Did you know this story? Do you know of any other similar stories? 👀
Carlos Kaiser made a career out of signing for but never actually playing for some of Brazil's biggest teams.
Yeah, I know of a similar story. There's a channel named, "Oh my Goal!" It's one of the worst channels ever. It had a drastic downfall.
😅
Wasn't there some story once of a guy playing for West Ham briefly before getting hauled off?
@@MrPaulc222no apparently that was some West Ham fan giving Harry redknapp stick on the sidelines in a friendly and said if you can do any better you come on then and play 😂
I was at the Leeds game. The part of the story most people miss is that Dia actually HIT THE POST in that game. I remember saying to my cousin at the game "that was a good start". Imagine how much (even) more amazing this story could have been if that shot had gone in. We thought he must be injured to be taken off but that's because we were watching where the ball went, not what Dia himself was doing. By the way that fan song "he's a liar" is from Gateshead fans, he joined them afterwards.
I’m a saints fan and I’ve heard this too. The story of Ali Dia being *that* bad has definitely grown horns - because you don’t play 8 games and score a couple of goals in the 6th tier of English football without being at least competent amateur level
George Weah’s Cousin😭
nothing ventured, nothing gained 🤭
George Weah's cousin Bed 🤣
I know 😂
When one of us get in, we all go through it
Want know a funny fact? Dia actually made it into one of the ACTUA SOCCER games on PS1 with Southampton. I believe it was the third game.
Ha ha. Brilliant!
I want that game 😂
What were his stats lol
ahh omg memories of childhood. i loved actua soccer. great days back when life was easy and fun. and the biggest worry wasif it rained outside
To be fair to Ali, the PL never got to see me play....
🤣🤣🤣
Ali Dia's son though, is a professional player. He's currently at Ayutthaya FC, in Thai League 2.
Proffesional? 😂
@@Sportskiduhuh ...as professional as your spelling of the word. If you can't even spell the word, then don't bother commenting@! Hah
@@Steveinthailand ok mate, dont hurt me 🤣
Impressive.
Now he’s in Belgium
Just for info Matt le tissier wasn't a forward he was an attacking midfielder which makes his tally of 209 goals even more impressive and he was the first midfielder to score 100 goals
To be fair he did play quite a few games for Saints as a striker. But yes he was best as ab attacking midfielder.
Love this episode. Can’t believe that it actually happened😂. Good on him to get to the prem with no talent. 😂
genius or impostor? 😂
The Premier League is full of players with no talent, look at Harry Maguire.
@@soccerstoriesohmygoal He played in the conference which is a good standard the idea that he was a pub player is ridiculous. Many apprentices and young pros never get to conference level after moving away from the pro game but play a pro match when sides have injuries Tommy Goodwin at Leicester one such example
As a Newcastle fan, I can't stand Souness. Destroyed Bobby Robson's team out of pure ego. Not to mention his corrupt purchase of Boumsong from Rangers.
We might never have ended up with Mike Ashley as owner had we appointed someone more capable of replacing Bobby Robson... or better still, kept Robson another season or two.
Just to point out it was at the Dell not St Marys.
You earned yourself a sub. This was an amazing telling of a story i was familiar with, sprinkled with bits of knowledge i was not familiar with! I was thinking about this the other day, so stumbling upon your video was great!
He almost scored. Anyone who does that on their short debut is not the worse player.
Did he I don't remember that?
@@liamjones9115 It’s on RUclips ruclips.net/video/cfX9gBmsWqg/видео.htmlsi=fw-D_eBwY6zgCFvt Decent shot producing a decent save.
To be fair anyone can have an attempt on goal! Think it was more to with him being tactical & technically poor for that level
Anthony is the certified worst premier league of all time. Dia couldn’t have been that bad if he actually played football in France and Germany etc.
And he didn't cost millions.
Think you confused Terry McDermott and Souness in a few of your pics.
I don’t know, maybe he wasn’t as bad as people say he was. He was able to play 5th tier football in France and in the video at 5:40 why did the coach say that about him? And yet after seeing him in training they still decided to give him playing time in a Premier League match. 🤔
5th tier of France football is like England 7th tier / Germany 4th tier 😂 . My Neighbour from Asia Jungle Score 2 Goals + 3 Assist in 2 match during trial vs French 3rd & 4th tier team .
@@Luonguyen457That's so bullshit
@@Luonguyen457100% made up story bullshit😂😂😂
Nearly scored if I recall properly in that 50 odd mins of fame for the saints
I think you will find that every club in England had scouts decades before this happened, Premier league teams would have had a network of scouts. Also Le Tissier wasn't a striker.
