I love Damages TV series. I have the DVDs and each time I watch it, it gets better. It is so layered with intrigue and Glenn Close is consistently brilliant. Ted Danson also compelling. They both make the other actors seem wooden, but I think that is the point. The other characters can’t figure them out. It’s like a long drawn out game. Brilliant!
This is the part where I get to see Glenn Close in jeopardy without delaying the inevitable. 😈

I've seen this episode a couple of times. I never noticed, til watching here, ray fisk counting to five slowly by popping the joints of his fingers before speaking. that is either great writing or great ad- libbing by the actor.
She's superb in this, like she is in everything. The fact that she's had countless nominations, for Oscars imparticular, of which she's won none, from 8 nominations, settles my argument that winning awards is not the truest measure of merit in acting.

Patty is one scary bitch! I think that it would be a nightmare to work for someone like her. My favorite part of Season 1 was when Ellen, finally at her breaking point, looks at Patty with pure contempt and says, "I'm so SICK of your bullshit." She said exactly what I was thinking and I howled. Best.Scene.EVER!!!
