I’m so excited and very pleased with the character choices! My friend plays toy merchant and they wanted miu so it’s nice for them and then I was looking forward to shuichi being novelist and it’s actually happening! I hope I can get him, but who knows. Been playing journalist and kaede being her seems like a really nice idea with her being the first protagonist and how close the characters are to one another. I promise it fits if you really think about it.

I honestly think everyone agreed that Kaede, Shuichi and Kokichi were going to be in it, but I'm really shocked Tsumugi didn't make it in as the mastermind for her game cause that was a trend within the first two events. Sad Maki didn't make it in but still excited for this event! I'm probably gonna get hate for this but I really don't like Miu she's not exactly a good person QOQ and I main toy merchant.
Tbh I didn’t want Kaede to be FD (hate me I know it’s an unpopular opinion) but think about it she is not related to dancing it may seem like a weak reason as FD is related to music and Kaede also is too but she is not related to dancing and dancing is the main thing about FD, heck even she has custom animations for each music box. All I’m saying is that im kind of glad she isn’t FD
Looking at this crossover, the essence skin choices are very bad. So I'll probably just buy the shop S-tier if it ends up being Kaede and otherwise I'll most likely try roll for the guaranteed A-tier in the SDRA2 essence that I missed last time as I was F2P back then. Or I might try roll for Monokuma, yet I have no essence progress and 350$ is a lot of money so we'll see.

Kaede gets S tier and im hella mad. Not only they took the skin from Dancer (I'm a Margie main, so thats why im double offended), but they also gave it to Journalist, who is out for ONE SEASON. This is just disrespectful tbh, mostly to all characters out there who have to wait for years for a new skin, but well, its not like NetEase didn't have their favorites. Also, they made Danganronpa an essence 3, which means we will get the least amount through the season (thats just how LP works). And also, no shop skins, which in this case i would honestly prefer. From the looks of it, it kind of seems like with this DRv3 crossover they were mostly going for 1st Chapter importance, but anyway I'm really excited Rantaro's getting a skin which is going to be FREE!! AHHH!! With that said everyone seems to be confused and upset by his casting with Prisoner and not Kurt and I was too until I actually read into their lore a bit more. Especially Kurt's, reading into his he DOES NOT fit Rantaro anymore. When you look between them, though very different you can start to see some similarities between Rantaro and Luca. Going off of Rantaro's fabricated past this is btw. - Both Rantaro and Luca are said to come from nobility and wealthy families. - Both lost something important to them, Luca being his manuscripts and invention while Rantaro somehow lost all twelve of his sisters. - Both of them have memory loss - And both of them could be considered as too trusting. Even though Rantaro was more on the suspicious and untrustworthy of others side, but eh. That's mostly what I found through my quick scans of their lore but based on that I can see them working. Another reason they might've picked Prisoner is simply because he's more of a popular character than Kurt and both of them seemed to lose nobility, Luca after his incident and accused murder and Rantaro after basically people telling him to give up looking for his sisters Reading Kurt's lore; He's not actually an adventurer. He lied about his expeditions, taking them from stories he read. He was just a gambling, broke, drunk who got kicked into the military after his family was disappointed in him. And then lied to everyone, and so he was called delusional. He only wanted to start after being let out of the asylum but not actually having any money to explore, so he went to Orpheus manor. Anyway, that's what I found out!
Reading into Margie's lore and it's abundantly clear she's a VERY poor choice for Kaede. Kaede, the Kaede we actually play as not her pregame self, is kind and sweet while Margie is vain and honestly not really a nice person... she only really cares about money and running away. Being less into music and more into dancing. Kaede's not a dancer she's a pianist. Which Alice/Journalist is. Journalist also isn't strictly a photographer. Yes, she used photography but she uses it to investigate or be a journalist. Kaede also uses pictures to search for the mastermind. The both of them are also strong female protagonists. Despite the fact Kaede died in the first chapter but she was still a big influence on the cast. I feel like everyone just agrees Kokichi and Shuichi's roles are fine, Miu with Toy Merchant is the only one that feels like a weird pairing. Since they're the only two I just... don't see fitting. But at the end of the day a skins a skin and what matters most is; how they look, what the gameplay's like and how much money they'll make.
