It was there when you went to bed. Now, there’s just an empty driveway. Your vehicle has been stolen. What next?
First, make sure it’s really missing. If you’re at home, count your kids of driving age. But if you’re at a busy shopping centre, make sure you’re looking where you left it. Your key fob has a pretty good radius so listen for a distant chirp. Get some extra range by holding your fob under your chin - yup, it will extend the range, and it’s science, not magic.
The police are your first call. Have as much information ready for them as you can. Year, make, model, VIN, location and any camera footage you may have captured. If you have a monitored tracking system such as TAG installed, call them next. Call your insurance broker if it’s business hours, otherwise, call the 24-hour line printed on your pink slip or policy.