I wouldn't judge Souness on his manager career...he got rid of the LFC bootroom, where all the great managers came from. He tore it down so even though he's a Reds legend....he did a lot of harm as Liverpool manager!
I wish the DFB would go back to the green 2nd shirt...I love it!
Thing is, he almost scored. Imagine if he did.
The game wasnt at St Marys. That stadium opened in 2001. The match was at The Dell.
Current Man Utd and Chelsea players be like:
👀
This story has been told so many times. Jesus.
If this guy played in the 5th tier of French football he simply can't be as bad as they are making out. I know top amateurs and Jr strikers that are obviously nowhere near Primer league but they wouldn't look like fools that couldn't kick a ball.
It's relative. The gulf between Premier league football and the 5th tier of French football is gigantic. When they say he was awful, they mean awful by premier league standards.
I think Dia did end up playing non-league football in the UK, somewhere around the 7th tier. Even those guys would look amazing up against a Sunday league team, but pit them again the top professionals and they'll look like some random guy pulled off the street.
@@richardg8376 I don't think they would mate. If you took the top striker from say the Scottish championship and played him for one game off the bench for a lower English Premier league club then he would never play again obviously but he wouldn't seem so out of place that his performance at training and the part of they game he played were so memorably bad decades later. He just would be no where near good enough. I just think the whole thing with this guy has become a myth, a legend that did grow arms and legs because of the bizarre stuff surrounding it.
@@Cross-Carrier Yeh this video is so full of exaggeration and hyperbole that I couldn’t finish watching it.
There have been plenty of players that were atrocious getting more minutes than this guy. The story is hilarious, but there have been worse performances over a 90 minutes. Did he score any own goals? Miss an open goal? No, he was just another player massively out of his depth, it happens.
@@richardg8376 he played in the 5th tier and players from that level can play the odd game in the PL and not look totally stupid.Leicester city had a player called Norman Leet from 1980 to 1983 played 19 matches he's legendary for being useless his last match for Leicester was in the 1982/83 season by 1984/85 he was sub for a Sunday morning side called the Viking Tun
1:06 Terry Mac was fooled without even knowing
I wonder if the film of the full match will ever be shown? Then we can draw our own conclusions
Somebody needs to track him down and find out what he’s up to today 🤣
They did he lives in London
He's chief pie taster for Gregg's.
You have done no research here.
According to this video - the game happened at St. Mary's.
In 1997 ?
I don't think so.
It was at The Dell. Definitely.
Uf this story is true, WHY are there NO videos of him playing??!!! e saw other players kicking and missing the ball by OTHER players, as a reference to him doing such actions. However, there are NONE of him in action screwing up. THAT, was why I clicked on the video, to SEE this LEGEND in action. But, alas, no PROOF of his ineptness!
There are videos of him, he had one chance in a game and the rest wondered around lost. This really isn’t a conspiracy theory plus they are my team 😂
Its definitely Antony
Great upload! I had no recollection of the Dia episode. Souness is a legend for my team Rangers. Have a sub 👍
Hilarious, Southampton should sell Ali Dia jerseys.
Poor decision to pull Dia off-- they conceded another goal...🤣🤣🤣
Matt Le Tissier wasn't a striker, and every time you call him that I die a little inside.
Can see you have mixed up some pictures of Graeme’s fellow player at LFC, Terry McDermott in your intro. Granted they looked similar but it’s a bit of a gaff 😂
Game was at the Dell. This guy needs to up his game.
But he graduated university in England and got his masters in the US in Business Administration
No antony is...80m fidget spinner. Eth has blood on his hands
Before getting accused of beating a woman he was OK, he score a few decent goals. But now he is 💩
Bro why do you lot hate on antony so much ?? As a chelsea fan i will take him at our club
@ChrisWright-ub6ft why do you people think its hate when you think a player is shit? He cant cross, shoot or dribble, what do you want me to say hes a good player that does wonders for the team?
@@ChrisWright-ub6ft he was good for half a season and went down hill. When was the last time he scored. The goal against city was good. Chelsea would take anyone after the season they are having
How he get a start after them seeing him in training?? Someone telling lies😂😂
Maybe he was like niasse of Everton looked good in inferior league😂
Nice shirt. Looks like the Germany away kit from 1986 or 1990.
Thx , don't know but it def a German Trikot
@@TheJulia90 why a Germany shirt when you're English??
Man is a legend lol
Conning a Scotsman is legendary 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Southampton should make a statue for him 😂
Matt Le Tissier wasn’t a striker.
