      @moataz Siraj, more than this guy's questioning God, I'm questioning his sanity and maturity. Must be having the time of his life to be able to come out of a hole for this discussion as the reason of his sad and pathetic existence is to try and push his believes on people (on random videos). On the plus side, the video is spot on and hopefully he has learnt a thing or two here. Regarding his theory, he will live to figure out what he calls "superstitions" when the time comes. I've seen many turn around :)

    You are awesome!!!!!!! You have taught me more in 4 videos than what my prof has tried to teach me in 6 classes. My prof is so dry and has no clue of how to teach. He just rants and mumbles AND is all over the place that it's hard to follow him. Thank you so much for putting up your videos and helping me out!!     This is such a useful video. I knew that the closer R^2 is to 1, the more accurate the forecast is, (Told by the instructor), but it was never explained clearly like the video.. Thank you!!!!!!!!

    I was always amazed by statistics and probability, but when I took the course at the University the book had many errors and the instructor wasn't eager to teach. I'm thinking to do myself a favor get this out of my system. Good video.

    Ok, Thanks very much for replying. I was able to find a way to do it manually. The equation for a non linear coefficient of determination is
    1-(SSE/Syy).

    Simple Linear Regression. The same principle is true though for multiple linear regression as well. It is the difference between the estimated values and the mean of dependent variable too.

    Very very clear explanation. It was a bit confusion for me since you do this without determining the regression line y=mx+b. But I've tested both way (with figure out y=mx+b first then calculate Rsquared=1-(SSE/SST) compared to yours) and give me same results. Great, your method is simpler and save some time...!!

IFRS 9 needs to measure Expected credit losses(ECL), as you understand - expected involves probability and regression. Thought of having an idea of basics. your lectures helped me a lot.     Once again great video, but I have a question...can you use this method to calculate the R square between any function and a set of data or does the function have to go through that average coordinate that you calculated from the data? I ask this because I made a polynomial function for a set of data, but when I calculate the R square its above 1. I think its because it doesn't cross the average coordinate, but I am not sure.
