Very slim waist, broad shoulders, good posture, agility and a defined chest, at 62! That's what a lifetime of natural workouts can do for you. Thank you Mr Reeves!
Yes that is the only way natural full body workouts , for health and for the longevity of your life that is beautiful bodybuilding and I am grateful to experience it.
When I was in 4th grade I saw a pic of him in my parents basement. I started working out that day. I burned it into my mind how I wanted to look and feel at certain stages of my life. I'm 50 now and look as I did when I was 20. God bless you Mr .Reeves.
Wow fair play to you, I'm 22 now, been working out for a couple of years, I look up to these natural athletes including Steve Reeves and even his predecessors, I usually train Upper body this day and lower body the next and I make sure to get plenty rest, if I feel I'm being overworked, I take a rest day, I'm Irish so I like to party too, I don't do much cardio, maybe 5 minutes on the rowing machine before working out to loosen up
@@LUKERs1196Your on the right track! Stay with it, and keep away from the pubs! Power walk 4 times a week for a month. Then hit the gym and train upper body for a month. Switch it up monthly like this for lower body and upper body. Trust me, this will give you incredible gains. Hit the stairs when doing walking too.
@@anproof7937 Slow and controlled reps only. Power walking and tons of stair training is the key for lower body. Thanks for the compliment by re-posting my video. Steve was the most humble, kind person you would ever want to talk to. I am happy he is not forgotten by his legions of fans. Larry.
Hi Larry, thank you for your kind comment and for all Steve Reeves videos. You can find many videos about him on my ,,marek546´´ channel. Regards from Czech republic, Marek
I both power - walk AND work out with weights, happy with the results. I agree that jogging can produce injuries, the walking is safer. God Bless Steve Reeves, may he rest in peace. John A. Lombardi

Fullbody workouts 2-3 times per week and walking on other days in fast tempo is perfect. The whole body is used every day.Steve Reeves was a true pioneer, had a incredible physique and in good shape all his life.
Steve promoted true health and fitness, not the insanity we see in the bodybuilding world today. I completely respect the time and dedication it takes to succeed in bodybuilding, no doubt they work hard. But I don't wanna rely on drugs to maintain my body, I don't wanna die early like Rich Piana, or be almost crippled like Ronnie Coleman. If at age 62 I look like Steve does here, I'll be happy
marek546 Well that's cool you give credit but your library regardless of where it came from is nice. Steve Reeves is the best...his bodybuilding books really work!

Because of Steve Reeves I power walk with Leslie Sansone five times a week. Her walks are free on her RUclips channel, Walk at Home Leslie Sansone. I lost an inch off my hips in two weeks. He’s right, power walking is fantastic.
Very interesting. He was super intelligent and gifted man with a talent to succeed. And his fitness was way ahead of the time. I think walking only just is beginning to get popular as an exercise, and I think Steve Reeds method is brilliant. Will try it. Also I did use walking to get in shape, and it took me about 3months indeed. But I was also cycling a lot, but it seemed like if I get best from walking.
It's clear that Steve Reeves has amazing genetics. His broad upper body and super slim waist is gifted at birth. I'm sure I read somewhere his waist was like 28". I'm currently single digit body fat and my waist it about 31". I couldn't imagine getting down to 28". It just wouldn't be possible.
I started doing that with 2.5 pounds weight. I breath in 4 times and breath out 4 times....with exact same long strides. Based on how you hold ur wts, your movement will vary but I feel good after that. Did not know it is called power walking but good to know i m on right track. Thanks Steve
I think focus should be on maintaining a correct posture and breathing once you get in a rythm. My lungs improved a lot, my paunch is going in. I look funny when I do but so far so good. Thanks for uploading and sharing.
Was Steve Reeves voice dubbed in the movies? His voice here (so soft) sounds nothing like what I heard in the movies. I assumed with the Italian strong-man budget movies that there would by lip syncing issues, but I thought it was still his real voice. Then again I was only 9-10 years old when I saw most his movies, so I just watched again "Thief of Bagdad," and the voice used in that movie is the one I remember well. It sounds nothing like the voice I hear here above even when you account for aging. I saw TV episodes of Rawhide with Clint Eastwood and he sounds today like he did 60 years ago, or enough for me to remember his voice as the same, or much of the same as I had heard on TV. I'm not disappointed with Steve Reeves here hearing him, I'm just surprised I didn't recognized his voice, or what I thought I knew of his voice. It may be old common movie trivia that Reeves' voice was dubbed in the movies and known by everyone except me I guess.
Hi, yes, his voice was dubbed in almost all his movies. Only in Athena movie was his real . Here , look on this videos with his real voice in tv shows - ruclips.net/video/IJgdOX_M6rY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/qY7EN5suJfI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/oXbL8JxUJlc/видео.html
He was dubbed in most of the pictures by a famous Italian voice actor named Cigoli - who worked on thousands of films. Why voice dubbing? All his famous films were made in Europe, with all the actors speaking different native tongues. They were ALL dubbed in for the final product. By the way, his first, somewhat forgotten film, also had his natural voice, called "Jail Bait." He played the part of a sort of detective for a case of a crook who used plastic surgery to evade identification. It's by no means great, but not as bad as it's made out to be. It's claimed to me the only sane movie directed by the infamous Ed Wood. Reeves also complimented him on allowing the actors some flexibility, rather than dictating to them. Finally, I agree that Cigoli had a marvelous voice.
Does anyone happen to know where the video of Reeves discussing his early rejection from studios came from - i.e. the part after the power walking interview, from 5.17?
Like all bodybuilders...when they stop training...all their work goes to nothing. You'd never guess this was Steve Reeves who played "Hercules" in the 50's. One of the best bodies ever. The man who motivated Arnold Schwarzenegger to be the other "best body ever"...
"Their work goes to nothing" Ok, then find me some other 62 year old men that look like that. Wait what was that? There aren't many. Steve Reeves was never that big anyway. Sure, he had big arms, massive lats, a small waist, but honestly apart from that there was nothing too special in modern terms; it was mostly lighting and angles. Also back on the subject at hand, Steve is 62, rich as fuck, famous and has a great personality. His body is better than 99% of other 62 year olds so if you hate on him you are an idiot.
Power walking is good exercise, even lifters should power walk up to 30 mins a day as low intensity steady state cardio. Easy to recover from so you can hit the weights. It’s actually one of the best forms of cardio.
Why do these "gurus" have to make everything complicated? Always trying to put a twist on something to make a buck, and at the same time causing health problems. Adding unnecessary weight is just going to stress the body, compress the joints, and possibly cause arterial tears