You never tire of hearing this story 😂
Makes me wonder what would have happened if Carlos Kaiser would have been signed by a |PL team and not stayed in South America though
He went to training for a week, how did he make it into the first team and got selected for a match?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂laughed the whole time!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
9:15 VSauce/How To Basic cameo
Dia is NOT senegalese antony. Antony IS brazilian dia 😛
Wouldn't be so sure about this guy being the worst, have you seen Sheffield United try and play football
1.05 is not Graeme Souness, it’s Terry Mac aka Terry McDermott, Liverpool, Newcastle and England legend.
Hillarious 😂😂😂
Surely that accolade goes to Carl Leaburn of Wimbledon. Oops just watched this and I agree 🤣🤣
Carl Leaburn is a football genius! Heh. Charlton fan here, we loved him when he was with us but not because he was good, I think at some point he got like a £1.5m transfer to QPR and we were gobsmacked.
Dia is a legend
1.06 into this video .isn’t Souness it’s Terry Mc Dermott !
He's not the worst player the Premier League has ever seen, Frank Lampard is.
Man U still leads the PL in terrible transfers
Chelsea😂😂😂
And then Onana came along!
Still better than Højlund
Where is the film of the 50 min he spent on the pitch vs Leeds?
6:58 LMAOOOO deadddddddddddddd
1:05 is that not Terry McDermot?
lol now its more common, i mean look at footballers now with high transfer costs. Yet they can back it up talent wise
Dude you forgot how Amazing Newcastle were in Faustino Asprilla era!!!!
Fking hell Ginola was (head and shoulders above the rest) 🤣
They weren't playing at St Mary's then , they were playing at the Dell
Souness has spent 40+ years failing to identify talent. Worst of all, he says he had some himself. Pfffft.
To save his face, I'd be happy to be signed up for a Premier League game for any team, for 1 week's average Premiership wages.
Never heard of him,,but I seriously think I should have joined premier league also
that’s a classic story
Ok if this guy make it into the Premier League i van do it too🤣
Probably the same guy emailing people saying he's a Nigerian prince who wants to give you money 🤣🤣
Matt Le Tissier was NOT a striker he was a midfielder. The amount of times you got this basic information wrong was really frustrating.
He also said the Leeds game was at St Marys Stadium. That stadium didn't even exist until 2001. The match was at The Dell.
All do know this was a miracle, the All Mighty will this for him
remember guys this is before the likes of Antony and mudryk
FYI pretty sure you have used a picture of Alan Kennedy instead of Souness and Ulrich Van Gobbel instead of Dia at various points during this video. Also Ali Dia actually played for Southampton reserves against Chelsea on 27th November 1996, four days after the Leeds match, this means the club actually chose to have another look at him after his awful debut in the PL, makes the story even more embarrassing! 😆
It was not St Mary's but The Dell...
The other red flag was why a LIBERIAN footballer had a SENGALESE cousin? Imagine Bobby Charlton recommending his 'Chinese cousin'?? 😂
pascal chimbonda staggers into the chat tripping over his laces
U forgot that he played for blyth sparten and then he did a runner to Southampton. I know this for a fact
Ali Dia = Carlos Káiser!
So Leeds scored after Dia was subbed out? 🤔
Souness took a bung !
Milton Nunez says hi.
He could get into the current sheff Utd team 😂
Graham sourness for ya knows not was a good player but manager and pundit stay at home graham
what d f**k ten days with a club oh my god
Souness or Terry McDermott ??
Not St. Mary's. The Dell
How did he receive a cap for Senegal if he was so bad? Thats what I don’t get?
If he can lie to sounness , why He can't lie to Senegal coach 😅 . Hachim Mastour has 3 caps for Morocco , sylvian moukwelle has 2 caps for Cameroon .
This video is outdated now that Antony has arrived in England
Antony from Man Utd is much worse.😂😂
Worst premier league player ever ? From a man city fan im pretty sure Eliaquim Mangala must have been worse .
Eric cantona is the most overrated player ever. He scored some good goals but he was never consistent
Palou Tramazani. The worst player ever to put on a spurs shirt. Or was it Gregorz Raziak?
Africans for you.
Weah didn’t call Souness. It was all a scam to get Souness to sign Dia.
He's better than Skipp!
Sorry to be that guy but Matt Le Tissier was a midfielder.
Of course he's a Saints player...
Have give it to him he got away with it, Souness is a clown, what he done with Liverpool & Newcastle,
I used to play football
