We thought he must be injured to be taken off but that's because we were watching where the ball went, not what Dia himself was doing. By the way that fan song "he's a liar" is from Gateshead fans, he joined them afterwards.
I’m a saints fan and I’ve heard this too. The story of Ali Dia being *that* bad has definitely grown horns - because you don’t play 8 games and score a couple of goals in the 6th tier of English football without being at least competent amateur level

We might never have ended up with Mike Ashley as owner had we appointed someone more capable of replacing Bobby Robson... or better still, kept Robson another season or two.
Not and Newcastle fan, but I agree… Souness was even worse than Allardayce for Newcastle… Boumsong (average defender at best) was shocking transfer (Souness definitely get some pounds for that transfer)… and now he is criticizing Arsene Wenger that he was just lucky😂
You earned yourself a sub. This was an amazing telling of a story i was familiar with, sprinkled with bits of knowledge i was not familiar with! I was thinking about this the other day, so stumbling upon your video was great!
I don’t know, maybe he wasn’t as bad as people say he was. He was able to play 5th tier football in France and in the video at 5:40 why did the coach say that about him? And yet after seeing him in training they still decided to give him playing time in a Premier League match. 🤔
5th tier of France football is like England 7th tier / Germany 4th tier 😂 . My Neighbour from Asia Jungle Score 2 Goals + 3 Assist in 2 match during trial vs French 3rd & 4th tier team .
I wouldn't judge Souness on his manager career...he got rid of the LFC bootroom, where all the great managers came from. He tore it down so even though he's a Reds legend....he did a lot of harm as Liverpool manager! I wish the DFB would go back to the green 2nd shirt...I love it!
I think you will find that every club in England had scouts decades before this happened, Premier league teams would have had a network of scouts. Also Le Tissier wasn't a striker.
Uf this story is true, WHY are there NO videos of him playing??!!! e saw other players kicking and missing the ball by OTHER players, as a reference to him doing such actions. However, there are NONE of him in action screwing up. THAT, was why I clicked on the video, to SEE this LEGEND in action. But, alas, no PROOF of his ineptness!
If this guy played in the 5th tier of French football he simply can't be as bad as they are making out. I know top amateurs and Jr strikers that are obviously nowhere near Primer league but they wouldn't look like fools that couldn't kick a ball.
It's relative. The gulf between Premier league football and the 5th tier of French football is gigantic. When they say he was awful, they mean awful by premier league standards. I think Dia did end up playing non-league football in the UK, somewhere around the 7th tier. Even those guys would look amazing up against a Sunday league team, but pit them again the top professionals and they'll look like some random guy pulled off the street.
@@richardg8376 I don't think they would mate.
