the quality of life improvements are much more important. And it has the complete game. If you do end up playing it, let me know what you think!
Like many I started with 5, but fell in love with the series, since have played 5R and 3R, all were great. Had wondered ever since if it was worth going back and playing the originals, but figured as you said it feels like it would be rough not having those quality of life imrpovements, nice to have that confirmed. Hopefully they remake all of the other games like they did with 3!
Seeing as how there are rumours of 1 and both 2’s getting a remake maybe it would be good to wait but the PSP versions are so drastically different from 3,4 and 5 that if you come at it with the mindset of it being its own game, not “persona” it might work for you. I still haven’t played anything past 2 so I can’t fully compare but I had so much fun with 1 and 2 annoyed me but I loved how insane the story was. If it wasn’t for the fan translation of 2 Eternal Punishment PSP I wouldn’t have finished it as I wasn’t having fun as I lost the QOL going from psp to ps1. Long story short, give persona 1 a try not thinking it’s persona and see if you like it 🤣
@@Lytane I'm definitely gonna give it a go, I want to give the alternate paths for Devil Survivor first as i've heard they're different. But i gotta see how the persona series began myself
Unpopular opinion: I’d rather play Persona 1-2 over Persona 4-5. Playing p1-2 can be a daunting task since it has lots and lots of grinding, something typical of old-school RPG, and an encounter rate absurdly high but it has a more straightforward approach instead of having to squander and with social events to meet an end. I honestly click more with the fever dream plot, setting of P1, and Its ’90s soundtrack (PSP ost sucks) oh and I love Naoya’s design btw. Honestly you should try it at your own risk, get the PSP version with the encounter mod to make it less annoying. I personally think P1 should be remade with… yeah I’m gonna say it: Metaphor’s gameplay.
